Chapter 58 - War is Over

Titus moved swiftly, striking down the demons guarding Sagi before they could react.

One by one, they fell beneath his blade.

As soon as the last demon collapsed, Titus rushed to Sagi's side. The young man lay unconscious upon the stone altar, his body weak from the ritual.

Titus shattered the chains that bound him and quickly checked for signs of life.

Sagi was still breathing.

Relieved, Titus carefully carried him away from the altar and laid him in a safer place.

He then hurried over to Jade and freed her from her restraints.

"Thank you," Jade said gratefully.

Suddenly, Xenon appeared in a flash of light.

"Xen, get Sagi and Jade away from here," Titus ordered.

Xenon nodded.

Without wasting a second, he grabbed both of them and teleported away from the chamber.

Titus watched them disappear before turning his attention back to Xylon.

.

Meanwhile, Heberlin and the others had eliminated every demon blocking their path on the lower floors of the castle.

The corridors were littered with the remains of fallen enemies.

"Let's move to the top floor," Heberlin said urgently. "I'm certain Xylon and the others are up there."

The group immediately rushed up the tower, racing toward the final battlefield.

.

Xylon blocked Leviathan's attack with his sword.

The impact shook the chamber.

He counterattacked immediately, but Leviathan effortlessly dodged the strike.

The Demon King raised his hand and conjured a massive sphere of blazing fire.

The intense heat engulfed the room.

"This is the end for you, Your Majesty!" Leviathan roared.

With a powerful swing, he hurled the gigantic fireball toward Xylon.

Before it could reach its target, Yvess appeared in front of him.

A shimmering barrier materialized around them.

The fireball slammed into the magical shield, causing a violent explosion that shook the entire castle.

But the barrier held.

"Thank you," Xylon said.

Yvess simply nodded.

"Xylon!"

Blake and the others finally arrived and rushed to their side.

For the first time, Leviathan found himself surrounded.

Yet he only smiled.

Then his gaze fell upon Aria.

A cruel grin spread across his face.

Without warning, he launched another blazing fireball straight at her.

Everything happened in an instant.

Before Aria could react, a figure stepped between her and the attack.

Titus.

The fireball struck him directly.

"AAAAAHHHHH!"

His agonized scream echoed throughout the chamber.

Flames engulfed his body.

"TITUS!" everyone cried.

Titus fell to one knee as smoke rose from his burning flesh.

"T-Titus..." Aria whispered, her voice trembling.

Despite the unbearable pain, Titus forced a weak smile onto his face.

"F-Finish Leviathan..." he said, struggling to speak. "D-Don't let him destroy... destroy the world..."

Tears filled Aria's eyes as she rushed to his side.

Ignoring the searing pain from the heat scorching her skin, she supported his weakened body.

"M-My lady... thanks..." Titus whispered. "I hope... Cedrick takes good care of you..."

At those words, Aria could no longer hold back her tears.

They streamed down her face.

"I'm sorry..." she sobbed.

Titus smiled gently.

A smile filled not with regret, but with peace.

Then, before their eyes, his body slowly dissolved into countless particles of light.

Titus was gone...

.

.

Xerxes stood beneath the darkened sky, his crimson eyes fixed upon the distant horizon.

He knew chaos was unfolding within Leviathan's castle.

Though part of him wanted to aid the Demon King, he could not leave.

His duty was here.

With Luna.

She was only days away from giving birth.

After a moment, Xerxes turned and entered the house.

Inside, he found Luna sleeping peacefully on the couch, completely unaware of the war raging beyond the safety of their home.

Xerxes gazed at her in silence.

Only a little longer...

"You don't have much time left," he whispered.

He walked toward the darkest corner of the house and sat down.

.

.

.

"Let's finish this."

Xylon tightened his grip on his sword as he faced Leviathan.

The others nodded in agreement.

Xenon had already returned, joining the final confrontation.

Leviathan threw back his head and laughed.

"HAHAHA! Do you truly believe you can defeat me?"

"Yes," Xylon replied firmly. "We can. And this is where your reign ends."

Just as they had done during their battle against Jinx, the vampires united their powers.

Their energy merged into one.

A brilliant blue light filled the chamber.

The castle trembled.

"LEVIATHAN!!!"

Their voices thundered as a colossal wave of blue flames erupted toward the Demon King.

The sacred fire was born from the combined strength of every vampire present.

The moment it struck him, Leviathan screamed in agony.

"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"

The blue flames engulfed his body, burning through his dark power.

His flesh crackled beneath the holy fire.

Then Aria seized the opportunity.

Leaping into the air, she hurled a vial of holy water directly at him.

The liquid splashed across Leviathan's burning body.

His scream became even more horrifying.

The chamber shook violently.

Cracks spread across the floor.

"No... NOOOO!"

A blinding explosion erupted from within him.

For a moment, the entire room was consumed by light.

When the glow finally faded, Leviathan was gone.

Nothing remained except a pile of gray ashes scattered across the stone floor.

The Demon King had fallen.

At last.

Exhausted, Xylon collapsed onto one knee.

His chest rose and fell heavily.

"I-It's over..." he said between breaths.

Heberlin smiled.

"Finally."

Stephen draped an arm over Yvess's shoulder.

Everyone was exhausted.

One by one, they sank onto the floor, too tired to stand.

For the first time in what felt like an eternity...

The war was over.

.

.

"Xylon!"

Jade's voice echoed through the palace halls.

The moment she saw him, she ran forward and wrapped her arms around him.

They had finally returned home.

Xylon embraced her tightly.

"How are you feeling?" he asked, concern evident in his voice.

"I'm alright. What about you?" Jade replied.

A gentle smile appeared on Xylon's face.

He pulled her closer.

"The war is over," he said softly. "Leviathan is gone."

Relief washed over everyone.

Lilith smiled brightly upon hearing the news.

"Where's Sagi?" Yvess asked.

"He's resting in his room," Lilith answered. "The ritual took a great toll on him."

Yvess nodded in understanding.

"I suppose it's time for all of us to rest as well," Zander said with a weary sigh. "I used far too much power during that battle."

"Same here," Xenon agreed.

The others laughed softly.

The palace felt peaceful again.

No more threats, no more battles, and no more war.

One by one, they returned to their rooms.
