Every hero needs an end. After a lifetime of fighting, loving, losing, and learning ever since he was 10, Benjamin Kirby "Ben" Tennyson was resting his old, weary bones, laid on his floating bed, and overlooking the endless, vast universe. Although to him, it was not so vast anymore. He lived a full life. His son, Kent, has long since taken over as the universe's protector, inheriting the Omnitrix. He even has his son, whom he trains to inherit him further.
This has turned into quite the family business. His wife has long since passed away into the next life. Kai…She gave him quite the earful whenever he acted silly or lazed around. It was strange. He often hoped those would end, but now, he wished she'd scold him one last time. Everyone he knew, or most of them at least, were either no more or old, like him. He looked almost like his grandfather now, except for the belly.
Poor Max…He sure lived a long life, but at least he was with their grandmother now, likely enjoying one of his weird dishes in heaven somewhere. Right now, he had little left to do other than rest his weary bones and enjoy the sights before him. At times, he wished he could fight one last time against who knows what kind of threat, but he knows what is possible.
One of Azmuth's last words to him was a warning. Years of using the Omnitrix and Master Control took quite a toll on him in old age. Even now, he was connected to an IV with medicine to keep him going, as much as he loathed this. But, alas, there was nothing he could do. Every hero needs an end, and he should be grateful. Not many heroes end up dying from old age.
He sighed. "At least I hope I don't turn into some Ghostfreak reject upon my death."
"That is quite the grim statement, Benjamin." Ben didn't need to turn to recognize that voice, as simply hearing him was enough.
The time traveler, Professor Paradox.
"Paradox, it is good to see you," Ben replied as the good Professor went to his side, letting him see the old hero. "How have you been? Haven't seen you in a few years."
"For you, it might have been a few years, old friend, but for me, it has only been a few seconds. You were younger…Much younger." The Professor said, sounding regretful even. "I always disliked this moment in the timeline when you are so close to your final breath."
Hearing him, strangely, Ben smiled a bit, and then he asked. "Tell me, Paradox. Just this once. How long?"
The Professor sighed, and then he gave Ben the answer with a straight face. "4, maybe 5 days if you get more medicine."
"That long, huh?" Ben added, smiling as he heard him. "I don't have long, huh? Know what? I have no regrets. Honestly, I don't even know what I could regret. I am leaving behind a great legacy, and my son is stepping in my footsteps and filling my shoes nicely."
"Are you sure about that, Ben?" Paradox asked him, and as if seeing through thin paper, he continued. "Say it, old friend."
"I wish only one thing, Paradox," Ben replied, then he pressed a button on his bed, which brought forth a box of some kind. "10 years ago, you appeared before me, telling me to do this. You said I would know what it is for when the time comes, but seeing as I am close to dying, I think that time is now, isn't it?"
"Precisely," Paradox replied.
"My last regret…My last wish is to be a hero to someone one last time." Ben said, holding the box in his hands. "This box I am holding…I cannot imagine what Azmuth would say about the technology within. It was easily classified as Level 21 Bio-Technology, maybe even higher. So tell me, Paradox, why did you have me gather the greatest minds of the universe to create a new Omnitrix?"
"Good question, Ben. Why wait 10 years as well, when it was finished after only 3?" Paradox began to explain, being as hard to understand as ever. "I guess it is because there is a way for you to be a hero one last time, old friend. Here." Paradox placed a holo-screen before Ben, displaying the images of a certain boy. "This is from an alternate universe."
"Who is this boy?" Ben asked, looking at the screen.
"His name is Izuku Midoriya. He is Japanese. His world is plenty different from ours, as despite being in a similar year as the current one, they never made contact with alien life." Paradox began to explain. "Instead, everyone in his world developed unique powers they named Quirks. But he was born Quirkless. He doesn't have a Quirk, and for that, he was treated as a Pariah almost his entire life."
"Poor kid…What about his parents?" Paradox shook his head.
"The father booked it, and his mother, despite how loving she is, doesn't believe in his dream," Paradox explained. "In his world, being a hero is a profession. He wishes to become one, like his idol, but without a Quirk, that is like fighting Vilgax stark naked."
