It was Parvati now, who walked out from the bathroom only to still find their roommate Hermione passed out face down on her bed. She looked like hell. The bushy brown mass that was her hair hid most of her face.

One of her legs hung off the side, dragging on the floor, and her robes were all twisted, not hiding her rumpled uniform at all.

"Herrrmionee," she sing songed

There was no movement from her.

Parvati got closer to make sure she was still breathing.

"Hermione," she repeated louder.

She still didn't move.

"Oi, Granger. Wake up!"

When she still didn't respond, Parvati knelt down next to her and pushed on her back, shaking her as she called her name.

"Wake up, Hermione." A mumbled sound of exhaustion came from somewhere under her hair, and she pushed her harder.

"You're about to fail all your exams, Granger!"

Her eyes snapped open. "Whaaat?"

Parvati knew that would get through. "You're going to be late for breakfast."

"Breakfast?" 'I just went to sleep!'

"Yeah, breakfast. You know, that first meal we eat in the Great Hall every morning. What time did you get back last night?"

"Dunno," she mumbled. "Four? Five?"

"You two fucked for six hours after I saw you leaving? Bloody hell."

Smiling, Hermione shook her head. "Don't be daft. We slept in between."

Parvati grinned at her.

"I think everyone's going to be suspicious if you don't show up to eat . . . or if you show up looking like that."

Hermione groaned.

'So tired....' She forced her body to sit up then held her head in her hands. "I feel awful."

Parvati sighed. "Come on, Hermione. I'll help you. Brush your teeth in the shower. I'll set out some clean clothes for you and get your books in your bag."

Her hands ran over her hair. "What am I going to do about this?"

"Just pull it back in a bun. You can try to brush it out later . . . or just hack out that giant knot."

Dragging her to her feet, Parvati steered her into the bathroom. She turned on the shower and got her toothbrush ready. Why didn't she just use a 'Dental charm', she'd never understand.

"Go on," She said, pushing her toward the shower. "I'll send Madam Pompfrey a note and ask her for something to keep you awake today."

Hermione was really thankful of her, she thought Parvati's attitude had gotten much better, when she very reluctantly apologised Lavender because of her rabbit.

Parvati left her alone in the bathroom, and she took off her clothes like the walking dead.

Her head spun as she stood under the water, brushing her teeth with her eyes shut. Tossing her toothbrush across the room into the sink, she turned and bent over.

Her hole burned as she pushed out her plug. Holding it under the spray, she studied it. 'I swear this looks bigger.'

She held up her fingers to compare the size. 'That sneaky bastard! He did this on purpose. He could have just told me.' Hermione got out and turned off the water.

When she saw her knickers on the floor, she remembered Lucifer's directive and groaned.

Picking up the soiled satin, Hermione wrapped a towel around herself and went to the door.

"Parvati, are you still in there?"

Her voice came back, "Yeah. Are you about done?"

"Yes, but . . . um . . . Lucifer said I'm not allowed to let you see me in any state of undress."

"Okay," she agreed. "I'm leaving."

When Hermione heard the other door shut, she peeked out. Parvati was really gone. She went over to the clothes she'd set out for her and got dressed as fast as she could, leaving her smelly panties for last.

She ran her fingers through her hair as she stood in front of the mirror, and her eyes caught sight of her two scars on the palm of her hand.

Hermione stared at them for a few seconds; she hadn't even felt the pain of the shards from the mug after she crushed it in her hand. She balled her hand into a fist, holding her hand close to her chest.

She wondered what kind of pain Lucifer had experienced when his back had gotten cut up during his training ('being hidden'), or if he didn't feel the pain like she didn't; Hermione would never know.

After doing her best to pull her hair into some semblance of a bun, she sighed and rushed out to the corridor.

"God, I just hope others can't smell my knickers from last nig---??"

Parvati who was outside, so she could hand the bag to her. "....We're only about eight minutes late. Let's go, you don't smell any worse than usual."

Her palms pressed harder to her already hot cheeks.

"Oh, God," Hermione whispered. "I thought you left downstairs!"

"...Did you really wear them?"

She groaned. "L-Lucifer said I have to wear my knickers from last night all day today."

'Great, now I'm going to be thinking about that all day....' Parvati wiped away her smile then reached out and pulled down the bushy-haired girl's hands. "Anything else you have to say?"

"Today, he wants me to stay with him all night; and he said you should cover for me if anything happens."

"He wants you to stay all night?"

That was 'very' interesting.

"That was my reaction too," she said. "You think he's getting soft?"

'No, I think he's falling for you.' Parvati gave her a sarcastic grin. "I don't think you'd be into him if he was."

She blushed brighter.

"Come on," Parvati said, pulling her arm. "I'm starving. Let's go!"

Hermione was relieved she hadn't laughed at her too much. They walked together to the Great Hall and muttered bye's to each other at the door.

On the very first day of term, the students clearly hadn't adjusted to waking up early yet. They drifted out of their common rooms and into the Great Hall like ghosts, dark circles hanging under their eyes.

Either that, or they hadn't slept at all, staying up entire night frantically finishing homework. As they passed House points board at the entrance to the Great Hall, almost everyone slowed down without realizing it, their expressions turning strange.

Hogwarts used to track House points using gemstones: rubies for Gryffindor, sapphires for Ravenclaw, emeralds for Slytherin, and yellow diamonds for Hufflepuff. The more gems a House had, the higher its score.

For the past three years, Gryffindor had practically overflowed the board.

This year, though, the points display had undergone a major overhaul. Ravenclaw's and Hufflepuff's hourglasses were completely empty, while the bottoms of Slytherin's and Gryffindor's already held a noticeable pile of black gems.

