Chapter 81 - Savior

"Bartender… I couldn't help but notice that we haven't introduced each other yet..."

The bartender was visibly disgusted by the boy's behavior, but held back as best as he could. Though he was taken aback by Yamato's calm words, which were the only one since the whole room had turned silent.

"Tom… Tom is my name…"

Yamato smiled brightly at that, speaking warmly and full of motivation.

"I see. Nice to meet you, Tom. My name is Yamato. I apologize in advance. I ask of you to trust me, please. I already solved everything."

"…"

He was as confused as the boy, who just ignored them.

"Whatever… But he's right, y'know? You and I haven't been introduced by name yet either, right? What's your name, won't you tell me?"

Yuki did not turn her head to face him. She instead let out a deep sigh and folded her hands together in front of her mouth. Which she actually did to hide her expression, whcih would not match her tone if visible. Instead she sounded almost flirtatious in tone as she spoke.

"…Yuki, and you? Are you perhaps the son of the Baron?"

"Why, yes! So you've heard of me?"

"…"

Yamato stood up from his chair and calmly walked behind the boy, who only turned around half way with his arm still around Yuki's shoulder.

"I wasn't talking to you, get lost."

The two armed guards drew went behind Yamato, though they did not drew their swords yet. Yamato gave Lucy a glance and then looked back at the boy.

"Y'know… If it's one thing I hate it's people touching my stuff."

"Huh? Didn't you hear me? I said get lost."

"Right…"

Yamato grabbed his hair and pulled his head back down against the back of the chair, forcing him to look up at which he let go and immediately hit him in the face three times in less than a second, while grabbing the wrist of the arm around Yuki and twisting it until it broke. The first punch broke his nose already, the other two knocked him unconscious and Yamato heard a teeth fall to the ground, so he lost one of those two. The silence in the room just turned to a silence that was so much louder, as the entire room stared at Yamato. The guards were about to draw their swords but Lucy went behind them and injected them with something through the space in between their chain armor. Both dropped to the ground immediately. The bartender was completely stunned at what his new tenants had just done.

"W-Do you know what you just did, Yamato?!"

"Everyone listen up! I promise you that in the course of this week, the Baron will lose everything he holds dear! The power he holds over this town, his riches, his status, I will strip it all away from him by then. I will help you live a life that will fulfill your every need! All the inequality and suffering you have endured up until now ends with me! I bring your tomorrow!"

"…"

Silence, followed by what must be the cheers of year long oppressed hope, filling the entire tavern and part of the street outside with the sound of around fifty people praising Yamato. Though their optimism was supported by alcohol and the heat of the moment, there was no actual trust in his words yet. However he would soon change that, and they seemed to have had a strong enough effect to make everyone sing and dance again, as if they had not a worry in the word. Lucy was skeptical about his method at first, but seeing the people be moved in such a positive way, she had no choice but to accept his methods as her new norm. Well, not quite. She had a choice, and she chose to accept it, out of her own conviction. Though she was not the type to party, and so she went outside for a bit. Which was where she saw the guards and the boy laying on the ground, with Yamato and Yuki standing next to them.

"What are you two doing out here?"

"Ah, good timing, Lucy. Yuki and I were discussing what to do with them."

"…If I can be blunt, why not just kill them?"

"Oh… Honstly, I didn't expect that to come from you, Lucy."

"I mean, isn't this a revolution you just started in there? What else would you do with him? Take him as prisoner to black mail his father?"

"And I'm the heartless one… I was gonna let him go, actually."

"…I can't see the benefit in that. Besides, weren't you mad because he got so close to Yuki?"

"Of course I was. But I'm not killing him for that. I'm not a monster, y'know?"

"…Now I feel bad for suggesting it. That reminds me… You said earlier that you already solved everything… What did you mean by that?"

"Oh, that… I meant exactly what I said. I already know exactly how to make all of this work, all you have to do is trust my instructions."

"…Vague as always. I'm afraid I still don't understand a single thing."

"That's alright. It's already late, why don't you go upstairs already? You have your own room after all. If you go to Tom, he will hand over your. I already gave him the money."

"And what will you do?"

"Wake up those guys, of course."

