Chapter 318 - Ch 345 - Terror of Lucifer Morningstar~

The words hung in the damp air like poison.

Lucifer paused for a moment, 'What!? Did, did he really just--- He looked at Snape who was completely gone from this timeline, now taken over by another----then heard Hermione let out a broken, choked sob. The humiliation was too much to bear. She turned on her heel and sprinted down the corridor, her footsteps fading into distance as she fled toward Madam Pomfrey.

He looked and caught a glimpse of tear-filled eyes as she did, out of sight, and he was paralyzed to the spot, still unbelieving that Snape actually said that. Really, he shouldn't have been surprised, but he didn't think even this new version would be.. 'callous.'

Harry, Ron, and every Gryffindor there besides Lucifer, who was still in mild shock, began yelling and complaining. But only the first two had been insulting Snape, calling him names. The air around began to warp. The temperature in the corridor plummeted until the breath of students changed into "white mist."

"Let's see," Snape said in his silkiest voice, "Fifty Points from Gryffindor, and a detention for Potter and Weasley. Now get inside, or it'll be a--"

He never finished the sentence.

Lucifer came through the crowd out of nowhere, his eyes had turned a dull red, grabbed Snape by the scruff of his robes, and slammed him into the wall beside the door to his classroom. A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.

Before he had a chance to reprimand Lucifer, his throat had started being closed off from the boy's rough hands being around it, he had lifted Snape entirely off the ground with terrifying, superhuman strength, and slammed him backward into stone wall beside the classroom door. The impact cracked the mortar.

Snape's eyes bulged in shock. Before the professor could utter a single incantation, he had pressed his thumbs into larynx, and was on the verge of strangling the life out of the most 'hated' Professor at Hogwarts cutting off his air supply.

And he clawed uselessly at Lucifer's wrists, his boots kicking at the air.

But then Lucifer couldn't hide it any longer, he gave Snape just a glimpse of what felt like nothing but a feeling, pure terror, let the human facade drop completely.

His skin went deathly pale, shadows warping around his face, eyes turned into pools of burning liquid crimson. The human 'features' shifted, exposing a terrifying flash of his true Devil face, monstrous red skin, curved horns, and a presence that seemed to swallow every scrap of light in Hall.

When he spoke, it wasn't a human voice anymore, but a dual-layered, monstrous growl that vibrated right through castle foundations, hitting Snape in a harsh, guttural demonic tongue.

"Zas-ka tor-vath, mor-kane." The words sounded like grinding tectonic plates and burning flesh. Lucifer leaned right into his face, his hot sulfurous breath hitting the Professor as he hissed the translation, "Give me one reason why I shouldn't tear your soul 'from' your ribcage right now...."

Snape's face turned an asphyxiated shade of purple. The absolute certainty of his own impending death flashed behind his eyes. The arrogant, untouchable Double Agent was gone; in his place was a terrified man staring directly into 'face' of the Devil, cowering and pleading for mercy.

"P-Please don't ki----" he choked out a genuine tear of pure, primordial terror spilling over his eyelid.

"Oh you are gonna wish, that's all I did to you!" Lucifer said in what sound like a menacing tone. Before he could completely go through with it, Hermione's voice, his voice of reason, rang out in his head, telling him to stop. 'Lucifer, please, don't.'

He sneered, disgust overriding his bloodlust. With a contemptuous flick of his arm, Lucifer threw Snape across the floor, who was coughing and holding his throat gingerly. His eyes had watered and he couldn't see.

Lucifer turned around and saw the terrified looks on the 'fourth-year' Slytherins and Gryffindors, paralyzed, several of them trembling so hard, a couple dropped wands clicked against the floor.

He was furious, and he needed to get out of the Castle, and quickly. He almost sprinted up the stairs and out front doors through Entrance Hall, and burst through heavy oak front doors into biting courtyard air, just to get outside fast enough.

When he 'felt' the cold hit his face, he walked down the path and he was about twenty yards away from the Castle when he lost it, dampening on his power completely shattered.

Lucifer threw his head back and let out a catastrophic, earth-shaking roar with anger; concussive shockwaves detonated outward from his body, and explosions had sounded around him like artillery bombarding the ground, sending dirt and grass everywhere throwing massive clods of dirt and stone high into the sky.

Above him, the architectural integrity of Hogwarts paid the price. Hundreds of stained glass windows around the courtyard shattered simultaneously, raining a glittering storm of sharp shards onto the stone paths. Then, with a 'deafening', grinding roar of tearing masonry, an entire structural wall of the Castle collapsed outward, spilling heavy stone blocks below.

Specifically, it was the Transfiguration classroom. Inside exposed room, Professor McGonagall's third-year 'Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs' shrieked, scrambling backward away from the sudden, precipitous drop to the grounds.

Down by the Black Lake, Durmstrang students poured out onto the deck of their magical ship, their jaws slack. Across the lawn, Beauxbatons students scrambled out of their giant powder-blue carriage, watching the sky darken with dust and debris in absolute awe and terror, he would damage their respective living spaces.

As echoes of the cataclysm died down, suffocating pressure began to lift. Lucifer breathed heavily, the crimson fire slowly draining from his eyes, leaving them a dull, exhausted black.