Ben flinched at the comparison, and then he continued to watch the screen, seeing various scenes from Izuku's life. "Why show me this, Paradox?"
"To give your final judgment," Paradox replied. "Izuku is a brilliant young man, Ben. Very much so. He is good and honest and selfless to a fault."
Ben snorted. "Pretty much everything I was not when I first got the Omnitrix."
"In a way, but you were good, too. Just green." Paradox continued. "Even after years of abuse from everyone around him, he still holds to his pure heart. But that will change if nothing is done."
"What do you mean?" Ben asked. Then the images switched, showing Izuku, but…Broken. He was killing. being the opposite of a hero…A villain. "What the fuck is this, Paradox?!"
"Izuku's life takes a rough corner, Ben. Way too rough for him. His idol, the hero All Might, crushed his dream." Hearing that, Ben gasped. "Not to mention the one he trusted as a friend told him to kill himself! That day was the peak of everything bad in his life, and it caused him to try and commit suicide! But he survived and fell into a deeper depression. He escaped the hospital and became a villain. But this path, as much as it destroyed his former bully, his idol, and the society he was born in, also ruined him."
Ben watched as Izuku stood atop a mountain of rubble, hurt deeply but laughing maniacally, gloating over every defeated foe. But then, suddenly, he seems to break down in tears. He talks about how he never wished for this, how society pushed him that far, and that despite it all, he holds no real hate anymore. He took his revenge, and now, he was without purpose. Hollow. Ben watched as he took out a gun and placed it beside his head. He couldn't watch anymore and closed the screen, unable to watch anymore.
"My God…" Ben said, shocked by the things seen. "What is wrong with his world to create such a monster out of such a good person?"
"A lot, old friend. It needs something it has not seen in years and has too little of: A real hero. A hero with the power to defeat any opponent." Paradox said, and Ben looked at the box once again. "The Omnitrix. If you deem Izuku worthy, I will take it to him. Set him on the right path."
"Tell me, Paradox…Has such a path even been written yet?" Ben asked, and thankfully, the Professor smiled.
"Yes, many timelines. But they are all tied to one point, and unfortunately, almost all of them end up in disaster for Izuku and, later, his world." Paradox stated. "In some, he makes it as a hero or vigilante, but even after all the good he has done, after the final battle, or during it, he always perishes sooner or later, and when he does, his work gets washed away."
"So we are making a new path yet to be explored," Ben said, holding up the Omnitrix in the box. "Paradox…If Izuku lets the world's corruption get to him-"
"It won't happen," Paradox assured Ben. "As I said, things are strongly tied to one point. If I can change this point, everything will change."
"It is, as you said, Paradox. The boy is a real hero in the making." Ben said, looking again at the screen to see Izuku again. "He is everything I never was when I was his age…Especially smart."
"You always did leave the brains to your cousin," Paradox remarked. "So? What is your call?"
Slowly, Ben reached out to Paradox with the box, and the Professor picked it up. "Take it to Izuku. Make sure he becomes a hero his world can rely on, someone they can fall to when times are harsh and give them hope…Give this kid back his hope, Paradox."
"No, Ben…You did." Paradox said, and finally, Ben understood.
"I see…If I said no, nothing would change. My last act as a hero…"
"Is becoming Izuku's hero. I will tell him about you, Ben. The first user of the Omnitrix and the greatest hero of his world." Paradox replied, then he looked at the time. "Time is of the essence, I am afraid. It's sad to think this is possibly the last time we will meet, and the next time I do see you, it will be at your wake."
Ben smiled. "Just make sure Kevin's grandchild doesn't ruin it. That kid had a knack for trouble, just like his grandfather, and didn't inherit anything from his grandmother."
"Will do. Now…Goodbye, Benjamin."
"Goodbye…Old friend."
