She nodded awkwardly, "Alright, let's go back."
Mark Reed held a sarcastic smile at the corner of his mouth, watching them walk into the elevator.
The wine glass was brought to lips that still seemed to carry a fragrant scent.
He drank it in one gulp, tossed it to the ground, shattering it, and then turned to leave.
In the confined space of the elevator, Valentine Teller stood in a corner, intentionally maintaining a distance from Turstin Muller.
"Tonight's ball was quite lively," Turstin Muller was oblivious to Valentine Teller's inner thoughts, and was unaware of what had just happened to her, only sensing that she seemed a bit off, somewhat distracted.
She stared fixedly at the numbers changing on the elevator screen, not even giving him a proper glance.
It felt like being neglected.
He wanted to draw her attention back to him.
