Valentine Teller shook her head, always feeling that Mark Reed was talking strangely.
Did he still suspect something?
She studied him carefully. His gloomy face showed not a trace of joy; he didn't seem happy for her at all, and instead looked deeply worried.
Bewildered, Valentine asked, "What's wrong with you? You still can't relax?"
"It's nothing." Mark gave her a reassuring smile and said, "I'm probably just overthinking it!"
Valentine thought for a moment, then said firmly, "You really are overthinking it. They're my dad and mom. We've seen the paternity report. You also said my dad and I look alike, so there's no problem. I'm their daughter; that's an absolute fact."
"Yeah, I really am overthinking it."
Mark echoed her, not wanting to spoil her mood. Maybe he really was thinking too much and looking for trouble on his own.
