Chapter 78 - William Leoda: The Simp & The Battle Junky

"Everyone rest up and prepare your gears, we move out in an hour" Daniel said to the man and woman behind them.

The rest of the Red Grave move back and settled themselves in on the bridge.

"Willy, you can drop that bastard head now, as much as your father want me to stop you, l won't, l know my sister will probably hate me for this, for putting her son in harm way but what must be done have to be done" Daniel said and glance at Allen to see his reaction to his statement.

But all he got from Allan was a bite on his lower lips. Unwillingness to accept this particular fact that he could not save his own son from this generational revenge against the king.

"You may probably have a ton of questions but the gist of it all is that that blood sucking bat killed both your mother's and father's families all because our father's believes in what was right for humanity, and they dare to question him"

"And since my sister was also on to him, they choose to now kill her too, have been planning and gathering these few that has had similar experiences of the genocide our families faced to fight with me, and your help with be welcomed" Daniel finished his statement and shift from one feet to the other as he looks William dead in the eyes and wait for his response to all he had said.

"I don't really care about whether what you believe is good for humanity or not, l only want to take revenge on the person who gave the kill order on my mother, and if it this so called king, he will also die or l die, nothing more nothing less" William said, as he dropped the head of the king's spear.

He looked towards his father.

"Do you regret it?".

Allen finally looked his son in the eyes, since the night of his mother's death.

"While l do not regret giving my wife the go ahead that lead to her death, l do regret not giving her my full support and all the helps she needed, l regret my own cowardice toward what she believed, l regret not giving her this strength that l pride myself on" Allen said softly, all the while starring deeply into his son's eye.

"And what about now father?" William asked still staring at his father intently.

"I already lost my family, then l lost my wife, the only family l have left are both of you, and you both already decide how we will live, what else can l do than fight, l may just get to go to my wife more earlier than l planned, right?" Allen said with the resolve befitting a major general.

"Ahhaha, you coward, you just thinking for a way to skim your duties and go off to meet your wife, what a simp you are!" Daniel laughter echoes within the silence of this western gate.

William eyes also soften when he heard he father's words, his father make be many things he hates but one thing his father was not, is a man that do not love his wife.

Most man with the kind of power and personal strength his father possessed will surround themselves with multiple woman and countless concubine but his father stay true to his mother. Even men who do not have half the strength or power his father possess have more than one wife.

This one of the few things William respect about his father.

"Okay, let get moving, we all have a date with fate and let see what destiny has in store for us all" Daniel grin, as he turn and start walking into the inner city.

"Battle junky, you never change" Allen rolled his eyes at Daniel's attitude. Daniel has always love to fight, he goes around looking for anyone and everyone to fight with, in their military academy days, and then the massacre happened and Daniel seems to cool off and become more calculating.

The lesson dead teaches a person who lose the loved one, especially someone you respect deeply and look up to, their sudden death can either make or break most people and for Daniel, while it may seem to others that he was broken by the death of his adoptive family.

Allen knows that that is very far from the truth.

"Says the simp who goes around fighting every man who stare at my sister for too long" Daniel counter as he continues walking off, Allen and William follows him.

Both men continue their banter and Daniel's men even joined in once in a while. It was quite hard for people who saw them to even think that these set of people who are heading to the royal palace are traitors who are after the king, their saviour's head with the amount of banter and laughter.

William even find himself smiling quite a few time. He truly haven't seen this side of his father or even see his father talking long with any other person other than his own mother.