Izuku Midoriya, a teen currently around 18, was sleeping at home. His third year of High School was almost finished, and as such, he was waiting impatiently for his break from all the bullies there. He, a teen on the skinnier side, Quirkless, and with no useful talent, couldn't wait to be left alone with no shouting, mocking, or threats. His green hair and freckles were easily seen tonight as moonlight poured from his window, but strangely, as Izuku was going to notice, another source of light appeared.
"Huh?" He noticed it and slowly got up, only to see the light die down. His blurry vision from exhaustion had him take a second to focus on the new person in his room, noticing their strange attire. He was on the older side, which was evident by his wrinkles and gray hair. He wore some kind of white coat with brown and black pouches and gold trim, and underneath, he had a black turtleneck with a white scarf and a brown vest with gold buttons and pouches.
He has a pair of goggles around his neck, a strange, metallic gauntlet on his right hand, and a fingerless glove on his left. His black pants had brown knee pads, and he wore a pair of brown boots with gold straps.
What was the first thing Izuku did? Panic.
"Ah!" he shouted, and Paradox was thankful he had set up a noise cancellation field before coming in unannounced. "Who are you?!" The boy cowered himself at the top of his bed, which Paradox had to admit was like the rest of the room. He really idolized All Might.
"Easy there, Izuku," Paradox replied, keeping his calm. "My name is Paradox."
"Strange name- Wait, how do you know my name?" Izuku asked again, trying to find an exit, but to no use. Paradox, as he claimed he was named, was blocking the only exit, and he didn't know why his mother did not hear him scream. "What do you want?!"
"Please, calm yourself. I mean no harm." Paradox said with honesty. Izuku, however, remained on guard. "I am here with a gift from far away."
"A gift?" Izuku said cautiously. However, he didn't get closer. "I- I don't buy it! How did you get into my apartment?"
"I just walked inside," Paradox replied casually, but then he recalled his first encounter with Ben. "Well, not really. It is a bit more complex, but I mean it when I say I wish you no harm. I am a time traveler."
"Impossible! There is no such quirk out there!" Izuku exclaimed, but then the professor cleared his throat.
"How about a demonstration? Tell me, do you have any recent photos?" Paradox asked. Then Izuku slowly pointed to his phone. Paradox saw it and opened the device. No lock? Come on, Izuku. You have to be less trusting of others.
Regardless, he quickly found a recent photo of a hero fighting against a villain. "This will do." He said, handing the phone to Izuku. "Now, please look at the photo carefully, and don't take your eyes off it."
Izuku did as told, carefully picking up the phone and staring at the picture. And sure enough, he immediately noticed a change. There he was, in the crowd, the same man who was currently in his room, smiling at him and holding up a peace sign, which he was presently mimicking in his room. "H-how. I remember every detail of this photo." It was then Izuku realized that Paradox was telling the truth, which caused him to drop his phone. "Oh my God…"
"I can understand you might be overwhelmed with information, but I am afraid I must be mindful of my time here." The professor replied, looking at his clock. "So, I will go ahead and give you short answers. No, I won't answer any questions you have about the future, the past, or the present. My ability is not a quirk; if you suspect it, I am also from an alternate universe vastly different from this one."
Izuku nodded his head, trying to understand everything. "And…What do you mean by 'gift'?" He asked, and that was what Paradox was waiting for.
"In my world, there was once a great hero. His name was Benjamin Tennyson, and he wielded the device known as the Omnitrix. With it, he had the power to transform into any alien race in the universe, and he used their abilities for the greater good. But time said its sentence, and he grew old." Paradox explained. "However, I have been watching you, Izuku Midoriya."
Izuku gulped.
"You have what it takes to be a great hero, just like Ben was," Paradox said, and his words to Izuku made the boy look at him closely. "In this world, you were born quirkless. But that is not to say you will remain powerless."
Paradox brought the box out and placed it on the bed in front of Izuku. "What is in there?"
"Before I asked Ben if you were worthy, I asked him to create a new Omnitrix just for you. Something that doesn't break easily, seeing as your world has no capable individuals able to fix such a device." Paradox explained, then he gestured to the box. "Put your finger on the top of the box and press it."
