Pulling the syringe out of my arm i stared at the island we were approaching, we needed to do emergency repairs and try to get our bearings so we had no choice but to land to The island
" something is off about it place." Strangely the island seemed to shimmer from a distance
" I smell something sweet in the air." Shane was sniffing the air caught of guard by the strange aroma. The other kids started doing the same
I did as well an indeed I did pick up on a sweet aroma that got stronger the closer to the island we got
When the ship finally breached the shore a giant plume of white shot into the air before falling back down and coating us in a powdery white film
Hearing a suckling sound i looked down to see Shane with a finger in his mouth, moving quickly i lightly slapped it out of his mouth
" dont do that it could be poisonous." He looked at me a bit hurt his ears flat as he shock his hand
"But it tasted sweet."
"The kid is right !" one of the crew nearby agreed with shane having done the exact same
' idiot at least the "kid"as an excuse of being young and inexperienced' bending down i took a few pinches of the powder that landed on the ship an put it inside a small container I teleported to me then shook it
A few seconds later it glowed a bright green letting out a sigh of relief not knowing how i was suppose to tell one of my closest friends his son got poisoned because of me
" its safe!" Doing what they did, i took a lick of a bit of the powder on my arm causing my eyes to widen a second later
' its powder sugar!, but how?' Looking back at Edward who just tasted it too I saw his reaction be similar to mine
" you and the two of you with me we are going to investigate the island for supplies,the rest of you begin repairs with what we have." Throwing a rope ladder down Edward, his first mate and the two that looked alike and had brought the crate with the kids up on deck descended to the shore
" what?, you can't order me around you work for me i want to checkthe island out to " i said this after Edward stared at me onceI jumped down bringing the kids with me
"The water looks off." One of the twins spoke up before Edward said anything back pointing at where the water met the shore or I guess i should say powder sugar
Indeed it was off as the water rolled up the sugar it started to fizz up abnormally more then should have been possible
" no way! " Leaning down with the same container i used earlier I let a bit of the water flow into it before capturing it inside and analyze it
When it cleared,mirroring each other Edward and I scooped a bit of water in our hands and drank it " it's soda!" We both yelled at the same time
After our stunning discovery we continued up the shore to the island itself in silence both lost in thought as we continue to examine things
The ground beneath us was compacted brown sugar the grass " growing " out of it was some kind of soft material also edible and sweet, the palm trees all around us were made from taffy an the fruit on them had a soft outer coating but inside contained a sweet syrup
Everything on the island was made from some kind of candy or sugar based treat from the shimmering rocks and taffy trees to the powder sugar shore an soda pop streams even the clouds about the place looked off being fluffyer and more vibrant in color it, wouldn't surprise me if it was cotton candy
The kids were having a blast running around tasting Everything laughing and giggling as they did of course i checked everything before it ever got close to there mouths
Eventually we came across a path that lead through the shimmering rocks lined with lollipops and sugar canes
" are you thinking the same as me." Edward asked me as we began following the path the kids were in front of us oooing and aweing at everything they came across
The twins were basically doing the same thing as the kids making me question why he brought them, his first mate, him were the only other ones besides myself taking this somewhat seriously
"That we somehow stumbled across a mythical island from a kids show...what ever could give you that idea."
" on a more serious note this is amazing information dont understand how this is even possible but that's not what worrying me have you noticed yet? We continued on the pathway not letting the children get to far head
Nodding he answered me " we haven't come across or even seen a single bit of wildlife seens leaving the cloud ."
' good I knew I wouldn't be better only one to notice this.'
" that's why I brought the kids and left my summons on the ship, if something happened its better if we're are together when it does." Just as I was finished speaking we got the end of the path which, it lead to a wooden cabin in perfect condition with two floors judging by the amount of windows
Cabin itself wasn't weird it was the fact it was made out of wood on a island composed of candy an sugar
" Stop!,let us go first." I yelled to the kids before they opened the cabin's door
Taking a moment to clear the cabin with Edward determining that it was safe we allowed the others to follow us inside
" its weird how clean everything is." I nodded to one of the twins statement
The interior of the cabin looked like you would expect, candles al around to provide light when it became night or areas that were naturally dark
There was a fireplace near the entrance with a set of stairs to the right of the it before opening up to what looked like a dinner room that in turn lead to a study filled with books some were for reading others formulas of some kind I couldn't understand
To the left of the fireplace was a primitive kitchen with a large window opposite it allowing for a beautiful view of the island
Upstairs just held two bedrooms one looked to be for a child judging from the colors that were painted on the wall along with poorly drawn, drawings of animals or people
lastly there was a small bed that laid in one of the corners near the window with dolls that looked to have been handmade, I stopped the kids from touching anything in this room until we learned more
The other room was plain, very minimalist the only things in it were a bed and a dresser almost like the person who lived here did care to put anything else
" its odd I can't find any signs of life." I nodded mentioning i wasn't sensing anyone either
" I'll check the back." There was door that lead to the back of the house that was connected to the cabin we didn't go out there yet wanting to clear the cabin first
The back of the cabin was barren showing the same landscape as the rest of the island except for the two graves not far from the door one grave was covered while the other wasn't, holding a human skeleton like they had laid there waiting to die but no one was there to cover their remains
Only one ha a headstone it read " to my sweet,precious daughter may your rest be peaceful and your sweet dreams be ever lasting the happiness you have gave will last forever i have failed you in this life but i won't fail again. May we meet again your ever doting father
" is this who lived here papa?" Emily asked after I read the tombstone out loud for those around me to hear having followed me out here with te'let
" more then likely little one, i wonder if he was the one that created this island".
