"So do I need to contibute to Vale's rising car crash death statistic or are you gonna stop the cars and surrender like smart, reasonable people?" Yin asked, her thinly veiled threat only emphasized as she pointed the tip of her blade at Baldur's face.
"Fuck you." He cursed before his aura flashed and he raised his hand, ejecting a large amount of energy that shook the truck nearly off the street and actually made Yin fly off the truck.
She quickly landed on the street with a somewhat surprised expression. Yin stood up, her clothing ruffled as she watched the truck try to stop swerving.
"An aura cannon? Well that's new.." Finding herself excited, she once more chased after the truck and looked over to the masked Shia, who had been leaping and wall running between buildings.
Yin whistled out before chasing the truck once more.
"Boss! What are we gonna do with the masked one!? Where do we go? The cops are all over us! And that woman's back up! Holy shit she's coming aga-" "WILL YOU SHUT UP!? I'm not fucking blind! Split up!" Baldur interrupted the Beormir driver's freak out and pulled out his scroll, calling his clansmen in the two trucks in front.
"First two trucks, take a detour through Uptown! Then circle back to the safehouse!" Baldur barked orders through his scroll, seeing the two trucks in the lead take a quick right while his truck and the truck in front continued on.
Before he hung up, he heard a loud 'CRASH' on the other end of the line.
"What happened!? Truck three? Truck three, come in!" Baldur called out, only to hear the panicked yell of the other truck's driver.
"Holy fuck!! Boss! That masked bitch just jumped off a fucking building and smashed truck three! It fucking FLIPPED, boss!!" The driver of truck four panicked.
"Just get out of there! Shit, she's back.." Baldur hung up and grabbed a light machine gun from the truck bed, firing flame dust rounds at Yin to keep her away the best he could.
Baldur grit his teeth, watching as Yin smirked like she wasn't currently being shot at by an Atlas tech machine gun. Her blade moving quickly to bat away the large rounds coming at her. She was even going so far as to avoid hitting any civilians nearby as she closed in.
"Fucking monster.. Bjorn! Hit the fucking pedal. I know this thing can reach two-fifty!" Baldur shouted to the driver as he aimed his palm at the street in front of Yin and shot yet another Aura cannon, blowing up a few cars and part of the street itself. All to buy themselves some time and distance.
"Boss it's gonna be.. messy, if I go that fast on the streets!" Bjorn, the aformentioned driver yelled back.
"Would you rather die!? Get Truck two behind us! They're the ones with rocket launchers!" Baldur yelled back, spotting Yin leaping over the crevace he created in the street and speed up.
Bjorn looked in the rearview mirror and nearly shit bricks seeing Yin coming closer. He wisely chose to pass by truck two, going as fast as he could. Baldur saw his two clansmen hoist up rocket launchers as soon as they passed and started firing them at Yin.
*BOOM!!* *BOOM!!*
Two blasts decimated an evacuated street, making asphalt, mailboxes and streetlights fly from the high-yield explosions. Though all it seemed to do was annoy their target, whose aura shimmered. Baldur, seeing her catch up to the other truck immediately made a call.
*Ring~* *Ring~* *Ri- "Hello, Baldur. Everything's going well I see~" The somewhat seductive tone of Carmilla rung in his ears, further agitating Baldur.
"Well..? Well!? I was on board when you said I could get revenge on that Branwen bitch. But she only showed up after we hit their office! Now some pyscho masked freak AND the Branwen bitch is on our asses. What exactly do I do here? I can't shake- And there goes truck two.." Baldur muttered as he watched Yin catch a rocket and throw it into the front left tire of the second truck.
The truck then flipped in the air, launching the two men with rocket launchers into the street. As if that wasn't enough, she quickly unsheathed her blade and cut through the truck straight down the middle, leaving it in two pieces where two shellshocked Beormir members were still sitting in their respective seats. In less than five seconds, she had pulled that off and was closing in on Baldur's truck once more.
"That's enough to make a lady wet.." Carmilla snickered on the other side. Much to Baldur's irritation.
