'This is absurd.'
But...
Not as absurd as his nightmares disguised as dreams.
Sitting alone in his home office, Calix recalled everything Leslie had just confided in him regarding Evelyn almost one hour ago.
To say he was shocked was an understatement. His feeling went beyond that.
His sister's secret boyfriend would cheat on her?
Did the man have a death wish?
Calix propped one elbow on the swivel chair's armrest, supporting one side of his face. His gaze blankly stared at the closed door of the room.
Leslie's voice continued to echo in his mind, followed by the look of regret.
"I dreamed of Evelyn getting cheated... on by her hidden lover."
"I'm sorry, Calix... I've been wanting to tell you this... but I kept delaying until now..."
Despite being surprised by Leslie's other prophetic dream, Calix was relieved because it was not something as violent as what Violet might have gone through before.
