The moment the words come out of his mouth it was like time stops in the whole room. The king perks up shocked and surprising gasps and murmurs could be heard round the room
"That is clearly impossible, there has being no other one since the first and that was ages ago" the king says confused at the development. Welcome to my world
"That was what I thought also at first your highness" he says and an old man from the table bangs the table getting up to speak
"and how do you know he is one" he asks screaming and I face him. He was old with grey hair and had a bracelet too. His bracelet had green crystals on them.
"Well I can proudly say I have seen his power with my own eyes and they are marvelous. That is enough confirmation for me." Nic says with a glint of admiration in his eyes
"Can he show us these powers you claim to have seen?" one of the women on the council asks and the others nod and murmur in agreement, she had brown hair and dark blue eyes and was in a very expensive and bulky gown. She was also on a necklace with blue crystals.
"I'm afraid I don't believe so my lady, he lacks training and can only use it under high emotional duress. As you know he is not of our planet so this is all new to him" he replies with both respect and sass the same time which amazed me truly. I chuckle and everyone's attention is turned to me. I guess a pin falling can really be heard here.
"Do you have anything to say to everyone lad" the king asks and I shake my head at first but when they all start looking at with disgust and hearing the king call me lad infuriates me so as the king was about to speak I cut him off
"Come to think of it I have something to say" I say and they face me again surprised I cut the king off "can you guys just do your shit and let me be on my way. I have got more important things to do with my time than stay here and watch old assholes debate what the fuck they plan to do with me" I say and everyone was dumbfounded, once I see they aren't speaking I continue "now if you are done drooling I'll be on my way" I say and turn and start heading towards the door when the king gets himself
"seize him guards" he commands in anger and all the guards hold me down and drag me to the king's front. I fight but I wasn't strong enough to fight them all and that was more infuriating than being trapped. The feeling of being powerless made me mad and I start to feel the tingling feeling of the energy within me. I let it build up well before speaking gently
"leave me alone" I say in a stern voice but they buckle my legs and send me to my knees
"shut up kid" one of them says and that was enough to flip the switch
"leave me the fuck alone" I scream and this time I release the energy that was building up within me. All the crystals in the room begins to shine brightly and all the guards holding me were sent many feet away from.
The sheer force of the power release alone sent most of the council members off their chairs and into the table and it sent the king off balance. I get up and dust myself before sending a huge smirk the king's way
"now do you believe them or do you need a bigger demonstration" I ask and he nods.
The whole room goes silent with everyone watching me with mixed emotions but the one i could read were Nic which was worry and Isaac's was clearly pride. The king had a look of both disdain and surprise. The silence is broken by the king who clears his throat to gain the attention of everyone which was on me before he speaks
"You are right about the lad, now you may take your leave and give the council time to debate and decide what the next step to take is" he says referring to me and pauses before he continues
"General please update the kid on everything he needs to know about us and our ways. We will decide and get back to you." The king says and they both bow while I nod as we take our leave.
Once we are out the door we walk in silent hastily till we reach our floor and they both stop at my door. I look at them for a while but when they didn't move an inch I open the door and we all file in. The moment we enter the room the silence is broken by Nic
"what the hell do you think you are doing, first you make an enemy of the princess" he says and a look of confusion crosses Isaac's face so I give him the 'I'll explain everything later look' which he understands immediately "and now you publicly disrespect the king, do you have a death wish or something?" he says and I shrug
"maybe" I say and he frowns earning a chuckle from me
"this isn't funny at all kid" he warns in a stern "now you just got yourself on death roll" he says falling on the couch in frustration
"No I didn't" I say and he faces me from the couch where he is seated. He was clearly shocked by my confidence
"and how can you be so sure of that?" he asks confused and I smirk
"because this whole shit is a power tussle" I reply and they both look at completely lost
"what does that mean?" Isaac asks
"well the moment you made it known that I was a manipulator I saw how important it was to him and this made me confident. The reason I didn't bow to the king was to see how lenient he was and his behaviour proves to me he thinks well before making any decision. This whole thing was just to stake my place at the top of the power chain" I say and Nic scoffs
"how does that protect you from being killed soon?" he asks and I smile
"I thought you'd never ask. It doesn't sure but being a manipulator does" I reply and Isaac hisses
"how" he asks and I walk up to the bed to take a seat before speaking
"well you told me manipulators are a myth because there has only been one so far and it was millennias ago meaning they have no fact on the powers and limits of one. They can only speculate meaning they won't be able to kill me because if it doesn't work and I survive I become a foe. They would love to have me as a friend so the smartest course of action for them to take is to train me and gain my support and trust. Seeing what I can do just proved that I'm a formidable entity." I say and they were both shocked after my little explanation.
