Mark Reed nodded at her, already at the door of the office. He pushed down the handle with his elbow and carried Valentine Teller inside sideways.
Through the gaps between her fingers, Valentine saw they had entered a room and then removed her hands from her face, her cheeks blushing red.
"Put me down quickly."
She lowered her voice, not daring to shout, fearing it would attract others and even more that Turstin Muller would come running upon hearing.
Mark casually placed Valentine on the leather sofa beside him and then left.
Carefully, Valentine placed her foot on the ground and slowly stood up. She took a deep breath, intending to leave before Mark returned.
Looking around, it was a lavishly decorated office. Could it be that this restaurant's owner was Mark Reed?
If that were true, she had to leave immediately.
No matter how much her ankle hurt, she had to bear it, biting her lip hard and trudging forward with difficulty.
