Chapter 513 - Ch 539 - Oh no... Caught Snogging by Parvati

Lucifer looked at his girlfriend slightly concerned, about to ask what was wrong before he was pushed up against the door, Hermione's front flush against hers.

His face slightly flushed at his and Hermione's close proximity, the bushy-haired girl's breath fanning his lips, their faces millimeters apart.

She wore a small smirk as she slowly wrapped her arms around Lucifer's neck, the boy still somewhat confused as he instinctively wrapped his around Hermione's waist.

Hermione giggled at Lucifer's confused face, her eyebrows rising in an amused manner, "Do you know why I am acting like this?"

Lucifer shook his head no, not trusting any words that would come from his mouth. Her smirk only widened as she trailed a hand from around Lucifer's neck to cup his face, brushing their lips together.

"You," Hermione said softly, the atmosphere around them growing hot, "You don't know how much your touch affects me."

Lucifer's eyebrows creased together as he looked at Hermione, "What?"

"You were skimming your fingers over my thigh in the cart," She said, their lips brushing together as she spoke.

His eyes widened in realisation.

"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable-"

"Oh, you did completely the opposite."

Lucifer didn't get to respond as Hermione pushed her lips to his, the back of his head hitting the door behind him from the force.

Her bottom lip was trapped between the boy's, the kiss starting out at a slightly slow pace. Her hands rested behind Lucifer's neck and under his jaw, pushing their faces closer together as the bushy-haired girl was desperate to 'feel' her boyfriend against her.

The stirring feeling in the pit of her stomach hadn't subsided, in fact, it had only increased. Lucifer was slightly taken aback from Hermione's boldness, the girl usually shy when it came to things like this.

He felt Hermione's fingers grasp at the back of his neck as their lips were pushed closer together in a somewhat harsh manner, a moan erupting from the Gryffindor's lips at the feeling.

Gaining his dominance back, Lucifer flipped the two around so that she was now pushed up against the cart of Ravenclaw Prefect booth, her back hitting the wooden door with a thud.

"You locked the door, huh?" Lucifer wondered, mumbling against Hermione's lips.

The Gryffindor nodded as she feverishly pushed their lips back together, softly muttering out a 'yes!

"Good girl."

Lucifer abruptly picked Hermione up by her thighs, a gasp leaving her lips as she wrapped her legs around his waist, her body pushed up against the wall to support her.

He smirked into the kiss before disconnecting his lips from Hermione's, trailing them down to her jawline as he peppered soft butterfly kisses to the skin.

Hermione's hands tangled in Lucifer's hair as she leaned her head back against the door, her eyes fluttering as she felt him trail lips down to the column of her neck.

Lucifer readjusted Hermione against the door for a moment, making sure she was fully supported before he dove back to her neck.

His lips immediately latched onto the skin, Hermione's lips forming an O-shape as she threw her head back with a whimper.

He started to nip and suck at the skin, his tongue soothing it over as he created multiple hickeys to bushy-haired girl's neck.

He continued her assault on the Gryffindor's skin, mouth moving up and down for any patch of skin he could mark.

It moved around for a while until it found a spot near the base of her neck, harshly sucking onto it.

Hermione's fingers dug into the back of his neck as she pushed her face closer, Lucifer smirking against the skin, "Found your pulse point."

Lips attacked the spot as Hermione's grip around the back of her neck tightened, desperately pushing closer. A string of moans left her lips, her hips bucking upwards into Lucifer.

"Oh my-Merlin's sake," She moaned out, the feeling of his lips making her go crazy.

Lucifer continued to suck on her pulse point before pulling away, satisfied with the mark he had created to the section of skin. He made her way back to Hermione's lips, feverishly pushing them back together.

The two kissed passionately, Hermione now trailing her lips down to Lucifer's neck as she smirked.

"My turn." She moved towards his neck, about to press her lips to the skin before a knock on the door behind them startled her, girl immediately 'flushing' a bright pink.

Hermione removed her legs from around Lucifer's waist as he pulled her away from the wooden door, her feet finally planting themselves back onto the floor boards. Her knees felt slightly weak, her breathing still a ragged mess of shallow gasps.

Lucifer quickly smoothed down his black school robes from their disheveled state, running a hand through his hair before turning the brass lock to open the door. Standing behind him, Hermione frantically repositioned her thick, bushy hair, draping the curls forward over her shoulders in a desperate bid to cover the deep crimson marks blossoming across her neck.

