Chapter 223: Reunion with the Advisor Girl!
Soon after dinner, Ethan lay alone on his bed.
Through the window, he gazed at the bright moon outside.
Everything that happened today had been far too exciting.
Another Cosmology.
Even in his dreams, Ethan had never imagined he would obtain a supreme treasure like that.
Swish.
He raised one hand, and streams of black mud slowly emerged from his palm.
If the old Ethan could control the black mud because he bore [All the World's Evil], then the Ethan of today had completely mastered that power.
He no longer suffered from the "negative effects" of [All the World's Evil].
Yet strangely enough, he had not lost any of the enhancements it had granted him.
The feeling was incredibly peculiar.
"Evil and good…"
The Manjusaka and Mandarava, representing evil and good respectively, appeared on either side behind Ethan like Martial Spirits.
Pure black and pure white intertwined, creating a magnificent and extraordinary sight.
Swish.
The next second, everything vanished without a trace, as though it had never appeared.
Creak.
The bedroom door opened, and Artemis walked in wearing a white gauze nightgown.
Looking at Ethan, that strange feeling from before returned to her.
Something had definitely happened to her lover.
This was a goddess's intuition.
Gods did not experience such feelings for no reason.
If something like this occurred, it was either a revelation or some kind of warning.
Even with her divine power sealed, there was still a small chance of such sensations appearing.
"Ethan, no matter what happened, I'll face it together with you."
While Ethan's thoughts wandered, Artemis quietly embraced him from behind.
Her voice sounded like the gentle whisper of a wife comforting her husband.
"Don't worry. Something did happen, but it's a good thing."
"I just don't know how to explain it yet. Once I sort out my thoughts, I'll tell you everything without hiding anything."
"Mm."
Artemis nodded and did not press him further.
Since Ethan had already promised to tell her everything later, there was no need to force him to speak now.
[Another Cosmology] was simply too difficult for Ethan to explain.
Was he supposed to tell her directly that he had obtained a supreme treasure and was now destined to become the center of a new pantheon someday?
Besides, at his current level, Ethan could neither control nor properly use this power.
It was like obtaining a divine artifact that required 100,000 points of mana to activate while he possessed only 100.
The gap was simply too enormous.
For now, he could only look at it.
...
The night passed peacefully.
The next morning, Ethan woke up early and arrived at the Guild shortly after it opened.
"Ethan-san."
When she saw Ethan, his half-elf advisor, Eina, immediately walked over.
However, the way she looked at him was filled with resentment, making Ethan feel somewhat awkward.
Ever since becoming an adventurer, Ethan had been assigned to Eina.
Yet not once had he come to the Guild to exchange magic stones.
In other words, she had not earned a single valis in service fees from him.
That alone might have been fine.
The problem was that Ethan frequently came to the Guild to ask her for information.
Admittedly, advising adventurers was part of her job.
But nearly half a year had passed, and Ethan had not paid even a single valis in advisory fees.
Worse yet, as a Guild employee, Eina knew about Ethan's cooperation with the Hephaestus Familia.
The Spatial Rings that had become incredibly popular throughout Orario were created by Ethan.
He was definitely not some penniless newcomer.
On the contrary, he was absurdly wealthy.
Yet this rich bastard had taken advantage of her services for so long.
She was a beautiful woman too, wasn't she?
How could he really bring himself to do this to her?
"Oh, Eina. Good morning!"
"Good morning, Ethan-san."
"Since you came this early today, is there some information you'd like to ask me about?"
Her words were practically dripping with resentment.
A pink-haired girl nearby looked at Eina, then at Ethan, and secretly giggled.
Within the Guild, Eina was famous for being kind and gentle.
Quite a few adventurers secretly admired her.
There had even been cases of adventurers fighting each other inside the Guild hall because of her.
Yet this beautiful and popular half-elf had repeatedly suffered losses when dealing with Ethan.
It was simply too entertaining.
Their strange relationship was hardly a secret among the Guild staff anymore.
Everyone was curious about how far this ill-fated connection between the two would eventually develop.
"Ahem. Actually, I'm here to submit a commission."
"Submit a commission?"
"That's right. The commission the Guild sent to the Freya Familia yesterday. I've already completed it."
"All right, let me see…"
"Investigate traces of Evilus on the 27th floor…"
"Hm? This commission…"
"I've already investigated everything. The culprit was…"
Ethan then explained the entire sequence of events.
Of course, he left out certain pieces of "information" and glossed over others.
Ethan hated unnecessary trouble, after all.
Eina immediately entered work mode.
Although the two of them had their little issues, she was always extremely serious about her job and would never be careless.
Especially when it came to missions.
These were results adventurers had risked their lives to obtain inside the Dungeon.
"So, you're saying everything was a scheme created by Jura Halmer, the surviving member of the Rudra Familia?"
"Yes."
"And you already resolved everything?"
"It's taken care of."
"However, the 25th floor suffered severe structural damage. The Guild should issue a warning so adventurers don't accidentally run into danger there."
"I'll handle it."
Eina gave Ethan a long look and could not help feeling emotional.
How many months had it been?
The rookie adventurer from back then had already grown to this point.
A stage others could spend decades struggling to reach had taken him only a few months.
People truly were different.
Everything was quickly entered into the official records.
However, to confirm that the commission had truly been completed, the Guild would still send people to verify Ethan's report.
After all, the information he had brought back was honestly rather shocking.
Remnants of Evilus, silent for years, had caused such a massive incident inside the Dungeon.
Ethan did not care.
The only surviving witness was Bors, and finding him would be easy.
After all, he was the leader of Rivira.
