Valentine Teller stood up, wanting to leave, but Madison Barton called out to her: "Don't go, stay and chat with me."
In this situation, Madison felt suffocated almost to the point of breathlessness; there was no one to confide in, no one to offer comfort, she could only bear it alone.
Facing the woman who had once lingered in Mark's heart, she suddenly felt that having her to talk to was just like having Mark nearby, and she didn't want her to leave so quickly.
After hesitating for a moment, Valentine nodded and sat back down: "Alright."
"When did you and Mark first meet?"
Madison looked at her face with some curiosity. If she removed her glasses, she would definitely be very pretty, though with them on, it wasn't quite as apparent.
"Four years ago, I suppose." Valentine thought for a bit and said evasively, "He helped me a lot, I am very grateful to him."
"Oh."
She became Mark's girlfriend around that time too; just not sure which came first.
