Chapter 33 - Han Yuyan

The elderly man who emerged from the car appeared extremely old, yet surprisingly spirited. His silver-white hair was meticulously groomed, and his eyes, far from cloudy like an ordinary old person's, were sharp and extraordinary.

Despite his lean stature, he stood straight and held a cane in his hand. Tapping it lightly on the stone floor, he straightened his back, surveying Wan Lai Fu before him.

This elderly man was Han Xi, aged 97 this year. Having experienced the 'Vegetarian Movement' in the past, he was a living relic. The Han Group he founded was one of the largest enterprises in China.

Han Xi himself was a renowned gourmet both domestically and internationally. Standing here, he exuded the aura of someone in a higher position, displaying an extraordinary demeanour.

The journalists invited by Yang Yong quickly took photos as the car approached. Yang Yong promptly greeted Han Xi with a smile, "Mr. Han, you've arrived."

"Isn't that obvious? If I hadn't arrived, who's the person in front of you?" Han Xi snorted; his words unusually ruthless.

Yang Yong's beaming smile immediately froze on his face.

At the same time, the door on the other side of the car opened, and a young woman in her early twenties stepped out. She had long, flowing black hair and exquisite features, exuding a subtle yet undeniable chill.

What left a lasting impression was her pair of slender, well-shaped legs encased in denim, tempting onlookers to steal more glances. Combined with the cold aura on her pretty face, she radiated a compelling mature charm.

Approaching the elderly man, she warmly embraced his arm before addressing Yang Yong, "You must be Manager Yang, right? I heard that the head chef of your restaurant, Chef Tian, is preparing a chicken feast for my grandfather. He's been eagerly looking forward to it."

Hearing the girl's words, Yang Yong couldn't help glancing at Han Xi. The old man had a facial expression as if everyone owed him money. Where was the anticipation?

Of course, he dared not say this out loud and quickly chuckled, "Mr. Han, please come in quickly. We closed the restaurant today specifically to avoid disturbing you."

"Closing the doors of a well-operating restaurant to welcoming guests just for business?" Han Xi's voice was icy as he spoke, " If this restaurant were mine, I would definitely fire you as a manager first."

Yang Yong's face twitched slightly, hastily offering flattering words, "I'm just trying to prevent any inconvenience for you, Mr. Han."

"Hmph! Ass kisser!"

The old man left this remark behind as he walked into the restaurant first. The young woman naturally followed him.

Yang Yong's face was red with embarrassment. He had heard that Mr. Han had a bad temper, and he had no idea how many people had suffered at his hands. Today, he had finally seen it for himself.

As Han Xi, assisted by the girl, was about to enter the grand entrance of Wan Lai Fu, a car suddenly screeched to a halt not far away. The door opened, and a person rushed out, emitting a series of screams.

It was indeed Fang Jun's car, and when they were about to reach Wan Lai Fu, for some unknown reason, the chicken cage suddenly burst open with a loud crack. The Tibetan chicken, in particular, was in a frenzy, flapping and leaping around. Fang Jun had no choice but to stop the car and hastily escape.

From a distance, feathers flew everywhere, and Ye Chui, along with Tian Xiaodu and Fang Jun, frantically chased the chaotic chicken, creating a lively scene.

The girl, who was holding Han Xi's arm, who had a somewhat chilly demeanor, couldn't help but burst into laughter at the sight. It was as if a rose had blossomed in the cold winter, stunning everyone.

Her eyes lingered for a few extra seconds on a certain figure —Ye Chui.

Perhaps because the Tibetan chicken held a particular grudge against Ye Chui, it was currently flying around Ye Chui's head in a chaotic manner.

The surrounding journalists, engrossed in taking pictures, hadn't paid attention to Ye Chui's group. However, upon witnessing the girl's smile, they were all momentarily stunned.

The girl and Han Xi didn't linger any longer and swiftly entered Wan Lai Fu.

"Who is that girl accompanying Han Xi? She's so beautiful," a journalist asked his friend.

"That's Han Xi's most beloved granddaughter, Han Yuyan. She's currently working with Han Xi wherever he goes. Han Xi takes her everywhere he visits."

"I see."

After a considerable effort, Tian Xiaodu and Fang Jun finally managed to catch the untamed chicken. Tian Xiaodu, with his plump figure, even got scratched on his forehead, leaving a bloodstain.

Nearby, Fang Jun wasn't faring any better, looking distressed. Though unharmed, his car's leather seats were now in tatters, covered in chicken feathers and a few splatters of chicken droppings.

Surveying the damage, Fang Jun, who cherished his car the most, couldn't help but look at Ye Chui with a touch of anger. "Can't you watch over this chicken properly!?"

"Maybe it doesn't like your car. I can't help it," Ye Chui chuckled, holding the Tibetan chicken by its neck, its wings still flapping incessantly.

Fang Jun, with a red-eyed glare, was about to argue further when Tian Xiaodu kicked him and said, "Why are you making a fuss? I got scratched on my forehead, but I'm not complaining. Han Lao has already arrived over there. Let's not stand here; let's go inside!"

"..."

Fang Jun gritted his teeth and didn't say anything more, but his discontent was evident in his large, resentful eyes.

Ye Chui chuckled, lifted the other two chickens, and Tian Xiaodu carried the ingredients he had prepared. Together, they headed toward the side entrance specially arranged for the kitchen.

Fang Jun, looking at his battered car, wore an increasingly cold expression.

In the Wan Lai Fu kitchen, a group of chefs was bustling around, preparing dishes for Han Xi's evaluation. Han Xi wasn't just here for a meal; Yang Yong had invited this renowned gourmet to critique the restaurant.

The highlight was Ye Chui's chicken feast, along with several other signature dishes from Wan Lai Fu. Han Xi's granddaughter, Han Yuyan, had also joined him for the tasting.

Observing the chaos in the kitchen, Ye Chui couldn't help but smile. "Looks like it's going to be an interesting day."

The kitchen was spacious, and Tian Xiaodu had specially reserved the best spot for Ye Chui.

For Ye Chui, the chefs here held great admiration for his culinary skills, especially after the recent spicy chicken dish. However, when they saw Ye Chui carrying three live chickens, they couldn't help but feel a sense of disbelief.

After all, with the recent lift on the meat ban, slaughtering animals wasn't part of their usual tasks. The meat they used for cooking, whether it was chicken, duck, or fish, was always pre-prepared.

For these chefs, there was a certain disdain for the act of slaughtering animals. As a result, they started discussing the matter among themselves.

"Why is everyone wasting time? Get to work, everyone! Today, our guest is a top-tier gourmet. If there's any negligence, don't expect any good outcomes for yourselves!" Tian Xiaodu immediately shouted, and the discussions in the kitchen ceased. The authority of this plump man was not to be taken lightly. He then cheekily moved next to Ye Chui. "Little brother, need a hand?"

"No need, you just stay on the side," Ye Chui casually waved his hand.

"Alright." Tian Xiaodu nodded quickly and retreated to the side.

The other chefs couldn't help but feel a sense of discontent in their hearts...
