The ground vibrated. It didn't shake, nor quake, it really vibrated, beset with a subtle tremor that ran through it like a current running through a dead body. It didn't bring it back to life, but it was enough for what Lucas wanted.
Before the tremor could subside, he stood up and went to place his hand on the pyramid, first at an inch before its surface, before he crossed the last bit of distance, having felt nothing.
The tremors took half a minute to a minute to subside, and it was only then that the three who had been observing stopped holding back their curiosity. When Lucas took his hand back and took a step back to get a better view of the pyramid, Estrella came over and asked:
"What did you find out?"
Her tone carried a certainty that made the other two pairs of ears behind her that had shuffled closer twitch a few times in anticipation.
Lucas smiled toward her back, then glanced at her:
"The planet was plundered just a few years ago."
