I fluttered my eyes open slowly and was greeted by the early morning sunshine.
I put hand over my face to block the ray of sunshine and turned to see where I was.
I was in my bed in the healer's quarters.
And then I froze instantly.
How had I even gotten here?
I attempted to get up but my body felt like it was on fire.
"Don't get up." Came mother's family voice.
I looked up and saw her come in with a steaming plate.
"Your body should still ache." She said as she came to my side.
A piece of leaf landed from my forehead to my laps.
It was one of those leaves mother usually placed on her patients whenever they were ill with a fever.
She helped me adjust onto my back whilst she set up the pillows.
"There." She said as I leaned in.
It felt much comfortable.
She turned and shoved a bowl of brewing chicken soup in my face.
"How did I-
"Shhh." Mother gently hushed me.
She picked up the spoon and nodded at me to open my mouth.
