The police asked me to identify myself and I told them I was a Mercenary who borrowed the Exo-Knight when they attacked.
Thankfully, they had the sense to verify my identity and I was considered as a Merc who jumped in to help and wasn't treated as a threat anymore.
Yep, I was upgraded from a 'possible threat' to a 'very suspicious individual', yay…
I thought the police would demand that I leave the Exo-Knight but surprisingly, they told me to stay inside it and wait for the owners to return.
I think that they wanted me to remain inside just in case there were more Exo-Knights that these guys might have hacked and they hoped I would be able to deal with them.
So I was just stuck inside the Exo-Knight and waiting for the police to clear out the place to make sure there weren't any more of these guys.
I did, however, manage to find out what these guys were after when I asked one of the officers about it.
