They fell like hail from the clouds, talons attempting to tear the city barrier, forcing civilians to cower in the underground bunker, while the soldiers at the surface desperately fight to keep the barrier from breaking. The eastern forces fought fiercely, their magic ballista bolts tracing arcs of fire through the night sky, but there were too many.
Apollo then realized that the enemy troops must have used not just the failed homunculi experiment, but also the failed test subject that mutated from the fragment's power.