"…Alright then, with your permission I will go to bed now…"

"Please do, have a good night. See you tomorrow."

"Good night to you two too."

Once Lucy was back inside, Yuki poked the boy with her foot, moving his blond hair out of his face to have a look at it.

"Wow, Master you really did a number on him… All for me, I love you too~"

"…"

"So… We kill them here or outside of town?"

"Did you listen to what I just said to Lucy at all…?"

"What, you were serious? I thought you just said that to not get into a moral discussion about how killing them would be wrong."

"But she brought it up…"

"Oh, right… That surprised me! Maybe I compared her too much to Arina. I thought fir sure she'd be bothered more by it, this one is still just a child after all."

"Well, either way I meant it. We are letting them go. I see a castle in the back of the city, I'm sure that's where he lives. Let's just dump them in front of the gate and run away."

"Ooh, that feels so illegal~!"

"It… Literally is? Whatever… Let's fly over there. You take one of his guards, I take him and the other guard."

"Ah, you don't want me to carry him because you are jealous~"

"…"

He grabbed the two and flew off. Yuki followed, grabbing the knight by the foot and swinging him around in the air because she was bored. Once they arrived at the wall separating the castle from the rest of town, they flew lower and dropped them all in front of the gate without anyone noticing them since they were so fast and because of how dark it was. Though the bodies were found almost instantly by the guards patrolling, by then Yuki and Yamato were back in the tavern already, where the people began to head back home now.

"Master, it's already late, and since you had a fever, while not as bad anymore, I suggest you rest now."

"Why so formal… But you're right. Hey, Tom, could I get the key to our room?"

Tom, who just cleaned the last desk, went over to the bar counter and grabbed the key from what appeared to be a secret shelf, and threw it over to Yamato.

"I'm sorry for what happened earlier… That guy goes around like he owns the world. But you seemed to have no trouble dealing with him. You shouldn't think of this as taken care of though. Remember what you promised today."

"Don't worry. I'm a man of my word. You will see."

"Haha, well I'm looking forward to it. Good night. Bar opens at 12, so expect guests to come then. Or maybe not, who knows…"

He went through a door behind the counter, which was where his room was apparently. A light shone down from upstairs, which they followed into the second floor, where they found their room. It was of course not as luxurious as their dorms at the school, but they could keep up with Yuki's self made house. Though Yamato better stayed silent about that since she seemed to have been proud about that house.

Yamato was about to sit down on the bed, when he was suddenly thrown over by Yuki jumping on him from behind. Though it was more of a "going limp and throw against him" kind of jump instead instead of her usual "energetic cling onto him" jump.

"What a day, Master… I'm completely listless…"

Though Yamato could imagine more comfortable position than lying face down with her on his back, there were also less comfortable positions, so he chose to accept it momentarily.

"I'm sorry to hear that… I'm sure it took a lot of you to not lash out earlier. I'm proud of you."

"Damn right it did! That disgusting— I don't even wanna give it names! But luckily I had my Master watch over me and protect me of the bad, bad guy, didn't I~?"

"You keep going back to that…"

"Of course! It was a highlight for me~ Admit you were jealous! Admit it, admit it, admit it!"

"Obviously I didn't like the way he was harassing you, no sensible person would."

"That's not everything! I'm sure you hated it! You were repulsed by his very existence, were you not? The very thought of someone having given birth to him made you want to strangle him with your own hands, right? The moment you saw his hand come into contact with my skin, you wanted to cut it off and throw the rest of him into a pit of acid, right? When you heard how he talked to me, lusted over me, you wanted to dislocate his jaw and then—"

Yamato grabbed her wrist and pulled her off his back onto hers beneath him.

"— Alright, yes, I was jealous! I hated it! Is that what you want to hear… If the situation had been different, I would have acted sooner, but I needed to know who we were dealing with and come up with how to deal with it afterwards… But if I hadn't found a way, I would have still acted, because I won't ever let anyone else touch you again."

Though Yuki had teased him just a moment ago, ever since he pulled her off his back her face had gone completely red and she did not manage to let out a single sound. Only incoherent stuttering as she looked up at him, unable to respond. They ended up talking in a different way, in which she responded to him a lot.