The door slid open with a sharp rattle, and Lucifer's face immediately fell into a look of absolute annoyance as he stared at the group of students standing in the narrow aisle. "Can we help you?" he asked, his voice dripping with icy cold irritation.

"Are you two quite done making out in there? We're almost at Hogsmeade," Padma Patil said, leaning against the corridor wall.

Behind her, a small group of Ravenclaw friends began snickering loudly as they watched Hermione's face instantly blaze a dark, mortified red.

"We weren't!" Hermione hissed defensively, her voice cracking slightly as she tried to summon her best 'Prefect' tone.

"Oh, please, we could literally hear you down the hall," Parvati Patil chimed in, a wicked, knowing smirk plastered across her face. "You're just lucky no one else decided to walk down this specific carriage line."

Hermione glared fiercely at her fellow Gryffindor before rolling her eyes and retreating into the shadows of the booth.

"We'll be out in a second," Lucifer growled softly. He slammed the heavy compartment door shut, cutting off the girls' giggles, and turned back to face his thoroughly blushing girlfriend.

"They... they could actually hear me?" Hermione whispered, her eyes wide with panic as her hands flew to her burning cheeks.

Lucifer chuckled softly, stepping closer to press a gentle, reassuring kiss against her flushed cheek. "At least they know you were thoroughly enjoying it, love."

"Shut up, Lucifer!" She whined, hitting his chest playfully. "Do something about these hickeys right now. I absolutely cannot go outside looking like this!"

It was marvelous timing, however, as the Hogwarts Express suddenly began to decelerate, its iron wheels coming to a slow, screeching halt against the tracks. Outside their locked door, the entire train erupted into a sudden frenzy of movement, the chaotic rustle of hundreds of students making sure their luggage, cloaks, and pets were all properly set and squared away to be left behind for the house-elves while they enjoyed the upcoming Start-of-Term Feast.

As part of their official duties, Lucifer and Hermione, along with the rest of the Prefects and the Head Boy and Girl, had to line the narrow corridors and supervise the massive departure, ensuring every single student vacated the carriages safely.

Because of the delay, the two of them ended up being the absolute last ones to step off the steam engine and onto the dark, chilly platform. They had to hurry into the misty night to catch up with their friends, though Hermione would have been entirely lying to herself if she hadn't wanted to stay hidden away in that private booth for just a little while longer.

A deep, persistent desire to snog him for hours still throbbed in her chest, entirely unsatiated by their brief encounter.

They eventually spotted the familiar shapes of Harry, Ron, and Ginny standing near the edge of the dark platform and quickly walked up to join them.

"Where on earth do you reckon—" Harry started to ask, turning around, but his eyes locked instantly onto the girl's neck where her hair had shifted in the wind. His jaw dropped. "Blimey, Hermione! Did a bloody vampire launch an attack on your neck?!"

"—Hagrid is?" Lucifer cut in, his deep voice carrying a quiet weight that completely derailed Harry's line of questioning. "Remember, he explicitly mentioned Dumbledore had given him a specific task to look after over the holidays. It's probably just taking a bit longer than the Headmaster originally predicted."

Hermione let out a breath of relief at the cover story and made a move to follow them toward the carriages, but her eyes suddenly caught a scene unfolding a few yards away. Near the edge of the dark path, Draco Malfoy was towering over a small, trembling third-year Hufflepuff girl, aggressively shouting insults directly into her face.

"No, you stay right here. I will handle this," Lucifer said quietly to Hermione, his eyes narrowing into cold slits as he prepared to step forward.

"But, Malf—" Hermione started, wanting to assist.

"Granger, stay!" Lucifer commanded, his voice dropping into a tone of absolute, unyielding dominance.

Hermione instantly froze, her heart hammering against her ribs at the sudden shift in his tone. She lowered her gaze, keeping her face down and looking firmly at the cold, damp stone floor, completely submitting to his instruction.

"MALFOY!"

The sheer, staggering authority in Lucifer's voice boomed across the dark station like a clap of thunder. Combined with Malfoy's lingering, absolute terror of an angry Lucifer—vividly remembering what had happened to Graham at the end of the previous school year, the blond boy practically jumped out of his skin.

Draco Malfoy turned on his heel and began to run away frantically, stumbling blindly over his own robes. Pansy Parkinson had to physically grab his arm to keep him upright as Crabbe and Goyle broke off into surprisingly fast sprint speeds for their massive size, the entire group fleeing into the shadows.

