It was finally time to begin fully training on my Geokinesis. I had only done very basic things and the biggest issue is the damage that this power causes to the surroundings there are very few abilities that don't destroy the surroundings.
The earthslide ability I normally use is limited as it mostly uses very small parts of the ground so it doesn't cause much destruction, but if I wanted a faster, more powerful traversal, I could use the same ability but draw more earth from the ground. But, that would leave more damage to the surroundings.
Traversal was always more difficult when the ability isn't environmentally friendly in the sense that it damages things around it while being used.
Cisco and I thought of a couple of ideas for Traversal.
For quick jumps, I already have an earth launch that I can use. For land traversal, I have my earthslide.
The problem came with air traversal. Cisco remembered how I could control rocks and stone and when I used them they were covered in an aura so he suggested that I just use I giant rock to fly around, it was good in theory and I might use it in emergencies, but I thought of something that might work better.
If I could train my Geokinesis enough to where I could form a rock armor around myself, I could use it to fly similar to just a giant Boulder, the problem is that it would need a lot more earth to make the armor.
These were things I'd work on. Right now, I gotta get better at smoke so I can use my electric powers again.
I did an earth launch by causing a pillar of earth to shoot out of the ground and then I went flying onto the nearby building as I had been training in an abandoned warehouse.
After I got there I saw a smoking chimney and I absorbed the smoke from it, my arms were radiating whisps of black smoke.
'I still can't believe this is real, I have Delsin's power to absorb powers from other conduits, but the downside is that it has confirmed that Conduits are a part of this universe so that creates a litany of other future problems.
*screams*
*crash*
'Speak of the devil' I thought to myself as I rushed toward the commotion.
What I saw when I got there made me freeze in shock.
I saw a bunch of 'creatures' was the best way to describe them. Not only were they at a minimum 8 feet tall, they were humanoid but had a pale sickly appearance. From the waist up was covered in protruding veins and on their face they had four mandibles on the mouth, scythes for arms and clawed feet. They also appear to have a black spinal cord, visible on their body.
Their arms were razor-sharp crab-like blades in place of the normal human limbs.
The reason I froze was that I recognized these monsters. They were The Corrupted or swamp monsters as some called them. Unfortunate humans who were mutated into these things by Bertrand.
The implication is that if these things exist then either someone like him or Bertrand himself exists in this universe and he is trying to create an army like he did in the game.
Decided to deal with that later, I immediately smoke-dashed towards the monster and sent a fully powered cinder blast as I already knew they were too powerful for a normal one.
The blast did exactly what I'd hoped, it not only sent it flying, but even burned off parts of its chest and blade-like arms.
*woosh*
"Hey, what the hell are these things?" Barry asked as he just stopped next to me.
"I don't know some kind of swamp monsters." I said gesturing to the groups of monsters that were chasing after civilians.
"Swamp?" Barry asked.
"Well they certainly smell like one and they are monsters." I said as I gave Barry a look as if saying fight now, talk later.
Barry nodded, "I'll get the civilians, you get the swamp monster's attention." Barry said before he ran off.
I immediately began to shoot smoke shots at the group and each one began to chase after me
They were a lot faster than they looked and as I was doing a mix of running and smoke dashing I looked behind me and saw the group of 7 running after me, it was horror movie worthy.
One of the monsters did a quick lunge and hit me. The force of the blow sent me flying about 20 feet to one of the buildings that were on either side of the city street.
'Damn, I forgot they could do that.' I thought to myself while rubbing my side where I was attacked, my fast healing kicked in and the pain faded.
I then saw that we were plenty far away from the busy city center and I knew this was the best time to make a stand.
I needed more firepower and knew exactly what to do. I channeled my smoke into my palm similar to when I would create a cinder blast, but I condensed the smoke and added heat.
The smoke started to glow orange and I knew it had worked, I had successfully created my cinder missile.
Not able to fully appreciate my accomplishment, I threw the missile at the feet of the group which caused a huge explosion and the group was sent flying away, the 3 closest to the blast were even knocked out.
The other four recovered and they surrounded me. With a mix of cinder blasts and smoke shots, I fought them back and after about a minute or two they were all knocked out.
*woosh*
"I evacuated everyone."
Just then Barry came back and told me he got the civilians to safety.
"Took you long enough, I already took care of these guys." I said gesturing to the group of seven monsters spread throughout the area.
"Sorry, there were more monsters, I didn't expect that. I had to hit them hundreds of times each before they were knocked out." Barry explained.
"It's fine, it wasn't too hard to take care of them I'm just new to these powers so I had to improvise. The good news is that I came up with a new way to use my powers." I explained.
Barry nodded then looked around at the unconscious monsters.
"What should we do with these things?" Barry asked.
"Well you should take at least one to S.T.A.R. Labs, Caitlin can analyze it, you will probably have your own tests to do on them as your day job will most likely involve these things as well." I said.
Barry agreed and quickly grabbed one of the unconscious monsters and ran it to the Pipeline.
After Barry left I dashed towards a building and then used a vent to get to the room and made my way back to S.T.A.R. Labs using the rooftops.
'I can't believe these things are here. If they are here, what other things from the world of Infamous could be here?' I questioned internally thinking about all the different types of enemies you had to fight throughout all the different games
'Urgh. Things are going to get really complicated really fast'
