Chapter 105 - Chapter 105: Chaos in Dreams

| Nightmare Worldwide - Chaos J Faust Theme?

--

"Getting bored of that gimmick already so probs gonna drop it, exclamation mark!"

A figure sat in a constantly changing realm, sat atop what could only be called a magic staff, with a crystal ball hovering in front of them. Their hands wrapped around the handle of the staff to seemingly help keep them balanced while hovering over a constantly shifting aurora of thought. Located in the center of the hook of the wooden stave was a constantly changing 5th dimensional shape that made one's head hurt just by looking at it.

Of course even an item like that seemed far less impressive when surrounded by an ever changing world of dreams and memories. One moment it could make one feel claustrophobic as space itself shrunk under the weight of the realm that sage had found themselves in. Then the next agoraphobia could take hold.

Nothing was stagnant down there as stagnation was an impossibility in a place like this; the highest levels of the dreamscape also known as the 8th dream.

The dreamscape - split into 8 layers - could essentially be considered akin to how humans did geography.

While the first level may be a town the next one up could represent a province then a kingdom. But instead of just being a landmass, the different layers of the dreamscape were far more dangerous, the higher one went the more minds had influence. As such not even the scant few denizens able to live in the dreamscape dared go down to the 8th dream that encompassed the mental sea of all existence.

Few creatures even dipped to the third dream which encompassed the thoughts of mere kingdoms let alone the fourth or fifth which were continents then planets. Afterall it was a dangerous slope that encompassed more thoughts at an exponential rate. Not even some of the strongest mind-based gods dared to touch upon the sixth as who would dare think they could understand the thoughts of a universe?

Then there was the seventh that only has been touched by a handful of people, no, monsters… At least only a handful of entities were able to return to tell the tale.

Afterall the 7th contained entire pockets of existence - multiple universes - which meant the dangers it possessed were generated from multiple universes worth of mental power. Such a place was enough to make even the highest class gods into chaff simply waiting to be cut. In the dreamscape getting lost was an inevitability and losing oneself was an eventuality, after all.

Finally the 8th dream that held the collective consciousness of everything that has ever been stood as a place that only two entities in existence can safely traverse. Not even a single Mother (whether the Mother of Life, Infinite Mother or Golden Mother) could do it. Only the Divine Demon and the Primordial of Dreams herself were able to not only survive but thrive in the truly chaotic dreamscape.

Yet where there was chaos… Another entity was able to sustain itself.

"Freedom sure would be great right about now but no. You teach a little dragon's lover all about magic and then that dragon becomes the god of liberation, then you get trapped, only for that dragon to forget all about you due to a small little misunderstanding!" The being clicked their tongue in mock insult.

Someone may have thought them serious if not for the subsequent cackle they released as they threw their body backwards. As a result they "fell" backwards on the staff only to swing around it. Barely able to avoid taking the crystal ball to the back of the head.

When they finally stopped swinging they "underneath" with their back to the crystal as they hummed in thought while continuing their complaint. "I wonder if I can lodge a complaint?"

Tilting their head as their long unruly black hair truly appeared like a mane.

Once it had been straight as well as not going past their chin… Yet the sage had been trapped in the 8th realm for so long that they had kind of lost track of time. Not exactly the first time in their life that they had lost track of such things; sometimes quite literally losing track of it considering they had the tribulation of time robbed from under their cute little button nose.

"Guess there was only really one dragoness in my heart despite my best efforts - how I wish I could make lovey dovey to my kind sociopathic nami!" Kicking their legs about aggressively. That momentum causing them to swing around the staff some more in an impossible show of athleticism.

Of course it was only truly possible due to the unusual rules (or rather the lack of concrete ones) that existed within the 8th realm.

Eventually the entity got sick of throwing a tantrum.

"Ah~ if only that dumb little sister of mine would hurry and open my little gift boxes; who doesn't like opening loot boxes!" Though clearly they weren't above complaining some more. "Those monster fuckers are already a lost cause so I just hope they push her enough to get her to play a bit risky~."

