My eyes went bloodshot however no matter how my mind wanted to move my body didn't obeyed of it.
I was wailing inside yet the invisible force didn't stop.
Inside the inferno, my master immediately erected dozens of magic barriers.
One after another.
The mighty spell were shattered

The old mage's eyes widened.
The flames didn't simply burn the shields.
They consumed the mana sustaining them.
Every barrier disappeared almost instantly, as though the fire regarded magic itself as fuel.
He raised another.
Then another.
Each lasted only moments before melting away.
The flames reached him.
"AAAGH!"
For the first time in decades, the great archmage screamed.
His robes ignited.
His skin blistered.
The fire clung to him relentlessly, refusing to be extinguished.