Still burning with a quiet, smoldering fury, he walked heavily toward a large, intact stone pillar near the courtyard edge, and slumped against it, sliding down until he sat flat on the cold ground, his arms resting on his knees, Lucifer's breath was coming in ragged steaming gasps. The sound of frantic, hurrying footsteps crunched on the gravel.

Professor McGonagall came sprinting down the ruined path, her green robes billowing, her face completely pale as she took in the shattered windows, collapsed wall of her own classroom, and the immense crater surrounding the boy.

There was no anger in her sharp features, only a deep, profound worry.

"M-Morningstar," She breathed, her voice shaking slightly as she reached him and placed a trembling but firm hand on his shoulder, "Come with me right now. We are going to the Headmaster's office."

Lucifer awoke some time later, sitting in a chair in Dumbledore's office, he blinked his eyes several times to clear his vision and saw that the old man sat across from him, with both McGonagall and Snape flanking the Headmaster.

His mind wasn't clear, but when Dumbledore spoke, it was impossible to miss the note in his voice.

"Lucifer, I am very 'disappointed' in you... attacking a Professor like that. What could possibly have provoked you to do such a thing?"

"Mr Morningstar," McGonagall said, not giving him a chance to speak, "You have attacked Professor Snape and through your actions, there are now two black bruises where he claims you tried to choke the life out of him. Is this true?"

Lucifer was silent for a long moment, glanced at Professor Snape with a look of pure hatred, and then looked at his Head of House, "My only regret is not going through with it."

McGonagall gasped, Snape looked like he was about to take off every point Gryffindor currently had, and Dumbledore's face became Neutral, "Mr. Morningstar, what are---"

Lucifer's voice started off calm, but grew louder and more cold as he went on, "You should be thanking me for not 'killing' you, you loathsome, biased, despicable, pathetic and horrid excuse for a Human, that's why I despised your kind. A bullshit Hogwarts Professor, no less."

He was a hair-width away from following completely through with his previous attempted murder, "Did you even bother to tell them why I attacked you?"

Dumbledore was the one to speak first, "He didn't give us the whole story, I feel," he eyed Snape.

"Headmaster, I told you-"

"Just shut the fuck up, you piece of vermin," Lucifer spat, "I'll tell you what really happened, His Slytherin students have a badge that reads 'Potter Stinks as half of what it says, to taunt Harry. I mocked Malfoy and he got angry, drawing his wand, as did Harry. They both tried to curse each other, and their spells ricocheted in midair."

"Harry's hit Goyle, Malfoy's hit Hermione. Snape told him to go to the Hospital Wing, and when he looked at her, these were his exact words," Lucifer paused and looked at Snape.

"'I see no difference," he looked at Dumbledore again, "causing Hermione to cry as she ran to the Hospital Wing on her own."

Dumbledore merely looked at Lucifer for a moment, then said, "Severus, Minerva, leave us a moment."

"Headmaster, surely you don't-"

"I believe he said... to 'leave us," Lucifer looked menacingly at Snape.

Snape sneered and left, almost pulling the door off its hinges when he did. McGonagall left behind him and closed the door gently. When they were alone, Dumbledore spoke, "Lucifer, I cannot condone what you did to Professor Snape."

"I don't honestly care if you do or not, but I have only one thing to say," he stood up and walked right up to Dumbledore's desk, "if that Bastard says or does something cruel like that to Hermione one more time, I am not going to hold back. I will kill him, and take him down to hell myself!"

Lucifer turned to leave, having nothing left and not wanting to hear what Dumbledore had to say.

"Going around threatening Professors-"

"I am not threatening Snape, Headmaster!" Lucifer's voice turned up a loud notch and turned, looking at Dumbledore with his eyes, "I am making a promise to you; control 'Professor Snape', or you will suddenly find yourself lacking a Potions Master. This is his Last Chance, I will not give him another," he turned to leave.

Dumbledore knew Lucifer wasn't joking, he would have to do something about Snape, without giving away to the fact he needed the Professor at Hogwarts.

He was afraid of making Lucifer angry, quite honestly, couldn't contest the power of Merlin for very long, if at all, if he were to try and control him through force. For now, he'd have to appease Lucifer, at least a little bit, but he feared the child was taking a dark path. Only if Dumbledore knew.

Lucifer opened the door, and saw Professor Snape smiling evilly.

"Get the 'fuck' out of my way," he said, looking at Snape, and pushed past him, almost sending him stumbling.

He walked down the stairs and out into the Corridor, could only imagine how angry Hermione was going to be with him when she found out he almost strangled the life out of Snape.

She was fine with insulting him or the Slytherins if they needed it, even with 'man-handling' Draco a time or two, but physically assaulting and almost killing Professor Snape, he could see her being more than just angry.

He didn't know how much time had passed, so he wandered to the Potions classroom. Upon arriving, Lucifer discovered it was empty. He sighed and decided to return to the Common Room, 'feeling' mentally drained.

He'd check on Hermione in a little while when he was feeling better, he said the password, walked in and sat down in one of the comfy armchairs.

It was comfortable, really comfortable. Sure enough, Lucifer closed his eyes and actually fell asleep a few minutes later, condescending why didn't he make the decision of countering the hex at his girlfriend way earlier.
