For a moment, the battlefield turned quiet, as if time had stopped.
The 9-star warrior realm remained in place, at a standstill.
The beasts below had stopped attacking, awaiting orders, and so did the humans behind the city barrier, waiting in anticipation and fear.
'Such power,' Selena's heart jumped. 'It alone destroyed the barrier created by five of our beasts...'
She and the other head generals looked at each other. Without the need for words, they understood the situation, their gazes involuntarily going up, glancing at their spaceship far into the sky.
Selena could only grit her teeth. 'Damn...' She cursed, but her eyes flashed with determination. 'Now is not the time to think about cost. The important thing is to defend the city at all costs and buy time.'
She glanced behind.
The injured beast tamers were getting treatment, including the flame paladins.
But her eye landed on the person behind her feet, lying on the cold stone wall.