"If you have it all figured out then why disrespect the king" Nic asks and I smirk at him
"that was just to prove I wasn't a pushover who can be commanded to do stuffs and to get the guards to push me to the brink so I could use my power there." I reply and he chuckles
"no one would know you have such a strategic mind in that stupid nonchalant brain of yours" Isaac says and I laugh
"I can be smart when the need arises" I reply playfully and we all laugh. Nic looks at his wristwatch and gets up hastily
"I'm sorry but have somewhere I have to be right now. Will you please try to catch him up as much as you can?" Nic says referring to Isaac and he nods
"and you stay out of trouble" he says to me
"You know I'm trouble, that will be a little difficult" I say smirking and he shakes his head smiling as he walks out the door.
"You were dope though, in the throne room. You gained my utmost respect" Isaac says as soon as Nic was out of earshot and I smile and move quickly to seat beside him on the couch
"I am honored my lord" I say jokingly and fake a courtesy and we burst into laughter as I seat
"now to catch you up on all things Channelers and Taslania" Isaac says and I get ready for the lecture.

IN THE THRONE ROOM KING
ELIAS DURLA'S POV
The kid left the room confident and I couldn't help staring at him as he leaves. He gained my respect the moment he walked into the room, he exerted a confidence no one else in the whole Taslania has. He was powerful and he knew it. The moment he walked in I could feel the powerful aura that surrounded him. It was suffocating and too much for anyone to be around. I look to my right and saw Joseph felt it too. I was brought out of my thoughts by Cana's voice
"your highness I suggest we kill the kid now that he is not able to use his power before he becomes a menace we have to live with" he says and I snap my head in his direction.
"Didn't you hear what he is, the first manipulator since ages and you want us to kill him" I ask and Jada replies me
"yes your highness to show that no one disrespects the king, what if he decides to take your throne in the nearest future" she says and I couldn't brush off the possibility of that happening.
"My lord I advice we think deeply before deciding, this is the first manipulator ever and we know nothing about his kinds like how they can be killed for example" Joseph says and I nod in agreement.
"We can burn him at the stake" Jeremy says and Joseph replies
"we have heard instances of people turning fire into pure energy and absorbing it, what happens if he can do it." he replies and murmurs fill the room
"drowning" Jeremy says and Kael replies
"what if he can breathe under water" he says
"stabbing to death" he says again
"impenetrable skin and regeneration can help there" Joseph replies
"hanging" he says
"he would surely be able to fly. That won't work" Joseph replies and I smile "my lord if any of this means of killing is applied and he survives he becomes a foe and he has the power to tip the balance to any side in this war. Do we want to take such chance" Joseph says and I acknowledge his wisdom. The others begin to murmur so I take charge.
"Silence everyone" I say and they all quiet down "you are all right but we can't kill the kid because a little insubordination out of ignorance and like Joseph said we know nothing of his kind so we will train him, study him and earn his trust and support. That way we can be sure he would give his life for our cause, officially today he becomes my ward and he should be treated with the same respect my other children get." I say and they stand to argue but I cut them off "that's final." I say and they bow as I get up and leave the throne room.
