Adam laughed out loud, making the young server take a step back in alarm. His laughter then stopped abruptly, and he asked, "Hey, you. What did you just say? Could you repeat that?"
He figured that because of the ravings of the Faceless Mask, he might not have been able to hear the server clearly. But the truth was, he just wasn't familiar with the local language.
The server, on the other hand, was startled by a couple of things about Adam. Firstly, he would burst into a crazed fit of laughter every few seconds. Secondly, for some reason, he spoke in a very loud voice even though the two were near one another.
Thirdly, and most importantly, Adam not being able to understand the local language and speaking in a foreign language meant one thing…
"Outsider," the server muttered with a forced smile.
The people of Yen-lu didn't really take well to foreigners visiting their lands. These people shared a bloody history with the people of Europa.
