The forests around Carleon are not particularly remarkable. Unlike the less populated places of Latrides, much of the forests are pretty sparse and full of people who can't afford to live in Carleon, but still make their living there. The forest that surrounds Lucas' manor is far more wild and thick, and even that is nowhere near as thick or dangerous as places like Aldridge or Torrens.
Even still, in this particular spot, north of Carleon, the space is fairly rough. No one really lives in this area, as it's nestled too close to the mountainous region that offers Carleon its natural defensibility.
There's still a road through it, and it's well maintained - though that will change as we go further away from the heart of Latrides and closer to the barren and lost lands of nations fallen in the War of the Tear.
