Chapter 4 - An ability meant for gods

Loubing stood up, her body felt surprisingly light.

She looked up and felt the spiritual Qi flowing out of the tree. It must be the reason why all her injuries had healed.

She turned to Moyan, she must have been the one who brought her here. She bowed, it would be considered rude to not thank one's saviour.

"Thank you for helping me. I shall repay my debt to you, one day.."

Moyan smiled, she got up and walked to Loubing.

"So you grew up in the heavenly realm, the mortal realm could never produce such a lovely gem.."

Lovely gem? Loubing raised a brow? Was she talking about her.

"You must be mistaken, in the heavenly realm. I was a dirty, ugly toad. I don't have the beauty you speak off.."

She bowed again, it was time for her to leave.

"I shall take my leave now.."

"Loubing.."

Ye Feng walked towards her, was she going to leave without him?

"I physically could not come to you, I was locked up, I was released when you came of age and spent my days searching for you. I'm nothing more than a beast, one your parents found to ease your boredom. I wished I could come to aid your suffering, but I couldn't escape my prison.."

Loubing didn't say anything, could she trust him? He could be altering her memories for all she knew.

Still, hearing he knew her parents gave her hope.

"How do I know you really knew my parents? If you really knew them, them they must have left something behind.."

Ye Feng snapped his fingers, she was right, her parents really did leave something behind.

He brought a necklace, as he walked to her, she took a step back. His height made him seem really domineering.

"This was what they left behind. You have to place your blood on it, to activate it.."

Loubing eyed it, she was in unfamiliar territory, she couldn't let herself be swayed.

"Loubing, even if the whole world is against you. I will always be for you. I, Ye Feng will not harm you.."

Loubing didn't say anything, she accepted the necklace, bit on her until the surface had turned red, then placed her finger over the necklace.

Drop!

In less than a second, a bell chime was heard and Loubing was frozen in her place.

Loubing's vision blurred. Her body felt weightless, then as if it had been torn apart and reassembled.

When her eyes adjusted, she was no longer in the mortal realm. She stood in a vast, luminous space. Spiritual Qi flowed like rivers in every direction, shimmering with colors she had never seen.

Above her, a staircase stretched across the sky, leading to countless doors aligned like sentinels.

A voice broke the silence, smooth and teasing.

"Well, well… awake at last. About time, don't you think?"

Loubing turned sharply. A man stood before her. Tall, elegant, and impossibly handsome.

His free-flowing hair framed a flawless face, and his blue eyes gleamed with sharp intelligence and a teasing glint. His regal clothes hinted at nobility, but the looseness of his hair and the ease of his posture gave him an untamed, peerless aura.

Every movement and detail radiated power and confidence beyond any mortal she had seen.

"I am Qi Ran.." he said with a bow that carried both mockery and authority. "Keeper of this Space. And you… are Jiu Loubing. Welcome."

Loubing's breath caught. His height, his aura, his wild elegance. It made her feel small and alert at the same time.

Loubing narrowed her eyes. "Space? Keeper? What is this place? Where am I?"

Qi Ran's grin widened. "This is your inheritance, your sanctuary, and your training ground. This Space exists outside the mortal realm and Heaven alike. Only you and I may enter. And yes… I will be your guide, whether you like it or not."

Loubing's hands clenched. "Can you explain. Why am I here? And why does this Space belong to me?"

Qi Ran's eyes flicked toward her finger, still resting over the necklace. "Ah… that necklace of yours. Your blood unlocked it. It is not a mere trinket, it is a gateway. And now your consciousness has been transferred here. This Space is bound to you. It will nurture you, protect you, and teach you… if you can survive my guidance."

Loubing's eyes widened, with a place like this she could do anything.

Qi Ran circled her, what an interesting girl.

"You alone, you are a full powerhouse. Incredible.." he smiled, her abilities were both a blessing and a curse.

"What do you mean?"

He stepped closer, watching her carefully. "You have dragon blood. To be a descendant of the great dragon. Very rare and very potent. But your spirit root… it is cracked. You have what we call a Chaotic spirit root. And the techniques for it is as rare as the root itself. That makes controlling your Qi extremely difficult. Sometimes it flows freely, sometimes it clogs. It can harm you if you're not careful."

Loubing stroked her chin, this just raised the stakes. Was this why she wasn't able to cultivate in heaven, despite everything she did.

She physically couldn't.

Qi Ran held up a hand, letting streams of Qi drift past her. "And there is more. You have a special ability, the Forsaken Heaven's Eyes. Extraordinary. They let you see the flow of Qi, threads of fate, another person cultivation level, energy currents that no mortal can perceive." he pinched his brows, a powerful ability destined to a pitiful little girl.

He sighed."But until you reach god-level cultivation, you must never reveal this to anyone. It is too dangerous. I'm serious Loubing, you cannot reveal this to anyone or risk going blind. Many people will be after your eyes, once it is revealed.."

Her heart skipped. "It's that powerful? I thought such a thing was a myth?"

Qi Ran nodded, he also thought that was the case but not anymore.

"An ability meant for gods. Do you know what that means for you?"