"An Omnitrix…Why are you giving me such power? I mean, surely there is someone more worthy of it-"
"There is not," Paradox said, firmly so. "Izuku, this is not about having a quirk. It never was. This is about you - who you truly are! I know you can be a great hero, and Ben believed in that as well. He and I believe in you, and this is why we selected you to have this honor."
Izuku once again gulped, shaking as he approached the box. At first, this was like finally becoming like everyone else, but then he realized something. Multiple alien lifeforms…It sounds like having numerous quirks. He wondered how that would go. Slowly, ever so, he pressed the button on top of the box, and it lit up and separated into several pieces orbiting around a now spherical center.
They projected strange lasers, and the sphere opened up, revealing a peculiar, floating green and black liquid within. "What is this?" And so, Izuku curiously reached out, and the professor knew his duty here was finished. The moment Izuku's finger touched the substance, it came to life and jumped on his arm. "AHHHH!" He shouted again, tripping over and falling off his bed, but for more reasons this time.
Paradox was aware of this, and so was Ben, but he didn't say anything. This new Omnitrix was special. It was biological technology combined with nano-technological modifications and a bit of Galvan ingenuity. But that being said, the liquid was forcing itself through Izuku's skin, into his bloodstream through his left arm, and binding to his nervous system. Izuku lost control of his body for 3.4 seconds, not to mention the pain in his left arm, which was only just now, 5 seconds later, starting to fade as well, letting the panting boy get up slowly. "Ow. That hurt."
"I can imagine," Paradox replied, then he looked at Izuku, pleased to see the process was a success. "Now, I will leave you to it, Young Izuku. You best go back to sleep." He said, picking up the now empty box that contained the Omnitrix. "You can explore your newfound abilities tomorrow."
"What? But I- I…What is…Going on." Without a clear explanation, Izuku collapsed on the floor, unconscious.
"Currently, the Omnitrix is still synching with you," Paradox said, despite knowing no one was listening. "It will make you sleepy, but when you wake up, everything should be set. Now…I will see you after you pass that exam, Izuku."
So, Professor Paradox fulfilled his objective, leaving Izuku Midoriya as the owner of the new Omnitrix.
"I AM HERE! I AM HERE! I AM HERE!"
Izuku flinched, hearing his alarm clock, and slowly, he was waking up. His eyes opened slowly, and his vision was a bit foggy at first. He also felt sore, but apart from that, he just felt as if Kacchan had too much fun…Again. Getting himself up, he noticed something odd. Why was he on the floor? More importantly, what happened last night?
He could vividly remember something about a man dressed in an old/new outfit, and then everything just faded to black. Going over to his watch to turn it off, Izuku stretched out his left arm…And that is when he saw it. "What the-" He panicked once again, seeing a strange device on his wrist! It was like some kind of watch strapped to a thin, almost skin-like bandana with a green, round face, but it didn't show the time. Instead, he was looking at a strange, green hourglass symbol. "Oh no, my mother will freak out if she sees this…Where the fuck is this from?!"
Usually, he wouldn't swear, but he was freaking out so much right now that he didn't care! It was very early in the morning, and his mother worked a night shift, so she was likely still asleep right now. He didn't wish to wake her, but he might fail in that regard. Slowly, however, he began to recall the events of last night, remembering the man named Paradox…He mentioned things about aliens and a device to allow a person to turn into those aliens.
The Omnitrix…Wait, did that mean aliens were real?! If they are real, then why has their world never found evidence about them before or made contact with them? Well, there are plenty of people who have claimed to have seen them, but they are brushed off as crazy! But he also said he came from an alternate universe, so did that mean those aliens didn't exist in his universe? Just who was Paradox, and what did he mean last night?
Also, this couldn't be THAT Omnitrix; it was just so small. Curiously but carefully, he reached out to it with his right hand, but upon touching it, he experienced a secondary shock.
"Omnitrix activated." A female voice was heard from the device, which lit up as well. "The Omnitrix has fully synced with the current user. Requesting identification."
