"How's it going?" the agent asked Natasha at the door, "Still not saying anything?"
Natasha sighed helplessly, "She's professionally trained, of course she won't talk. All we can do now is wait it out."
"The Assassin's Union is quite strange too. Their leader was captured, yet there's no movement at all. They wouldn't just give up on Talya, right?"
"Previously, I would have been certain, but now I'm not so sure." Natasha leaned against the wall with her arms crossed, "After the fusion, there are more opportunities, but also more crises. Whether Ra's al Ghul is still willing to invest so much in this daughter of his is uncertain."
"I find it impossible for Talya to be abandoned. The Assassin's Union must have other tricks up their sleeve." The agent glanced inside, then said, "I'll go take a look."
Natasha stepped aside to make way for him, and the agent walked in. Talya was sitting in a chair, head bowed, but didn't look particularly haggard, just lifeless.
The agent had seen too many people like this and didn't plan to interrogate. He just looked briefly and then told the person beside him, "Our kind of organization, we can't mistreat prisoners, and besides, she still has value. Don't overdo it."
"Don't worry, we know our limits," said the female officer in charge of the interrogation, "Although she might not seem like an ordinary person, probably having taken some kind of enhancement drug, but we'll let her rest tonight."
The agent nodded and went out. Natasha waited by the door and walked alongside him, "What plan are you up to this time? Normally, you're never this enthusiastic about work, preferring to hang around the break room all day."
The agent raised an eyebrow at her, "I thought that this stalemate isn't a solution. Might as well create an opportunity for her and see what they're really up to."
Natasha squinted her eyes. She didn't think the agent would conspire with the Assassin's Union. Besides, entrapment is so common within the Special Agent Organization that many jailbreak opportunities are intentionally created by the agency just to see what you'll do next.
"I'm afraid the fish won't take the bait, and we'll lose the lure too."
"It'll be useless even if we don't throw it in," the agent said, "If they've decided not to rescue her, we'll still have to keep her. Better to toss it in and see."
Natasha nodded, indicating her approval of the agent's plan.
That night, Talya, who had been lying silently on the bed, suddenly sat up. She looked around, effortlessly pried open her handcuffs and shackles, opened the cell door, looked around, and then walked in a certain direction.
She moved through the dark corridor, like a shadowy phantom. Yet she was unaware that another figure had flown in through the window from behind, seeing her entering the corridor, clearly pausing in surprise, then followed her, even more ghost-like than she was.
Talya's goal wasn't to escape. Since her capture, she had been waiting for an opportunity. What the Assassin's Union needed most now wasn't money or manpower, but a decisive force.
They needed to know where the Mother Model Factory, capable of creating super weapons, was located.
Easily entering the archive room, Talya began searching for all materials related to the Court of Owls. While she was cautious, she indeed didn't notice the figure flying above the ceiling.
After searching for a long time, Talya seemed to have finally found what she wanted. Just as she was about to climb out the window with the document, a black shadow flashed instantly behind her, chopping her unconscious.
Superman picked up Talya with one hand and the documents with the other, flying directly out of the window. He hadn't been gone long when Natasha appeared on the rooftop.
"Is this the fish you wanted to catch?" Natasha said irritably to the agent beside her, "Are you asking me to fight Superman?"
"How was I supposed to know it would be Superman?" the agent said cautiously, "Don't worry, Talya has a tracking device on her. She won't get away. As for Superman, I suggest you pretend you didn't see anything. No Superman would come to rescue Talya without being instigated."
"So the question is, who instigated it?"
"That's not for you to worry about." The agent turned to walk back, "The outcome will definitely be good, trust me."
Although Natasha was a bit dissatisfied, she still remembered the previous advice: let Shiller do what he wants, it's ineffective to stop him anyway.
"Talya escaped?" Nick said, somewhat surprised.
"We're fishing," Natasha said, "Her coordinates are basically fixed."
"That may not necessarily be the headquarters," Nick said, "She's not that stupid and surely realized you put a tracker on her. This is probably just a blind eye technique, it's a safe house."
Natasha said, "She's not that stupid, but the one who saved her might not be the same. If I'm not mistaken, he's heading straight for the Assassin's Union's lair."
"Who saved her?" Nick was a bit confused, he couldn't think of anyone who would rescue Talya, not even Talya's biological father.
"Superman," Natasha said with a laugh.
The smile won't fade; it will only transfer. Natasha laughed, but someone couldn't muster a smile. For example, Ra's al Ghul, sitting upright, when he saw that figure flying in mid-air, he thought he hadn't woken up. Upon seeing Talya being thrown to the ground, he was utterly shocked awake.
"I saved your daughter," Superman said bluntly, "What kind of rank do you plan to confer upon me?"
Ra's al Ghul's face was grim. He walked to Talya's side, his gaze at this daughter held no warmth, then looked up at Superman, "Where did you come from?"
"From the Rebirth Alliance. Didn't you know who captured your daughter?"