Lucifer came to a halt directly in front of the shaking third-year Hufflepuff girl, the cold tension instantly bleeding out of his posture.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice dropping into a much calmer, surprisingly gentle cadence.

When he didn't get an immediate response, he looked down at her. The young girl was staring up at him with wide eyes and bright, heavily crimson cheeks. "Th-Thank you..." She whispered, her voice trembling. "I... I honestly don't even know why he was yelling at me..."

"Don't mention it. The boy is just an absolute arsehole," Lucifer replied smoothly. Just then, the loud, echoing whistle for the carriages to begin moving sounded across the courtyard.

He glanced at the departing line of coaches and muttered under his breath, "Dammit."

"I'm so sorry," the girl said quickly, her face falling as she thought she had messed up his schedule.

"No, no, it's not your fault at all," Lucifer reassured her with a small, comforting smile.

The girl looked toward a nearby carriage that was just about to pull away, then looked back up at the handsome fifth-year. "You... you can join me and my friends in our carriage if you want?" She offered in a quick-paced, eager voice. "There's an extra seat."

"Looks like I'm gonna have to," Lucifer said, glancing back toward where Hermione and the boys had already vanished into the crowd. He quickly walked alongside the young girl, climbing up the high steps into the dark, enclosed coach.

When he stepped inside, he realized with a sudden jolt of nostalgia that all of the other occupants were girls. He felt a slight, distinct sense of déjà vu from his previous timeline as they all stared at him in stunned silence.

"Hello," one of the girls in the corner managed to say, her eyes wide.

A second later, the carriage jerked forward, beginning its smooth journey up winding mountain path toward the castle, pulled by invisible forces.

"Hello there," Lucifer said smoothly, leaning back against the leather seat. The three young girls instantly giggled, shifting nervously in their robes.

"Ava, you completely failed to mention a Prefect would be joining us! And Lucifer Morningstar no less!" A girl sitting across from him whispered excitedly to the Hufflepuff he had rescued outside.

"Well, Malfoy... you know how that Slytherin is always causing nothing but trouble," Ava explained, her cheeks still carrying a faint pink hue. "He was cornering me, bothering and insulting me... and he claimed he took twenty official points away from Hufflepuff."

"No, no, he didn't," Lucifer stated calmly, crossing his legs. If the castle's magical ledger worked exactly how he thought it did, an invalid deduction from a corrupt student would be overridden, and the points would automatically return to Hufflepuff. "What exactly was he saying to you before I arrived?"

Ava lowered her gaze, looking terrified to even let the words cross her lips. "W-Well... h-he was... he was saying..."

"He called her that foul, disgusting word for Muggleborns. I heard him clearly from the path," one of the unnamed girls in the corner spoke up fiercely.

"Sara!" Ava gasped, looking completely alarmed.

Sara ignored her and looked directly at Lucifer. Every student in the castle remembered the dark, lethal threats he had leveled against Malfoy over the past school years regarding blood-purity insults. The sudden, terrifying look that flashed within the depths of Lucifer's eyes right then made all three girls instantly hold their breath.

"He actually said that?" Lucifer asked, his eyes locking back onto Ava. "You told me outside you didn't know why he was yelling at you."

Ava said absolutely nothing, freezing under his intense gaze, but her guilty silence was all the confirmation his mind needed. Malfoy would be dealt with later.

Trying to break the heavy tension, Sara cleared her throat and leaned forward, her eyes shining with curiosity. "Lucifer? I—I just want to say... you are absolutely amazing! I've actually had a burning question I've always wanted to ask you."

Lucifer shifted his gaze to her, his sharp eyes noting the distinct blue-and-bronze Ravenclaw themed robes she wore. "And what would that be?"

"Do your eyes really glow a terrifying red whenever you perform magic?" Sara asked breathlessly.

A slow, wicked smirk spread across Lucifer's lips. "Only when I am actively punishing evil... or while I am performing complex wandless magic," he murmured. He held up a single, pale index finger between them. "Lumos," he whispered.

Instantly, his dark eyes glowed a vibrant, dangerous crimson just as the very tip of his finger lit up with a brilliant, hovering sphere of pure white light.

All three girls inside the carriage gasped, staring in absolute, jaw-dropping awe at the display. "That is so incredibly cool," the third girl whispered, her eyes glued to his illuminated hand.