"W-what? Hello?" Izuku replied, not sure what was going on. Was the device talking?! It was waiting for identification, and right now, Izuku didn't doubt that things might be more real than he thought. Gulping, he went through with the identification. "My name is Izuku Midoriya." He replied, and the Omnitrix shifted, the hourglass shape rotating once.
"Name confirmed. Biometric scans reveal that the user is male, age 17, and nearly 18. State of their body shows a lack of exercise."
"You don't need to point out that I am scrawny…" Izuku muttered.
"Understood. The Omnitrix shall refrain from making references to the user's physical condition if the user finds it offensive."
"Thank you- Wait, you can communicate?! I thought you were just some AI!" Izuku replied in further surprise.
"The current Omnitrix you wield is equipped with an advanced AI to assist you." The Omnitrix replied. "The Omnitrix requires further security measures. Please answer a couple of questions for future needs to check your identity."
"Alright…"
"Favorite hobby?"
"Analyzing heroes and their quirks, sometimes villains as well."
"Noted. Favorite food?"
"Katsudon."
"Noted. Mother's name?"
"Inko Midoriya. My father's name is Hisashi Midoriya."
"Noted, and thank you for the additional input. Nickname you have been given?"
Hearing that one, Izuku hesitated a bit. "Deku."
"Noted. Detected Emotional Activity. Inquiry: Is this nickname perhaps of a negative nature?"
"...Yes," Izuku replied with hesitation.
"The Omnitrix is equipped with a multi-dictionary and universal translator. Searching…Result acquired. The nickname 'Deku' is an alternate reading of the user's first name, using alternate Kanji lettering. Its meaning is often used as an insult for those believed to be unable to achieve anything or are useless."
"Huh…You are really smart." Izuku noted, and then he made a request. "Can we perhaps continue?"
"Very well. So far, all the information given can be shared by close friends or relatives. As such, the Omnitrix is going to require a more private sort of information based on a randomized question."
Izuku gulped.
"Favorite heroine which often plays out in the user's fantasies." Izuku choked on his spit, hearing the Omnitrix ask such a question, which caused him to go red.
"Is such information really necessary?!" Izuku asked, but all he got back was pure silence. He didn't feel comfortable answering such a question verbally, so he went to his desk and wrote the name on a piece of paper, which he then showed to the watch.
"Notice: The Omnitrix is fully integrated into the user's body, to the point it shares the user's senses. Your eyes are enough." Hearing the device, Izuku blushed further before throwing the paper away. "However, the information has been processed and acquired. Omnitrix main functions unlocked.
"I see…Can I get a full list of functions?" Izuku asked, and then he watched the hourglass shape return to its normal orientation.
"Accepted."
"I see…" Izuku said, looking through the list of features. "And the main function is that of transformation, correct?"
"Affirmative. However, due to the way the Omnitrix has been built and designed, if you are constantly switching between alien forms, the time limit set will be shortened significantly. This is due to the fact that the Omnitrix changes your DNA with each transformation, and inter-form transformations stress your DNA more than normal ones. Exceeding the safety limit is not recommended."
Izuku gulped, taking in all the information. Then, he raised his wrist, deciding to give its final test. "I am ready…" He said, and true enough, the device lit up, and a holographic image was displayed before his eyes. Multiple, for that matter!
"Currently, the user has access to 10 different alien species chosen by the Admin. Further forms will be unlocked based on the user's increasing compatibility and transformation time."
"Ok…" Izuku said, trying to see how he could handle this thing. Granted, all he had to do was swipe to the right or left to switch between them. He was shown full-body holographic images of each alien form, but he couldn't decide which one to select. "Wait, how do I even transform?" He asked while looking at the list.
"Answer: Double-tapping the interface once you have selected a new form to take."
"Huh? So I can just—" Doing as told, Izuku saw it pop up before him. He was startled a bit, but then, as he saw an image on it, he pressed down gently, and he found himself feeling... different. In 2.5 seconds, the holograms vanished, and his body glowed bright green.
Inko, having woken up early today thanks to it being an easy shift at work, was preparing Izuku's breakfast before he had to rush to school. However, she worried a bit. She hadn't woken up that long ago, but knowing her son, he should have been up by now and greeting her.
