Chapter 259 - Ch 284 - Do you like Twin Tails? ~Deep Tongue~

"Lucifer, how much do you know about Merlin?"

Merlin?

Lucifer didn't quite see where this was going, but he answered honestly with what he knew to the Headmaster after being summoned here cause of the Malfoy incident, "Merlin, The most 'famous' wizard of all time and the greatest wizard in British history. Founder of the 'Order of Merlin,' Slytherin's proudest student. Also the wizard with the highest pull rate on Chocolate Frog card----"

Dumbledore's mouth twitched, "You can leave that last part out. I've suggested more than once that the manufacturers raise my own card's distribution rate, but alas, they seem convinced that scarcity helps sales."

"Oh... right. Then there's the rest." Lucifer thought for a moment, sharing what he had found in his own research after first year holidays, "The 'father' of modern magic, he simplified countless spells. The 'Disarming Charm' in its practical form was his work. An absurdly talented wizard." On that point, he felt it keenly, no one really knew how strong Merlin had been at his peak.

"Professor," he added, curiosity getting the better of him, "Did Merlin really study at Hogwarts?"

Now that his interest was fully piqued, he pressed on, "I read 'Hogwarts: A History,'but it barely mentions him at all. No year of admission, no graduation date. Just that he was in Slytherin, and that he unusually supported and sympathized with Muggles! Logically speaking, for someone that famous, even if he didn't get a 'full' biography, there should at least be a dedicated chapter, right?"

If Merlin had left descendants, with his status he would've certainly been recorded among the 'Twelve Volumes of History of the Wizarding World.' Unfortunately, when Lucifer had looked into it before, the sources had been frustratingly thin, and he'd had to drop the matter.

"Well..." Dumbledore paused, choosing his words carefully. "That's a complicated question, but since we know you are his last 'Descendant.' However, many people believe Merlin was purely a legendary figure, or that he never attended Hogwarts at all, and that the school simply attached his name to itself for prestige. But the truth is... Merlin really was a Hogwarts student, just not in the conventional sense." He leaned toward the portraits lining the wall.

"Everard, perhaps you should explain. After all, you were his headmaster for three years."

Everard?

Lucifer followed Dumbledore's gaze and quickly picked out the portrait he meant. A thin old man with an enormous hooked nose stared back at him, looking perpetually half-asleep.

Compared to Phineas's constant chatter, he barely remembered this Headmaster ever speaking. Still, he knew Everard had an excellent historical reputation, often praised as one of Hogwarts' most beloved and respected headmasters, alongside Dilys Derwent.

"Merlin..." Everard murmured as his eyes slowly opened, his expression drifting into memory. After a long while, he finally spoke. "I'm only a portrait. Centuries have passed, and much has faded. But of him... I remember quite a bit. I became headmaster in 1563---"

"You're a hundred years off," Phineas interrupted. "Everard, 1563 was Undercliffe's term."

"Quiet, you flea," Everard snapped back. Lucifer casually flicked a 'Silencing Charm' at Phineas and focused on Everard, who continued, "Merlin appeared at Hogwarts without warning, term had already begun. An eleven- or twelve-year-old child simply walked in. None of the professors managed to stop him, he came straight to me. He told me his name was Merlin. Said he'd been cursed by 'Morgan le Fay' and turned into a child, and that he needed a safe place to recover. I didn't believe him at first. But his talent was undeniable, so I allowed him to enroll."

"Only later did I realize that everything he'd said was true. It wasn't just his magical ability, but was his rate of growth. In barely a month, he went from a scrawny eleven year old to a boy of fourteen or fifteen. Three months after that, he'd matured into a young man more than capable of graduating...."

"But he claimed his injuries still weren't fully healed, and said he wouldn't be leaving Hogwarts. From then on, he stayed in that form and remained at the school for three full years."

Lucifer listened intently.

"According to Merlin himself, he didn't belong to that era at all. He'd made a mistake while 'fleeing' something and ended up in Britain by accident. He chose Hogwarts because its magical aura was the strongest, which would help him recover faster. That was when the legends of 'King Arthur' began to spread. First among wizards, then among Muggles."

"He even stirred up events in the Muggle kingdoms to make the legend take root more deeply. Everything Merlin did was for one purpose: 'to go home. To return to the era that truly belonged to him."

"In our casual conversations, Merlin mentioned many figures from mythology. He even spoke of Horus."

Everard snorted softly, "He said he once stole the Eye of Horus and was hunted across the world for it. In the end, he had no choice but to return the artifact to settle the matter. When he talked about it, the 'resentment' was practically dripping from his voice."

A faint, nostalgic smile appeared on Everard's face. Clearly, those years spent with Merlin were precious memories to him. "I see..." Lucifer nodded quietly, he understood what Everard was getting at. If Horus and Merlin were real, then Isis naturally had to be real as well.

If Horus had been powerful enough to 'force' Merlin to cough up the goods and admit defeat, then his mother was hardly going to be any weaker. That alone made the 'Tears of Isis' a priceless artifact, and it really was, could bring youth by growing trees.

At the same time, Everard also dropped another piece of information, goblins had apparently known Merlin for a long time, their relationship was... 'strange.' As for the details, even he didn't know what sort of entanglements lay beneath the surface.

