Alice didn't reply to Karr.
She looked at the marauders coming at them. If they ran now, the survivors would inform the others and follow them into the tunnel.
"Kill them all," Alice said.
Karr's eyes narrowed.
A crossbowman lifted his weapon again, trying to find a clear line through the rubble. Alice didn't give him time. She rushed through the broken wall.
SWOSSSH!!!
The bolt missed its target.
Before he could take another shot, Alice was already in his face. Her knife stabbed into his wrist, then into his jaw. He dropped without even realizing what happened.
Without Silen as a burden, her speed rose many times over, catching the marauders by surprise.
Karr went straight for the other crossbowman.
SLASH! SLASH!
He cut the man's hand, then cut his throat as he tried to scream. The crossbow fell to the ground without firing a single bolt.
The situation reversed at once.
Before, the marauders were hunting. Now they became the prey.
The marauders started to panic.
