Chapter 7 - Staircase

They were coming to this classroom.

I don't know why, but I immediately crouched underneath my desk and hid with my bag, and the notebook, as well as the pen, all disappeared like it was never there.

And truly the footsteps just stopped outside the entrance of this classroom

"Kelvin?" The person called and I knew who it was from the tone.

'Mrs Vivianne ' I thought as I almost impulsively answered.

It took all my will to suppress the self in my dream to remain still.

"Hmm," She said and turned the other way and ascended up the staircase that was just opposite my classroom.

The was a descending one and an ascending one.

Regardless of this school being a three-storey building, my classroom was on the second floor.

Immediately, her footsteps faded to the Third floor, an impulse in me wanted to immediately follow after her, my rational mind, however, wanted to leave the school.

At the end of the day, I made up my mind to leave he classroom first, as for where I was heading? I allowed my dream navigate itself, I only watched from a third-person perspective like some kind of game

I walked towards the other extreme of this floor, to where the staff room was, and calmly opened the door.

I was expecting some big reveal but was only disappointed to find it empty..

Imagine my relief to find out that there was no danger, however, where were the remaining teachers ... And cursed spirits.

Or is this because it's a dream I thought, but I never stopped moving rapidly, opening the doors from there onward.

The computer laboratory had no one.

The Economics laboratory had no one.

These were the only two labs on this floor. I went on ahead and wanted to use the staircase at this end of the floor; it was like a fire exit staircase, but useful for hiding, as it was always dark and fun for the seniors to be intimate.

When I remembered that Mrs Vivianne might probably be upstairs looking for me.

As much as spying on her goes, I asked myself if there were any laboratories on the ground and first floor.

There was none; however, there was a storage room, which was used to keep equipment ranging from shovels to machine parts and even construction materials that may be useful one day.

That was enough reason not to go upstairs.

Besides there were only two classrooms upstairs and the rest were halls and rooms used for every other practical subject

I nimbly went down the first floor with nothing to see, I proceeded down the ground floor, and still, there was no one there.

The storage room was behind the staircase and never guarded, but bolted at best. The school never knew when they'd need it, so they decided to just bolt it and keep a register for reference purposes, besides, you'd know if a person was here.

I struggled a little to loosen the bolt, and amidst my struggle, it made a huge shutting sound.
