Chapter 8 - Lucian The Warlock : Chapter 8. Meeting his uncle

Umy opened the soft thatch door and inside was a person with deep red hair.

His body looked like it had only boned and skins left.

He was laying there with a high tech bed with many tubes attached to him.

His eye's closed, his breathing supported by a machine.

the room had many floating bots that help to regulate his health.

on top of each bot was screens of games being played.

walking into the room, the first thing was the difference in brightness compared to the morning light outside.

then the smell of medicinal herbs could be sniffed.

the smell was great, however their was a hint of rot somewhere Lucian could not pinpoint.

paint rhythmic beeps of machine tracked the heart of the dead looking person.

"Lucian deer, this is your uncle Ignis, He may look like a living mummy. However he still has enough energy to multi run 8 games at a time." Umy's introduction felt odd while she went to sit down on a large chair.

She conjured up a wooden chair for Lucian and gesture him to sit.

A husky laughter was heard.

Lucian then Noticed that Ignis eye's which were closed began to open.

His eye's were deep Red while his pupils were deep black.

Lucian began to remember that His uncle never opened his eye's ever.

not even when he was spooked or surprised.

Lucian was quiet as he stared.

His uncle was struggling to even move his eye's slowly towards him.

his lips began to move, which Lucian thought he wanted something to say.

Lucian wanted to get closer, to hear his uncle.

however Ingis mouth suddenly closed but his eye's were firm on Lucian.

"testing, testing. Lucian can you hear me?" a very charming voice could be heard.

This voice was in fact calm and very charming.

it showed that even when he looked like a mummy his mind was still bright and healthy.

Lucian was stunned, Ignis his uncle had such a contrasts to his ratchet state.

"Did I frighten you? Well seeing me in my death state, I had hoped you would be sadder."

Lucian was amazed and confused. did his aunt lie about how dire Ignis condition was?

"I had thought you were unable to show the same energy as before." Lucian set down next to his aunt while he reached for the hand of his Uncle.

holding the hand of a familiar person who is sick or unwell, was a sign of trust and hope.

His hands were cold and his pulse was unable to be felt.

"That is true. My body feels like it could die at any moment. which would be bad since I can't have fun with your aunt." Ignis boasted.

Lucians cheek immediately blushed while Umy chuckled.

Her real voice was faintly heard, which was dangerous enough for a mortal like Lucian.

"ow! ow! Ok I'm sorry, I won't do that again." Ignis was suddenly screaming in pain all around Lucian.

Lucian was sitting up immediately to see what was wrong, still he was told that everything was okay by his aunt.

apparently everything was okay and that nothing terrible had happened.

it seemed Umy was giving him a mind torture for his inappropriate joke.

second later, Lucian was able to compose himself as he asked a question.

"are you going to be okay uncle ignis?" Lucian had a worried look.

He was biting down on his lips, he knew that something was up.

"sigh. this is not that bad, unlike you my young nephew I have lived long enough to worry less. this world is too complex to understand its very making. your wound are of many and it cannot compare to the rest of this world." Ignis tone felt old and tired.

Lucian listened to his uncle set in a comfortable mood as he became familiar with him again.

as he talk about the happening of 14 years in just minutes, Lucians eye's became more worn down.

Ignis stopped then and gave Lucian minutes to think and contemplate.

"I'm happy and glad to see you again. because unlike me you were but a scrub when I cherished you, My sisters only son. So I'm glad, and I hope you can recover and forgive us for this shameful mistake."

A sudden large hand was pressed on Lucian's left shoulder before he was moved closer to his aunt.

"I am sorry Lucian. As much as we wanted to find you, mistakes happened to interfere with your search." Umy whispered, but her words became louder before lucian could say anything.

"your mothers death was sudden and with all the trouble chaos had cost me, I was far too busy. my sister, your mother. She died from a bite, knowing her she was most likely killed by your father." Her voice sounded pained and wrathful.

Lucian felt grief as well. He didn't know his mother had died while he was locked away.

this was a revelation too sudden for his mental health to endure.

Sure Lucian was happy to be rescued, in fact he was incredibly grateful.

still he was only taking everything new in as he was wondering when his mother would show up.

Lucian for the first time felt hope shatter again deep inside.

this was a feeling he would never forget.

14 years he was locked away and 14 years he waited.

Lucians eye's went dim and he fell motionless on the spot.

still before he could even fall, Umy grabbed him by his chest.

"why did you have to reveal it so early?" Ignis was irked and furious at his wife.

his red eye's looked up at her.

Umy Immediately moved her gaze away.

she had let it slipped again, being so powerful had come at a cost.

Even when she tried to hide it or give some resemblance of emotion or empathy.

Umy felt less emotion the longer she lived.

In fact in her record, she slaughtered her way to urdaks throne. she was brutal and careless.

any lingering attachments to Urdak was purged and it needed to be purged fully.

this was the most dire over dire, not one Adom was permitted to pass.

others who were aware of the threat joined in her swift but brutal crusade to cleanse and secure what was left of anything at all.

They needed a god and here she is. A living breathing god struggling to even breath or eat.

in fact she had almost forgotten how warm food could be with someone close to her.

She needed to stay close to her emotions and cherish it before it would all slip away.

"Sorry, I think I am happy. and I know this was a slip of the tongue." She tried to explained.

Ignis even without showing much had looked away from her whimpering gaze and looked back at Lucian.

He took a deep breath before looking back at her.

"take care of him, please. He's the only family I regret hating. Layman's are the pride of old humans, and even now I am disgusted by vampire blood running through his blood." moments of silent went by while Umy tuck Lucian on her lap.

"maybe this retched state is what I have deserved." Ignis stated.

he was upset with his condition, but he was also an otherworld from a different dimension.

Years he wished to return, but slowly he was also convince by the woman he married.

"I will. Please be careful of your health. I'll find a way to recover you." Umy then kissed him.

she then disappeared away in the blink of an eye.

In all his years, something finally went his way.

Ignis smiled and then his eye's slowly closed as he went into slumber.
