Olivia swallowed, her fingers tangling together in her lap as she has another question on her mind. Her voice came out hesitant, uncertain but filled with a gnawing curiosity.
"June...what about Kafka himself? Did he ever notice?"
"I mean...he's usually so perceptive with people, it's hard to hide anything from him. Do you think maybe...he also has some feelings for you too?"
For a moment, June just stared at her, then suddenly scoffed and let out a small laugh, shaking her head.
"No. Not at all. Don't worry about that." She said, though her smile carried a touch of irony. "Kafka...he only sees me as a close friend. As painful as it is to admit, that's all. Nothing more."
Olivia blinked, surprised at how bluntly she said it.
"But...he's so observant. If you felt that way, how could he not notice?"
At this, June's expression softened, becoming a mixture of wry amusement and faint exasperation.
