They wanted to choose the girls as soon as possible as their partners.
The eight criminals were competing among themselves as there were only four girls.
Amidst this, Pablo found a reason to laugh.
Cupid looked at him with ridicule and Pablo was kind enough to share the joke.
'The slaves were waiting for me to let them off the hook as they were afraid of the criminals but in the end, their waiting made them pair with the worst of the criminals. If they had chosen a partner themselves then they might have gotten less dangerous ones.'