"How do you know she's my daughter?"
Superman was taken aback, then covered his mouth; he accidentally let slip some information. But considering the other party wasn't Batman, he said, "I'm not the Superman of this universe. I've dealt with you guys from other universes, so of course I know."
"So why would a Superman from another world want to save her?"
"Didn't I say? Give me a position or something." Superman crossed his arms and said, "I think your Assassin's Union is pretty good, how about letting me join?"
Ra's al Ghul didn't say anything; he just turned around, went back to his seat, poured himself a cup of tea, and said while drinking, "She has a tracker on her, the Rebirth Alliance should be coming to encircle us soon."
"Then now I should be threatening you guys. If you don't give me some benefits, I won't help you in the fight. But I'm too lazy to negotiate, so let's do it another way." Superman wasn't polite, directly sat opposite him, poured himself a cup of tea, and said, "I have information you guys want, about that factory of the Owls."
Ra's al Ghul paused his hand, "Where did you get it?"
"Don't worry about that." Superman replied, "If you think it's worthwhile, let me join. When the Rebirth Alliance comes, I can help block them."
After speaking, Superman handed the information directly over to Ra's al Ghul as if he had no ulterior motives. Ra's al Ghul glanced at it and then asked, "How can I be sure it's real?"
"Once you see that location, you'll know it's real, right? The Mother Module is in Jotunheim; can the Rebirth Alliance conspire with Reed Richards or the Mutants?"
Superman was relaying what he saw on the document. Ra's al Ghul naturally also saw it and pondered for a moment before asking, "Why do you want to join?"
"Don't worry about that." Superman was too lazy to explain, "I'm not even asking for a salary, just to have my name on the list."
"How do you want your name to be listed?"
"Just say I'm one of yours. Of course, it's best not to tell outsiders, just internal knowledge is fine."
"Do you want people to think you're a bad guy?" Ra's al Ghul immediately grasped the key point.
"I said it's none of your business." Superman snatched back the document and said, "Do you agree or not? If you don't agree, I'll tell others..."
"Deal." Ra's al Ghul said. Although he had already read the information and knew the location, as Superman mentioned, he could give this information to others. In the Fusion Universe, there are so many criminal organizations; if the intelligence leaks, it'll be troublesome too.
As for why the Rebirth Alliance knows the location but doesn't go themselves, it's obvious they regard Jotunheim as their territory. It actually is, under Thor's rule, and moving the Mother Module back to Earth might not be safer there.
But for the Assassin's Union, it's an opportunity because the security there is likely not as strong, and Thor might not be in the Nine Major Kingdoms. If they can find a way to enter the Mask Zone, avoiding Reed Richards is easier.
"You don't need to stay to guard against the Rebirth Alliance." Ra's al Ghul said, "If you really want to do something, then go to Jotunheim together."
Superman didn't mind, nodding slightly.
At the experimental base in Jotunheim, Wanda was making tea, mumbling as she did, "In this weather, drinking cold water won't do, got to have a piping hot milk tea."
Reed was taking notes on the side, neither interfering with the other. However, once Wanda finished making the milk tea, she handed a cup to Reed and then raised her cup to the camera: "Sorry, darling, you can't drink this now. I'll make it for you and the kids when I get back."
The camera blinked in response, but then, the projector suddenly turned on, and a scene appeared on the wall—a myriad of shadows suddenly flashing from amidst the wind and snow. A question mark slowly appeared above Wanda's head.
"Who are they?" Wanda couldn't help but ask, "Could it be the Dark Elfs?"
Reed didn't even look up. Wanda put down her cup and said, "You stay here, I'll go check it out."
When the Scarlet Witch flew out, she saw a dense crowd of ninjas in the snow and was stunned. She hadn't seen many ninjas before, so she didn't recognize them at first.
The ninjas saw her and were also startled. The Scarlet Witch of the Fusion Universe hadn't shown her face since the fusion, and they didn't recognize her either.
But among these ninjas, there was one particular figure that stood out. Wanda recognized him immediately and shouted, "Superman! What are you all doing here?!"
Supreme Little Superman also didn't recognize the Scarlet Witch; he thought she was a guardian of the Mother Module and responded loudly, "What else?! Of course, we're here to rob!"
Wanda was shocked and incredulously confirmed, "What?!"
"I said we're here to rob! Assassin's Union! Here to rob that Mother Module!" Superman shouted again, secretly cursing this woman for being hard of hearing.
"Ma'am, whoever you are, you'd better not stand in our way." Ra's al Ghul, in a black cloak, holding a long wand, with a voice long and deep, resembled an ancient figure stepping through the snow.
So much so that when he was lifted by the power of Scarlet, Superman didn't even have time to save him.
Wanda directly grabbed him with the power of Scarlet, brought him to her face, inspected him from top to bottom, and couldn't help but think: Fate, oh fate, can't you make it less forced? Just for conflict, are they sending people to rob the Scarlet Witch?
