Her body turned into particles of light and appeared near the edge of the opening. A wall of red fog blocked her way.
She tried to enter the fog again, but this time it felt solid, like a barrier in front of her.
She tried to destroy it with her power, but each strike only pushed the fog back and created more space.
It did not open a path.
Her heart beat faster. Adrenaline rushed through her veins.
"Luminere!"
The wisp of light flew toward Emily.
The hexagon crystals moved around her and attached to her body. They formed a layer of crystalline armor.
She raised her hand and braced for an attack.
She had a reason for this caution. She could tell the creature inside the crater was still alive and still strong.
Just as she expected, something shot out from inside the crater. A projectile flew up into the sky.
It exploded and turned into a rain of liquid.
SHHH!!!
Emily watched as the immortal corpses below began to melt the moment the liquid touched them.