When Lucifer and Snape came up by a mere coincidence, plenty of students were still gathered around. The moment someone noticed the old bat's dark expression, the crowd scattered instantly, terrified of getting caught in the fallout.

"What were you thinking?" He stared at Snape with a head 'full' of question marks, what was going on in this brain? "Don't tell me Professor McGonagall got to you yesterday. No, wait. It must've been Flitwick and Sprout teaming up and hitting you with the 'Imperius Curse. Two hundred points," Lucifer went on, "Do you not want to break the curse of 'seven-year' winning streak anymore?"

Snape didn't reply. His expression darkened further as he realized he'd overthought everything yesterday. Lucifer clearly hadn't been worried about Malfoy at all. And he shouldn't take the chance to be petty; in the end, he'd only hurt himself.

Clicking his tongue, he knew he couldn't explain himself, not without making a fool. If he tried, Lucifer would laugh himself to death. So, Snape forced together an excuse.

"Prominence invites criticism. After winning for so many years in a row, Slytherin has already become the common enemy of the other three houses.... I'm deliberately easing off. We'll slowly catch up, then surge ahead again before the end of the year." The more he spoke, the more reasonable it sounded to him. By the end, he was downright confident. "If you win the 'Tri-wizard' Tournament, Dumbledore will definitely give you points. At least two or three hundred, two-year streak would be effortless."

That made Lucifer to catch his breath, realising Snape wanted to somehow get past the Age-line criteria, and then participate from Slytherin's House, he internally noted that his Potions Professor was actually blind to what's happening in the new timeline, he still thought Slytherin had won House Cup in 'first' and 'third' years, the man was stuck in a Temporal loop, "Professor, who told you I'm entering the competition, illegally no less?"

"You're not?" Snape hadn't expected that answer, "You were ready to enter Dueling tournament last time!"

Titling his head, the boy sighed deeply with a tone of nostalgia, "Do you believe me... if I say that the moment my name got announced I'm competing, both 'Durmstrang and Beauxbatons' will withdraw by this afternoon? Besides, I have a ton of responsibilities with the Ranking system, okay? I don't have time to play House games with students. The one competing this time is Daphne Greengrass from our house. Didn't I tell you last time?"

For the sake of his professor, Lucifer decided it was better to keep a bit of dignity. The old bat stared at the boy expressionlessly, "You're sending a Greengrass into Tournament? Planning to switch girlfriends?"

"Don't underestimate her," he snorted while staring at the Darkened glass of Gryffindor, "I trained Daphne specially for this."

Snape's interest stirred, he didn't know the full extent of Lucifer's methods, only that boy always seemed to have... endless trump cards. Judging by that confident look, could Daphne really take 'first' place?

"I'll be waiting for you to prove me wrong." With that, Snape strode into the Great Hall, rubbing his eyebrows, it seemed another headache was coming today.

Giving him a sympathetic look, Lucifer headed for the Gryffindor's dining table, only Ginny and Hermione seemed to have remained with their original faces, while the rest of the girls now bore as complete strangers to him, they just shared the name but nothing else.

He felt a bit bad for his own Ginny Weasely in the Gremory's Estate, who didn't have her own parents there, and she had cried for days.

The Twins were clutching a thick book, flipping through it in search of some magical method to make themselves older and slip past the age line, while Ron's gaze kept drifting towards them involuntarily.

Fred and George Weasley had already claimed one of the champion slots in their minds and were arguing fiercely over which of them would compete.

Plenty of younger students were also tempted by the massive reward and the glory that came with it.

Several of the Tri-wizard events weren't purely about Dueling ability. Otherwise, it would just be a Wand's Battling Tournament. If that wasn't the case, then maybe they had a shot at winning too, after passing the Age Restrictions.

Ginny watched Ron daydreaming and looked like she might choke on her own disdain. Fred and George fantasizing was one thing. Their grades weren't great, but that didn't mean they were stupid. If anything, they were sharp, just uninterested in useless academic knowledge.

They knew more weird and obscure spells than she did. If they competed, they might actually get a decent result. 'But Ron? What exactly did he have? An overactive imagination and a fully planned budget for how to spend those thousand Galleons?'

Sitting next to Lucifer, Hermione did not dare to glance at his face, knowing he was most inwardly laughing at her.

Ginny leaned over from the other side, "You all right?"

Hermione nodded. "Just didn't sleep much."

Ginny nodded sympathetically, while Lucifer put some food on his girlfriend's plate, with a smiling expression which she really wanted to scratch away. As she listened to Ron and Harry talk to Neville about how their new Time tables would be, Hermione was trying her best to eat through the fog in her head.

Her stomach was growling, but it exhausted her just to chew, knowing fingers on the left thigh weren't helping either.

She wanted to bite him off. The owl post came, and a small phial dropped in front of her plate. The tag bore her name. She turned it over, Minute writing on the back read:

'Will keep you awake for a day. You'll crash when it wears off. Be careful.'

A bright yellow liquid filled the tiny glass tube. She pulled out the cork and downed the whole thing.

Harry, Ron, Ginny, and Neville all looked at her in shock.

Ron's jaw dropped open, showing everyone his half-chewed waffle. "Hermione, did you just drink a mysterious potion that an owl dropped on your plate?"

Her cheeks burned. "Uh . . . yeah. It was something I was expecting. Not really mysterious."

Her friends all glanced at each other.

Lucifer was just quietly munching on his toast, Hermione wondered if he was creeping inside her heard again.

None of them wanted to embarrass her if she was taking something for a problem she wanted to keep private.

After a few awkward seconds, they went back to eating and talking. Her head started to clear, and in less than a minute, she felt good as new.

Hermione shifted her over the table to glance at her roommates, she would definitely gift her a new make-up kit this year.