A ghastly voice suddenly echoed around us after i had asked my question " I was,this island is a tribute to my daughter
The covered skeleton came to life a blue orb appeared where it's eyes use to be as he stood up and out of the grave standing in front of us
Every move the skeleton took caused the bones to creek and clank due to the lack of flesh covering the body
Grabbing my staff and moving it in front of me I slowly pushed the kids behind me
" there is no need for that i don't wish to harm you ." The skeleton raised both its arm's in surrender
" if your the one who did this how and why did you do it." The skeleton signed which was a bit weird since he didn't have lungs an walked over to the tombstone gently rubbing it as a flower appeared in his other hand
" that a simple answer really i did it for love."
Once he played it on the grave he continued " my daughter was born with a extremely rare disease that slowly caused her mana to be sucked from her body, meaning she would die and probably young." There was a pause for a moment
" her mother tried to accept this but it grew to difficult for her to watch the life she gave birth to slowly wither away before she was five it hurt even more knowing how long it took for her to conceive. Im sure you understand being a traveler yourself." I tried not to show my surprise as my suspicions were confirmed
Stealthily spreading my control out i locked space around everyone close to me so they couldn't be manipulated
" left alone with my daughter in a world that rejected her i tried everything i could to save her life, eventually I stumbled across blood magic that allowed me the help her. In the end it was merely a bandage, so seeing the end was near for her I came to this island isolated us from the world that didn't want her to begin with an did what I could to make the last year of her life the happiest I could provide so much so I turned a entire island into candies from my world for her to enjoy. she really loved sweets it helped give her energy."
I could feel for the guy i couldn't imagine how i would feel if i where in his shoes if Elise left me because Emily was doomed to die it would probably break me
Looking back to us he smiling even, at least i think." im happy she wasn't the only one to enjoy it and someone else was able to see her wish."
At his thoughts drifted to something else as he continued looking at us, now it was past us
Looking around for a moment i finally realized what he was staring at " you can see them can't you?". All around me were the people i have killed since coming back te'let's mother was perched on the roof of the cabin looking down at her daughter ignoring the rest of us i still couldn't understand why this was happening to me
I just accepted it as a curse for giving into my anger an killing innocents " yes,what-who are you?"
"Im like you a loving husband and father most call me ghost, this here is my daughter Emily and te'let the spiderling the others inside...you can call them family friends."
" then why are you ?" The intently grew in the voice coming from the skeleton." I guess its my turn to say im not hostile
" we stumbled across this island after entering a mana cloud on our way to our destination, inside we encountered many as I would ghost ships controlled by undead after having sustained damage from our attack/escape and thinking we made it out of the mana cloud we saw this island glittering in the distance an see no other options we landed to do repairs on the ship began we sail out again to leave the cloud. this is not our destination."
" ever loyal even in death." After that whisper he sighed nodding
" I see I must apologize then I created that cloud to isolate us i never wanted to have people around after her mother left." Man i really feel bad for this guy but I still need to know how
" that gets back to my other question how did you do all this."
" what do you mean? dont we share the same element." I was confused and a bit fearful by his statement

The orbs that were in place of his eyes glowed brighter " yes star correct....awww I see you haven't reached enlightenment. "
This wasn't the first time i heard something like this Illian explained something similar when we had our talk, at least I think it is
" enlighten what do you mean?"
" it a bit hard to say it's different for everyone with the star element but the basic thing is our control extends past just space itself but also matter and physics." Leaning down the earth rose up to meet his had before he broke it of in the shape of a bird
The bird shifted from dirt to clay then stone and finally glass " hope that helps explain it im afraid any more explaining might hinder your progress we all have to reach enlightenment in our own way and on our own terms."
I scratched my chin staring at the glass bird that was a clump of dirt " i think I understand a little of your meaning, thank you."
A loud chime rang around the island it was the ship signaling the repairs were complete
" sweetheart go back inside with everyone its time for us to leave" sad she didn't resist me and went back inside to the others so we could heard back
" if you are about to depart may I ask you kill me for i wish to meet my daughter again I've been trapped in this state for far to long."
" is this truly what you wish for." He nodded and somehow it could see the sadness in his movement
" these old bones are ready to move on." I couldn't blame him i would be to
" ok." Taking a step back i moved my hands a few inches apart with him in the middle " may you find peace and happiness in your next life."
Slamming my palms together i crushed his entire skeleton into dust in one go
Although nothing visually happened it felt like a weight had been taken off the world somehow and there in the pile of dust a black book bound in white leather stood waiting for me to pick it up
Bending down I gently took it in my gasp before using gravity to move the dust into the empty grave and covering it
Taking the glass bird I placed it onto of the grave and etched into it with my lightning
' here lays a doting father who loved his daughter to the very may they find peace and ever lasting love together in the afterlife.'
Turning I walked away linking back up with the others before sail back out and around the island hoping this would take us to our destination this time
