"How are you not dead?" Carnage asked as he realized that Karl was moving.
"I am quite durable, in all honesty. However, having a hole punched through my chest was a bit more than awkward. It's just that dead and 'dead' aren't always the same thing."
The demon laughed as Karl dismissed the Epic Golems.
"You know, I've never seen the distraction technique work before.
Many have tried it in many different ways, even to the point of trying to run away to run out the clock. But none have actually made the timer before. Is that why you saved your valuables? You knew that you could win the wager?"
Karl shook his head. "No. I just wanted you to have a chance to fight for a little bit. The prisoners said that you're getting a bit tense and pent up without a proper chance to let loose and have fun these days.
If you need more payment for the fines, I have more loot, or I can make something that's worth the same."
