The vehicle moved through the lower district.
At first, the streets still looked decent. The roads were clean, and the buildings were old but still looked modern.
But as they went deeper, the scenery slowly changed.
The buildings became shorter and more crowded. The glass panels disappeared, replaced by rusted metal sheets, patched walls, and cheap reinforced boards.
The roads were still paved, but cracks spread across them like veins. Formation lamps stood farther apart here, and some no longer worked at all.
The light they gave off was dim, making the whole place look dull even in daylight.
Rovan looked out the window and frowned.
He had seen worse slums on other planets. Compared to those places, this one was still far cleaner and more orderly.
There were no piles of corpses, no collapsed roads filled with sewage, and no gangs openly fighting in the streets.
But it was still one of the worst areas on the planet.
This was Proxima, an A-grade planet.