Tongue peeking out from their plump lips to lick in order to moisten them as the thoughts of the brewing chaos was almost orgasmic to the being.

In a non sexual thing.

Only one thing got them feeling sexual and unfortunately they were unable to actually spy on that particular figure even if they had a good idea of where they were.

"Order loving fools are probably regretting qu~ite a lot right about now - thinking about all the wishes I will be granting soon is certainly worth the vacation. Shouldn't be too much longer till I can once again seep into the real world che~muhuhu~~hahaha~!" A macabre cheshire stretched out across their cute faces.

Jumping "up" to have the soles of their simplistic boots to land atop the staff in place of their rotund rear that was second only to the absolute territory between their thigh high & crimson tunic. Thigh high singular due to only wearing one. The other sock is not even going up to their knee.

An unusual choice that only invited more looks towards their lower body.

That being adjusted the single fingerless glove on their hand only to do the same for the gloveless fingers that they had. At least until they used that hand to pull a can of metal polish out of the energy. Proceeding to spray it upon their metal encased nails only to then take a bite of the can.

Not caring that the pressurised can exploded in their face as they continued to chew while pulling cloth out from under their tunic. Using it to help care for their nails, along with some tactical exhales that sent out some more polish, till that black metal truly shined. Appearing quite pleased as they blew onto the cloth.

Said cloth abruptly transformed into a swarm of polygons as if a video game asset that had just lost any form of support from the GPU.

Those polygons "despawned" soon after they formed.

"Few people appreciate the smaller things in life but I-" Mumbling to themselves as they reached up to their head, hand brushing past their hair, only to stop once it was just above their scalp. Almost as if they were expecting something to be there that wasn't.

Mostly because they expected something to be there that wasn't.

The smile on their face fading into a pout as they kicked the "ground" in disappointment; of course that ground happened to be the staff they stood upon. Said kick caused the balance of the "flying object" to vanish as it bobbed about. Leaving them struggling for balance for a few minutes.

When it finally calmed down they let out a long sign as their three differently coloured eyes turned back to what was immediately in front of them. That crystal ball immediately flew in front of them like an obedient puppy as they mumbled. "I really need to get my hat back soon… It was a gift from Nami."

They may have changed it "abit" but they could never abandon the first ever gift provided generously by their soulmate… Also the first ever gift in general!

"As long as you don't count the gift of hullabaloo che~muhuhuu~hahaha~!" Their joyous multi-staged laughter rang throughout the never silent yet always empty realm. Their gaze once again fell upon the vision shown to them by the magical relic they formed; a chaos relic that was considered one of the most dangerous forms of relic.

Their quality was guaranteed to fulfil their word to the letter yet it was pretty much never according to the actual will of the one who asked for the relic. Not unless you were a master of chaos itself. Of course none understood chaos better than the entity currently using the relic.

On it they watched as a certain meeting between a knightess and guild master ended with a strong handshake with a flicker of amusement in their three eyes. "I didn't even deserve much to be sealed here so you'll understand, right? Afterall I only want to see you get stronger… Dear lil' sister. "

For a moment their gaze settled on the eyepatch of the dark skinned knightess; the opposite colour of his own fair skinned appearance. "My boss seems to have punched the lights out… I wonder if I can contact her while here? No way to enter the demon realm due to the seals but I'm not a sage for nothing."

Snickering for a moment only to stop.

"Why didn't I just ask my fellow archdemons to break me out; the big divine demon boss lady even has the power to destroy all magical phenomena with her fists…" A frown on their face.

At least until they giggled with an open palmed shrug. "Not nearly enough pandemonium in that!"

Also it wasn't as if they were particularly hard being stuck in the dreamscape for a few hundred years; if anything it finally gave them time to get around to some interesting spells. Plus it was not as if logic was ever a thing that dictated their actions. "The world needs chaos more than ever, sister."

With that they reached into their tunic from their neck - pulling out a rugged brown cape that they quickly draped around their shoulders. "So it is time Chaos J Faust returns to the realms of the living~!"