"And yeah, I've been keeping up with everything. I've been watching the news being streamed via a Bullhead that's been following you. You should see the comments-" *Click~*
Baldur hung up before she could further infuriate him. It was very clear she didn't give a damn about their lives. If he wanted to come out of this alive and free? He needed to do something drastic.
-Carmilla, Royal Valean Hotel-
Meanwhile, Carmilla was seated in her hotel, watching the stream in a red silk robe. The comments that popped in made for some incredible entertainment.
[Pathro: Smash. Holy hell I need a woman who can kick my ass bro. Vale's POPPING tf off lately huh? Smh, I live in Atlas. All we got are trash ahh celebrities with fake tits and plastic surgeries 😭]
[Stinkyfard: I live nearby the place that those rocket mfs shot at. You think I can risk it all, chat? 😩]
[Chimera_Owl: I'm more interested in WHAT THE HELL THAT BLADE IS! Bisecting Armored trucks like butter is crazy..]
[P_J_Sch: Regular metal don't do that. He's right^ That's gotta be a semblance or really advanced tech. Super cool though]
[Camo: Mommy YEAH!! You guys are crazy down in Vale!]
[KitsuneFae: Those thigh highs are doing things to me..]
[Stinkyfard: Nah, I'd goon. 🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥]
[Von_Krieg: Ya'll mfs be down bad fr fr]
[Makotobut_Diff: NAH lemme be reborn as her fishnet stockings. That's all I want 🙏😩]
"Well I can't exactly blame them. I just wish the camera could zoom in more when her skirt moves..." Carmilla sighed.
Though she had set this all up to get a good estimate of Yin's capabilities, she felt something was off. Was she capable? Definitely. But she could do the same thing in Yin's situation. What intrigued her the most was the sheer speed Yin was clocking in. That, and the fact that it didn't even seem to tire her yet. There was one conclusion Carmilla could make.
"She's nowhere near her limit. Interesting.. What must I do to see how far you can go? More Atlas tech? Cyborgs? A Mythic Grimm? I need to know. You're just too interesting to ignore. Even without my orders.." Carmilla muttered, trailing her hand down her face as she watched Yin.
-Baldur, Valean Highway-
"Son of a bitch..!!" Baldur cursed as the truck spun from the strength of one of Yin's kicks.
*SCREEEEETCH!!*
"Boss! The truck is-" "I fucking know! Don't stop! As long as we get away we can recover our-"
*THUD!*
Baldur stopped talking, given Yin had once again boarded the truck. He quickly threw his palms up but she had already closed the distance and drove her knee into his gut and smashed his head into the roof of the truck.
Yes, not 'against' but straight through the metal alloy of the truck roof. Baldur felt the world spin and his aura light up from the heavy impact to his head before he was yanked back onto the truck bed. Looking up, he saw Yin's boot pressing into his chest and her blade aimed at his neck.
"You wanna comply now? Or do I need to get rough?" Yin asked with an oddly refreshed smile.
'Rough..? Bitch you just gave me a concussion!' Baldur thought as he slowly brought his hands up in surrender.
*BOOOOOM!*
Only to release the remaining aura reserves he had left in a blast as soon as he put his hands up. Though, due to the impact of the blast, Baldur was sent flying off the truck and flew off the highway. His battered body hit multiple rocks and asphalt, making him lose consciousness for a while.
When he awoke, he heard sirens in the distance and felt cool water submerging half of his legs.
"Ugh... fuck..... at least I killed the bitch.." Baldur groaned as he tried to pick himself up.
But the pain from his ribs, legs and back told him that wasn't going to happen. He was damn sure his ribs were broken. His leg wasn't looking too good either and his back was likely bruised and shredded. He rested his head on the hard cement ground of the Vale canal and raised his arm up.
"This is for you, Magni, Modi..." Baldur muttered, feeling his eyelids get heavy when he heard footsteps approach him.
Looking up, he felt like crying. Yin was walking over, dragging his driver behind her by the shirt. Worst yet, she barely looked disturbed. Her hair was out of place and her kimono was ruffled, that was it. Baldur started to chuckle.
"Heh...hehehe.... of course you're still fuckin' alive... of course.. It'll take someone like my Father or Brother to take you on. Our very own.. Níðhöggr." Baldur snorted at the end, laughing to himself over an inside family joke.