Worried he might be sleeping in, she went to his room just as a green flash of light washed over it. Scared, she pulled open the door. "Izuku, are you…ok?" She asked slowly, looking at the new being standing in the center of the room. It was a tall, strange being with a simplistic body. It was fully black with green lines going all over the body, with a circular section that seemed to act like an eye that she assumed was its head.
It had relatively large hands and feet when compared with its slightly smaller torso, and it looked…lost. Confused? But that being said, it didn't matter. All that mattered now was that Inko had a strange being in her son's room, and her son was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND!
"Who are you, and what did you do with Izuku?!" She screamed out, reaching for the phone, but the being seemed to react, outstretching its arm in a reflex and coiling it around Inko's hand.
"Wait, Mom, it's me!" The creature said, confusing Inko, who slowly put down her phone.
"I-Izuku?" She said slowly, the being nodding its head. His mother, however, couldn't believe her eyes. "B-but how? The doctor said-"
"I…" He couldn't tell her about the Omnitrix. Not yet, at least. "I don't know, but I have a quirk!" He said, feeling a bit bad for lying, but overall, he knew it was for the best.
"Oh my goodness, is it a mutation type?!" Inko reacted, giving him space to come out of his room and into the living room.
"I don't think so." He said again, and only now did Inko notice that the circular part seemed to light up according to his speech. "It feels more like a transformation-type. Wait…Let me try something."
Unknown to Inko, the Omnitrix was providing Izuku with a small summary of the alien he had turned into. Galvanic Mechamorph is an artificial race that can interact with technology and improve it. With that basic information, Izuku went to the kitchen and looked at the toaster. It broke down a while ago, and they were planning on getting a new one, but Izuku had other plans now.
Using the knowledge provided to him, he grabbed the toaster with his hand, letting his liquid body melt around it before he fully wrapped himself around it. This freaked Inko out a bit, making her go closer; what she saw shocked her. Multiple robotic legs seemed to sprout from the toaster as Izuku tried to upgrade it.
But he eventually settled on the original plan and just…fixed it. After plugging the toaster back in, he separated himself from it, went over to the bread, took some slices, placed them in the toaster, and saw it work perfectly.
"Did you just…Izuku, what did you do?!" Inko asked in shock.
"I combined myself with the toaster," Izuku replied, trying to explain this particular form. "It seems that, in this form, I can combine with technology, alter it, fix it, and who knows what else."
"Oh my goodness, sweetie, this is great!" Inko said, going over to Izuku and hugging him despite his current state. "I am so happy you finally got your quirk! We need to get it registered as well! I have a short shift today, so let's go later to the office and get it registered, OK?"
"Alright, Mom," Izuku replied. Then he focused a bit, the light enveloping him again, and turned back. He did, however, feel a chill go through him. "I will need time to get used to that."
"And such a clean transformation!" Inko remarked as well, placing a hand over her chest. "I cannot express enough how happy a day this is! You can finally be a hero, Izuku! With a quirk like that, there is no way they won't let you into UA- Izuku, what is that on your wrist?" And just like that, Inko's happy state was switched over as soon as she noticed the Omnitrix on Izuku's wrist.
"It is most likely part of my quirk!" Izuku said quickly, trying to evade his mother's suspicion.
"Oh, ok." Crisis averted. "In that case, how about we sit down and have breakfast? You do need to get to school as well."
Oh right…School. He does wonder how everyone there might react to his new 'quirk', especially Katsuki. That being said, he doesn't know if he should display it, but then again, it is required for them to share their quirks with the class and homeroom teacher, even if he is a late bloomer. He has no choice in that matter, so then again, he should just get it over with. Tomorrow was the last day of his third year, anyway, and to be honest, he had been working hard to graduate early. In secret, of course, without most teachers knowing.
He had been secretly taking special exams at a center funded by the Ministry of Education, which allows someone to graduate early. The teachers at Aldera are likely to be informed today.
