Chapter 6 - The Dilemma of the Utshani Royal Court: Part 2 (Temporary chapter title)

Within the halls of the Utshani Kingdom Royal Court

""""Huuuuuh?!""""

"What?! But you did not object what I had to say when-"

"That was just an act on my part, princess. I can't have the Grand Master and his disciple thinking that I would argue with you on anything now can I?" the hornbill interrupted the princess.

"And what possible reason could you have for suggesting that this human will be a good mediator?" the buffalo mink asked the royal messenger with raised eyebrows.

"As I said earlier Minister Pembe, the person that Grand Master Fushi wishes to send as an envoy on his behalf was one of the honorable marines that actually tried to save as many innocents as possible in whatever way she can." the hornbill messenger eloquently answered the question that was directed towards him.

"She was a marine? That is reason enough to not consider inviting her into our beloved nation." Sifa yelled in outrage as he slammed his fists on the table.

"I agree with Minister Sifa on the matter! No human shall ever set foot anywhere on our island again! Especially a human that worked for such a despicable organization!" Pembe echoed the lion mink's words as he stood up from his seat while glaring at the den den mushi before him.

"It seems that you are following the news related to the Marines. But we will be unable to guarantee that this disciple of his will be up for the task solely based on what the newspapers have to say about her. It appears that the search for a mediator will have to be extended for a while longer." Mjuzi solemnly remarked as he stroked his chin with a nod. 'To be honest, I was not expecting you to pay attention to the events that are taking place outside our homeland with such diligence little messenger. Good luck with convincing the rest of my colleagues, seeing as you have to do this while you are accompanying the princess on this mission.' the wildebeest mink noted in silence.

"Royal messenger, do I have to remind you that anyone associated with such an organization must not be brought to the island under any circumstance?" Spots chastised the royal messenger.

"I am well aware of why it would be problematic if humans were to enter the island, but I am certain that the one whom Grand Master Fushi wishes to send as a mediator on his behalf is a person that is capable of keeping things under wraps. After all, she was the one who made a name for herself by resolving the incident that took place at the Frigid Peaks." the royal messenger responded to Spots' question, to which the ministers reacted in stunned silence. And for a brief moment, they were processing the information that the royal messenger had just shared with them.

"Hold on, you are telling me that the woman standing beside the Grand Master is the one that was once went by the alias Tirujaga?" The princess' yelled out, breaking the silence.

'To think that the Grand Master was able to teach a person as infamous as her… Truly, the names of the people that trained under the old man really is impressive.' Sifa thought in his head, stunned at the revelation that such a well renowned person was a disciple of the one that they wished to come to their island as a mediator.

'Well that explains why the Grand Master was so confident in dismissing the princess and the royal messenger's offer to bring him in as a mediator.' Kushinda concluded once he heard the new piece of information that the royal messenger shared with them.

'If he had led with this information in order to make things easier for him. But it is good that he added this piece of information rather than later.' Mjuzi began to analyze the way the royal delivered the news to them, before looking at both Spots and Pembe 'although it looks like you may not have won over some of us.'

'So what if someone of her status was to be sent as a mediator on behalf of that old geezer? She should still not be allowed to come into our island. You guys should not soften your stance just because you heard her name. But unfortunately, most of my colleagues will vote in favour of allowing her to enter the island.' Spots chastised his colleagues as he observed them with a deep frown on his face.

'My decision still remains the same. Not that it matters anyways, seeing as only Spots is the only one who will share the same sentiment as me.' Pembe thought as his nostrils flared.

"Are you certain that the one beside the Grand Master is the one that you are referring to?"

"Yes Minister Pembe, the woman standing before us was in fact once known as Tirujaga."

"Hmm, that is a big bombshell that you just dropped on us. It appears that you have managed to successfully find a mediator without traveling too far from our island. Nicely done." Mjuzi complimented the princess and the royal messenger in a halfhearted manner.

"Be prepared to set sail for the island tomorrow, for we acknowledge Tirujaga to be a worthy candidate as a mediator. Do inform the Grand Master that there will be no need for him to send a letter of recommendation to us. We will now discuss some of the details of how we will be accommodating her during her stay on our island among ourselves, so we will end the call." Kushinda told the messenger and the princess before either of them could voice their concerns.

"It looks like we may have luck on our side gentlemen, for we may have finally found an unbiased third party that could actually resolve the conflict between the royal members of the family. But seeing as she is of important note, we will have to discuss the arrangements that we will need to make for our guest once she arrives on our island." the cheetah mink addressed his colleagues, before he looked at two of his colleagues.

"Spots, Pembe, I understand that you have some reservations on allowing the one known as Tirujaga enter our borders, but we cannot afford to extend the search for a mediator. Time is of the essence after all, and there is verifiable proof that Tirujaga fits the bill of an unbiased meidator." Kushinda addressed the two members of the royal court as he continued to look at the two in question. And not long after the cheetah mink spoke to them, the two disapproving ministers nodded their heads (albeit they did so reluctantly) in approval.

"Very well then, let us now resume talking about the matters that we were talking about before we discuss how we will accommodate our mediator." Kushinda said before they continued their meeting.

Meanwhile, after Kushinda ended the call with the princess

"Well, that went as well as could be expected." The hornbill voiced his surprise before he looked in the princess' direction and shivered once he met her eyes.

"Mdomo, I understand that you do not have an obligation to tell me certain things, but why did you have to keep the fact that the woman standing next to the Grand Master was indeed the hero of the Frigid Peaks Incident?" the princess asked the winged royal messenger as she growled at him.

"W-well, I figured that it would be better for me to relay this piece of information since they are more likely to doubt you sharing this piece of information with them."

"Why do you have to- You know what, I'm not going to chew your ear out. Let's just go and relay what the response of the ministers to the Grand Master's terms and conditions." The princess sighed before she exited the room with Mdomo rested on one of the princess' shoulders.
