Jiaojiao walked to the front of the courtyard with Duan Xi.
The Li family's yard had a large sycamore tree, and behind the sycamore tree was a small storeroom where Xiaohei was often tied up before.
Every time Ruan Jiaojiao saw that little storeroom, she felt a bit sentimental.
"Today we're having garlic sprouts fried with meat, and the mushrooms I picked myself from the hill yesterday," said Jiaojiao as she took out a bowl from the small basket.
Li Boxue did not reach for the bowl but instead looked at Shu Wen and Qin Qiong standing outside the fence. He then turned his gaze back to Jiaojiao and spoke his first words in days: "Are you going to sell me too?"
Ruan Jiaojiao was shocked, her hand trembled, almost dropping the bowl. Duan Xi steadied her hand.
Ruan Jiaojiao asked in surprise, "Why would you say something like that?"
