Clearly, he was placing the blame on Ruan Jianguo.
Ruan Jiaojiao couldn't bear to have her dad take the blame for her, so she quickly explained, "It happened in the school bathroom." She then pointed to her calf, "I've been so unlucky recently, yesterday I got hurt by a kettle."
The implication was that it was truly her own bad luck, and no one else was to blame.
