Chapter 23 - ITS BUSINESS!!

The messages Nitish had received were nothing short of shocking.

Congratulations! Your Goruden Breastplate has been sold in the Auction House for 78 copper coins.Congratulations! Your Goruden Breastplate has been sold in the auction for 1 silver coin!Congratulations! Your Slin Knife has been sold in the auction for 7 copper coins!

All of Nitish's Slin Knives and Breastplates had been sold. After everything was accounted for, he had earned a total of 4 silver coins. Technically, the items were worth 5 silver coins, but the auction house had deducted its own transaction fee.

"I can't believe there's such a high demand for breastplates," Nitish muttered in disbelief. He quickly decided that he would craft and sell as many breastplates as possible. After all, with demand soaring, now was the perfect time to maximize profit.

"I think I'll have to charge Killshot even more," he thought to himself—just as a call from Killshot popped up on its own.

"He really does have a long life," Nitish muttered, already knowing exactly why he was getting this call.

"BRO! YOUR BREASTPLATES ARE INSANE! Do you even know what's going on in town right now? Everyone wants your breastplate—especially the tanks! In fact, the parties that are currently using them managed to clear the dungeon in normal mode with ease. And now... they're preparing to raid it in hell mode!" Killshot sounded completely blown away.

"Oh yeah? Is that so? Alright then, listen carefully—don't tell anyone that I'm the one making these breastplates. Instead, spread the word that a forger named Dragon Emperor is behind them. Same goes for the knives," Nitish instructed him firmly.

"For real? Okay, bro, if that's what you want. I guess you're not really into fame, huh? Well, I respect that. But seriously, when are you giving me my breastplates?" Killshot was growing eager to get his hands on the armor.

"Don't worry. As soon as you provide the materials, I'll forge the breastplates for you. But listen—the deal's not 1.5x anymore. It's now double the cost. Hope that's not a problem?" Nitish stated clearly.

"Not at all, man. Honestly, I was thinking of increasing your payment anyway. Don't worry, your bro's not gonna let you down. Just give me as many breastplates as you can manage," Killshot replied without hesitation.

Nitish said goodbye, ending the call with a satisfied smile as he began to think about his next move.

After a brief moment of contemplation, he began walking deeper into the forest. Around 30 minutes later, he spotted a chest in the distance—hidden within the hollow trunk of a tree. It was nearly impossible to detect.

"Yes! First loot of the day," Nitish said eagerly as he rushed over to inspect it. It was a Bronze-rank chest.

He opened it, triggering a loading bar that appeared on the screen. After about five seconds, the chest unlocked. Inside, there were three items: a staff, a knife, and a whetstone.

The staff was of Common rank, and the knife was Bronze rank, but it was the whetstone that really caught Nitish's attention.

The Whetstone was a rare item that could restore up to 10 durability points of any weapon. In Celestial Domain, durability was an extremely important mechanic. If the durability of your weapon or armor dropped too low, the item could break permanently. In fact, low-durability gear often didn't even function properly during combat.

Nitish quickly used the whetstone on his sword. He had been using the Harbinger Katana for quite a while now, and its durability had dropped significantly. Those 10 restored points were crucial for him.

After roaming around the Red Mist Forest for nearly six hours, Nitish had found a total of nine chests—five of them Common and four Bronze. While the loot wasn't exactly impressive, Nitish knew he had to leave soon—it was almost time for his deal with Killshot.

He sprinted back toward Pink Blossom Town, making it there in just under four hours.

As soon as he arrived, Nitish headed straight to the Town Hall and sent a message to Killshot. Within five minutes, a man approached him—sent by Killshot—carrying several bags filled to the brim with materials. The man had used multiple inventory slots to bring them all.

"Here you go, Sir Smight. Your supplies," the man said respectfully.

He seemed like a relatively new player, visibly thrilled that Killshot had entrusted him with such an important task.

Nitish quickly transferred all the materials into his storage ring, which immediately maxed out its capacity. He had to start placing the remaining items into his bag slots. Even Nitish was a little stunned—Killshot had sent him an enormous amount of materials.

And this was only about 60% of the total payment.

"No matter how strong an individual is, they can never truly compete with a guild," Nitish thought to himself.

"Sir, once you've finished crafting the armor, please let me know. I'll personally come to collect it from you," the man added politely.

Nitish nodded and, carrying the materials, made his way back to the Forging Room. Upon arrival, he handed over a silver coin and booked a private room once again.

CLANK! CLANK!

The rhythmic pounding of Nitish's hammer echoed through the chamber as he melted metals and shaped them with precision. He was completely focused.

With the amount of material Killshot had provided, Nitish calculated that he could forge around 45 breastplates. Out of those, 30 would go to Killshot, and the remaining 15 he planned to sell on the market.

Whatever additional materials Killshot sent as final payment—those would be Nitish's to keep.
