Two hours later!
Lan Xin Ai called Xi Yemo.
"Honey."
"Wife, I'm still at the office and probably won't be back until late," Xi Yemo was the first to speak.
"Take care of yourself. I'll go back after Ruowei and Dad arrive."
Lan Xin Ai said.
"That's too late. You should head home and rest first," Xi Yemo disagreed immediately upon hearing she planned to wait so late.
"I'm the only one at home anyway. I'll stay at the hospital a bit longer."
Seeing her insistence, Xi Yemo didn't press further: "Alright."
After saying a few more words, they hung up the phone.
When Lan Xin Ai turned around, she saw Xu Meili asleep on the sofa. She took a blanket from the bag and covered Xu Meili with it.
She went outside to fetch a pot of hot water, thinking it was necessary to find a caregiver, as Xu Meili couldn't be relied on entirely.
Lan Xin Ai wiped Grandpa Lan's face, hands, and neck, then covered him with a blanket after finishing.
