The familiar voice, like a demon, crashed deeply into Lin Mengyao's ears. She spun around abruptly, stunned.
The man wore a baseball cap, dressed very simply, but that face was one Lin Mengyao could never forget.

"Came back to see my girlfriend." Pei Nuo tilted her chin up.
"Don't touch me."
Lin Mengyao slapped his hand away.
"Pei Nuo, you actually dare to come back. Do you believe I'll have you caught and handed over to Xi Yemo immediately?"
Lin Mengyao spat venomously, but her heart was in chaos. Why had he returned, why was he seeking her out, what did he want?
"If you're not afraid, go ahead, hand me over."
Pei Nuo took off his hat, revealing his full visage. Over three months without contact, his face appeared much thinner.