"Thank you for sharing this," Lucifer said politely. The old headmaster gave a small nod and closed his eyes again, drifting back to sleep.

After taking a bath, Hermione set out what she wanted to wear and did her hair. There were still ages to go until she was supposed to meet him.

Ginny was already asleep, Lavender doing her journal like usual while Parvati staring at her kinky roommate's direction.

'Aaaarrrrggh!' She could swear her watch was running backward.

Parvati had enough, she sauntered inside her curtains, then plonked down on the study chair next to her. She looked her up and down. "What's with the uniform?"

"It was requested," she explained, her face heating.

Parvati found that hilarious. "Are you going to wear your tie?"

She grinned. "Do you think I should?"

"Yes, absolutely."

Hermione fumbled in her small closet a bit. When she found it, she put it on "Better?"

Parvati nodded. "Yes. But.. . . . hold on. Let's go look in your closet."

She got up and moved towards the place where she kept her clothes, Hermione's eyes followed her in confusion.

"Look for what in my closet?"

Parvati riffled through her shirts then pulled out a fitted, white button-down blouse Hermione sometimes wore with jumpers.

"This one. Leave it untucked," she said.

Taking it to the bathroom, Hermione changed and checked herself in the mirror. It looked better. Tighter but not overtly sexual.

Innocent schoolgirl with noticeable nipple. She went out and showed Parvati's choice.

"Much better. Now shorten your skirt about three inches."

Smirking, she did as the girl suggested.

"Different shoes," She declared. Parvati pulled out a pair of her old saddle shoes and smirked. "If he wants you to look like a schoolgirl, go all the way."

Taking them from her hand, Hermione switched to the pair she'd chosen. Parvati stood and looked her up and down again then nodded with a satisfied quirk of her eyebrows.

"Excellent. But something's still missing." Standing her in front of the mirror, she scrutinized her appearance.

A mischievous smile slid across her face. "The hair. Definitely bunches."

Covering her grin with one hand, Hermione almost forgot in excitement he liked her tails, she glanced at herself in the mirror.

"I can't go through the halls like that, Parvati. The clothes I can cover up, but . . . I can't hide my hair."

She stood behind her and lifted her hair into two low pigtails with fingers. Hermione stared at her reflection. 'Damn, even I am being turned on by this new look. Lucifer'll cream his shorts!'

Seeing her expression, Parvati gave her a knowing smirk. "Told you. Just stay hidden till you get there."

She sighed and nodded. "I'll do it."

Laughing, Parvati left her in the bathroom. "What are you wearing under that getup?"

"What do you think?" she muttered. "A bra and knickers."

"I deduced that. 'What' bra and knickers?" she said, standing in the doorway.

Hermione unbuttoned her shirt and showed her the top edge of her bra.

"Is that the sexiest one you've got?"

"It's the sexiest white one I've got."

"Does it have to be white?

"If I want it to match my knickers, it does."

"He seems like the kind of boy who prefers black," Parvati said with an amused smirk.

"Yeah, but he requested white for tonight."

Both of Parvati's eyebrows perked up, she already had to cover up for her today, "Special occasion?"

Her blush was the only answer.

Parvati's grin grew. 'What are you up to, Granger?'

"I'll take that as a yes. Let's see the knickers."

Unsure if she should, she bit her lip in thought. Parvati'd helped her more than she had to, and she'd been right to inform about her hair.

Hermione felt too giddy to focus on what he liked her in at Lux, so to have a vague idea. She slid up her skirt and showed the girl her knickers.

They were sort of boring from the front, so she turned to show her the back.

Parvati's eyes widened, the back of her knickers barely covered her, showing a 'lot' of cheek; and there was a small heart cutout just above her crack.

"Bloody hell, Granger. Those are definitely the right knickers."

Hermione smiled as she smoothed down her skirt.

"What time do you have to be there?"

"Ten thirty"

Parvati checked her watch. "Finish your hair then come out and show me. I want to see it all put together."

Nodding, she watched her leave in the mirror then went to work on her hair.

It took a while, and Hermione was grateful for the distraction. When she checked her watch, it was only ten.

Walking back to the room, she stood robes in her hand. "Okay, I'm ready."

Parvati was already waiting beside the door with sparkling eyes, Lavender's gaze was now also fixed towards a new version of their bookworm roommate.

"Merlin, yes, Hermione. That's perfect!" 'I am so brilliant.'

She smiled, gnawing on her lower lip. "Really? You don't think he'll just laugh at me?"

Parvati gave her a disbelieving look. "If he does, he's insane. Just show him those knickers and it'll shut him up in a hurry."

"Thanks, Parvati. I mean it. I better get going. I don't know how long it'll take me to get there if I have to keep hiding."

She turned back to her own bed, "See you tomorrow, Hermione."

"Okay, see you."

Hermione was about to open the door when she added in a serious voice.

"Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

Hermione smiled and looked back, "Well, I thought, should pretty much do anything I want?"

Parvati laughed. "Yeah, I don't want to stifle your creativity!"

Smiling, Hermione shook her head and crept into the hallway. Her heart was already racing. She shut the door behind her and took a deep breath then began her stealthy trip to the quarter near Head Dorms.