"The Dragon who devours the roots of Yggdrasil? Well, I must say.. it's oddly fitting." Yin smirked, being compared to a legendary Dragon was odd. A sense of pride and arrogance filled her before she crushed it down and looked at a stunned Baldur.
"How do YOU know of that..? Of us? You..-You're...-" His eyes widened as a realization dawned on him.
Yin though? Simply smacked him over the head with her sheathe and grabbed him by the head before trekking back up to the cordoned off highway, where several squad cars were stopping. One particularly young, jumpy officer pointed his gun at Yin as she walked onto the highway.
"Hey, easy kid. She's a Huntress. Half of Vale saw that car chase.." One of the older officers lowered the rookie's gun and adjusted his hat.
"But we will need to see a licence. You understand, it's just policy." The older officer cleared his throat and stated.
Yin put Baldur and Bjorn on the ground and hummed.
"Well, you see. I don't have one? They bombed my office. Branwen PMC. So.. I gave chase. Didn't kill any of them, I think?"
The older and the rookie officers shared a look. On Yin's side? That was true. The men in the truck she bisected were alive. Traumatized? Definitely. But alive nonetheless. It was the other group that didn't quite make it. Though they only recovered two mangled bodies. The other two in the trucks were unaccounted for.
"Well.. you wouldn't happen to know that masked person, would you? The one that wielded a hammer? Wore a plain white mask and a hoodie?" The older officer asked casually, hiding the trepidation he felt toward the unknown figure.
Yin shook her head and gave him an innocent look.
"No? I never saw anyone like that. These Beormir are bandits though. So they have a pretty big list of enemies, I imagine." Yin replied with a halfhearted shrug.
The rookie squinted at her and was about to question her more when the older officer pat him on the shoulder and shook his head. He was well aware of the potential for this to go really bad. Hidden politics come up all the time and the older officer knew better than to prematurely act. He'd leave that mess to his chief.
"Welp.. given you have no licence, I'm afraid we'll have to take you in. Do you have anyone you could call?" The older officer asked, not even bothering to put handcuffs on Yin.
"Well...-"
-Qrow, Beacon Headmaster's office-
"And that's your report?" Ozpin, in his chair asked tiredly.
"Yeeeup.." Qrow replied before taking a swig out of his flask.
"You're saying the Atlesian mob has ties to Salem.."
"Sure does."
"And that they're getting supplied by her agent in Atlas.. Who you tracked down, getting the name 'Bishop'"
"Yup again. Jeez, it's like I didn't just finish explaining this to you. Definitely fits the whole 'secret chess war' schtick you guys are busting a nut over.." Qrow sighed as he put away his now empty flask.
"Ah sorry.. I've barely been getting sleep with this whole gang war beginning... I need you on this. As soon as you're able to, of course. I'm even thinking of using the Arc family to crack down on the criminals. The stakes are too high this time, as my informant likes to emphasize.." Ozpin stated before taking a sip of coffee.
Qrow rubbed the back of his head and shrugged. Taking down criminals was way less dangerous than going toe to toe with Salem's merry band of assholes.
"Alright fine. But gimme two days. I'd rather not deal with the crazy Arc women. I get to pick who participates-" *Ring~*
"Well that's unusual.." Qrow muttered, picking up his scroll and answering as Ozpin gave him a raised brow.
"Hey Mini-Rae. What's up? Uh-huh... oh? You don't say? Hah! I gotta see that.. Yeah, I'll pick you up. Nah, trust me, it'll be funny.." Qrow finished the conversation in a minute before hanging up with a strangely proud grin.
"So.. are you going to tell me or wait until I ask?"
"Hehe.. Yeah, since you whined so politely. Seems Yin got in trouble. She's currently in VPD custody and is likely scaring the hell out of the officers there. Wanna come get my rebellious niece with me? It'll be even more fun if a councilor and Headmaster of Beacon comes."
Ozpin set down his mug and looked at the large stack of paperwork he had to do. The choice was obvious.
"Ah well, why not?"
[AN: Damn. Ya'll seem to enjoy the Jane Doe ZZZ/RWBY fic premise. Thank you to all who gave me 5 bucks. It certainly helps]
