Jayden Maguire coaxed Nana Monty like one would a child: "Alright, alright, I won't go on any missions. I'll stay with you and the baby, not going anywhere."
Nana Monty finally broke into a smile through her tears, playfully punching Jayden Maguire: "You do have a bit of a conscience, after all."
"Look at our son, isn't he falling asleep?" Jayden Maguire quickly changed the subject to avoid Nana Monty holding onto the issue.
"Yes, don't talk. Just gently pat his back and he'll fall asleep soon."
"Okay."
Jayden Maguire did as Nana Monty instructed, and soon the little one was fast asleep.
Holding his sleeping son, Jayden Maguire didn't even dare to breathe loudly.
Looking at the little one, he couldn't help but wonder if, back in the day, if Sherlene Queens hadn't sacrificed herself, would they be married with kids now, perhaps even old enough to run errands.
No matter how many times he thought about it, there was no answer.
