Ones that were valuable enough to be pleasantly accepted, and usually related to the skills or specialization of the Elder.
Ones who liked to go out hunting would bring hunting tools, ones who specialized in fire would gift a fire element resource, unless the new Elder was an Ice or Water element.
That sort of tradition.