"I know their names now, but what exactly is yours?" Lucifer asked, turning his attention to her. He noted the yellow trim on her collar.

"I'm Naomi. It's really nice to meet you, Lucifer," She said, offering a shy smile.

"You all are currently in your Third Year, correct?" Lucifer asked. The trio nodded in unison. "What elective classes did you end up choosing this term?"

"I've decided to take Arithmancy and Care of Magical Creatures," Ava said proudly.

"I'm taking Divination and Care of Magical Creatures," Naomi added.

"I settled for Ancient Runes and Muggle Studies. I'm honestly not a massive fan of dangerous magical creatures," Sara explained with a shrug.

"Well, at least none of you were foolish enough to try and take them all," Lucifer said, smirking slightly as he extinguished his wandless light.

"All of them? Wait, did someone actually take all of them?" Naomi asked, her brow furrowing.

"Hermione and I both did in our third year, yes," Lucifer chuckled, shaking his head. "And even she deeply regretted the decision by the end of the term. We officially dropped both 'Divination' and 'Muggle Studies' in April of that school year. Professor Burbage just honestly has no idea what she's talking about when it comes to actual human society. And as for Divination... I've only briefly thought about the subject again after Firenze took over the department. Professor Trelawney was the one teaching back when I took it, and she was an absolute drunk nutter. Though Harry and Ron Weasley... both swear the curriculum has gotten significantly better since the centaur took over."

"But... how on earth did you physically get to all of your classes?" Sara asked, completely trailing off as she processed his words. "Some of those periods overlap perfectly on the schedule..."

"We managed," was all Lucifer said, offering a mysterious, tight-lipped smile. He couldn't exactly tell a group of third-years about Ministry sanctioned 'Time-Turner', given that none of them were facing an overlapping schedule themselves.

The carriage continued its steady trek through the dark gates of the school. "Lucifer?" Ava said softly, breaking the brief silence.

"Hmm?"

"A-Are you... are you actually able to see the things pulling these carriages?" She asked, her voice dropping into a hesitant whisper.

"Ava, don't be silly, there is absolutely nothing—" Naomi started to chide her friend.

"You mean the Thestrals?" Lucifer interrupted, his voice turning dead calm.

Ava's eyes widened. "That's... that's what they're called?"

"Yeah," he murmured, his gaze drifting out the rain-spattered window toward the skeletal, winged horse guiding them through dark. "You can only physically see them if... if..." He paused, wondering briefly if he should shield their young minds from the grim reality.

"If what?" Ava pressed on, leaning forward.

"If you've personally witnessed death," Lucifer said simply, trying his best not to sound overly macabre about the mechanics of the magic.

A heavy, somber silence fell over the seats. "Oh..." Ava said softly, her eyes casting downward. "I... I saw my grandmother. She passed away in her hospital bed right in front of me when I was six years old..."

"I'm sorry," Lucifer said, entirely sincere.

"C-Can I ask how, er... how you can see them so clearly?" Naomi asked hesitantly, looking between Lucifer and the window.

"I have personally witnessed countless deaths over the eons," Lucifer said, his voice dropping into a dark, echo that seemed to make the very shadows of the carriage deepen.

"Oh... I'm so incredibly sorry..." Sara whispered, a sudden wave of pity washing over her face.

"Don't worry your absolute head about it," He waved over, a sharp, wicked smirk breaking through his dark expression to instantly smash the mounting tension. "I am the direct reason for most of their deaths anyway."

All three girls in the carriage froze, their eyes widening in sudden, absolute fright. They weren't necessarily afraid that he was going to turn around and hurt them, but they were suddenly terrified of ever doing anything that might make the boy truly angry.

A moment later, the carriage came to a slow, jerking stop in the cobblestone courtyard.

"Well... looks like the end of the line," Lucifer said lightly, sliding the door open and vacating the coach with effortless grace. When he stepped out onto the damp stone, followed closely by the three quiet girls, atmosphere around the castle felt entirely different than in previous years.

It felt heavy, dark, and almost smothering, a physical manifestation of the political storm and dark wizard's return looming over the school.

"It was nice meeting you three," Lucifer said, flashing them a brief, charming smile before turning away from the steps.

With a purposeful stride, he walked straight forward into the crowded entrance hall, his sharp eyes scanning the sea of black robes, entirely intent on finding Hermione.