Arriving at Aldera High School and saying goodbye to his mother for now, Izuku simply walked to his classroom like normal, not raising much suspicion—or so he thought. He was beaming, plain and simple, with a big old smile on his face, which, of course, caused the bullies to get suspicious.
"What is he smiling about?" One of them asked, being a chubby boy with wings. "Did he finally accept reality or something?"
"Nah, someone smells fishy." Another one said. This one simply has a large nose. "I mean it. He smells funny. Maybe he got a new perfume or something?"
"Maybe he got his quirk?" A boy with long fingers said, but at his words, the entire group laughed.
"Yeah, right, as if." The chubby boy replied. "By this point, I am sure he must have done something in his previous life to be punished by being quirkless."
"Maybe Katsuki knows something?" The long-fingered boy asked. "I mean, their mothers are friends from what he told us, so maybe the nerd's mother said something that reached him?"
"You do make a fair point, " the chubby boy said. On cue, their leader walked in. Katsuki Bakugou was a more muscular teen with ashen blond hair and red eyes. His hair was spiky and messy, and it was pointing in multiple directions. He seemed always angry, with a constant scowl. However, today, he seemed a bit more irate than usual.
"Yo, Katsuki!" The long-nosed boy said, to grab his attention. "Say, do you know why Midoriya is happy today?"
"The nerd? Happy? Yeah, as if-" Then Katsuki simply looked Izuku's way, seeing him smiling, but he also noticed something else on his wrist. Something he knows for a FACT was not there yesterday. "What got him in a good mood?"
"We were hoping you'd know!" The long-nosed boy replied, but then he was pushed aside by Katsuki, who threw his back on his desk and went straight for Izuku. "He's starting early today."
"Oi, nerd!" Katsuki half-shouted to get Izuku's attention before slamming his explosive palms on his desk. "What are you so cheerful about today?"
"Um. No reason?" Izuku replied, trying to hide his newfound power for now. However, Katsuki did not have it.
"No reason? Then what is this?" He asked and then violently grabbed Izuku by his hand, exposing the Omnitrix.
"What is that?!" One of the people in the class gasped at it.
"Shit, what kind of design is that? An hourglass?" Another remarked.
"What kind of accessory is that? I've never seen anything like that before!" One of the girls in the class said, worrying.
"Care to explain what this is, Deku?" Katsuki asked, but then Izuku yanked his hand back.
"It's nothing important!" Izuku replied, trying to keep the lie up.
"Don't bullshit me! You didn't have that yesterday!" Katsuki pressed on. "Tell me now what it is if you know what is good for you, or else you know what is coming towards you!" He threatened, a small explosion already popping in his hand. He knew he still had time before the teacher arrived, meaning enough time for a quick firecracker to Izuku's face.
"Wait, Kacchan, don't do anything rash-"
However, in the middle of his usual begging, Izuku did hear something in his head.
"Threat has been detected, and the situation analyzed. Recommending the use of Petrosapien DNA."
"Wait, no, don't do that!" Izuku said, confusing Katsuki a bit, but the boy took it wrong.
"Who are you to tell me what to do?!" Then he tried to launch the explosion, only to be met with a bright green light that blinded nearly the entire classroom. When the light died down, and everyone heard the small explosion go off, they were left slack-jawed at what they saw.
Before the whole class, he wore green and black pants of some sort with a simple design where it was black on the left and green on the right, and with a green-blue colored body accompanied by green, glowing eyes. The being stood practically shirtless, taller than most people they had seen, with no quirk to alter its size. It had two spikes coming from its back and one from the back of the head. It also had only four fingers and seemed to be wearing black boots on its feet. And the Omnitrix badge rested on his belt.
But what was scaring Bakugou Katsuki more right now was that his hand was on its chest, and it didn't even leave a mark.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" Katsuki said as he backed away, tripping and falling over.
"Holy shit, Deku has a quirk!" The chubby boy said, freaking out just like the rest of the class.
"What was that?! Some kind of transformation-type?!" The long-fingered boy said, feeling intimidated, especially as Izuku got up.
"Kacchan, let me help you up-" His voice was somewhat thicker now in this form.
"Get away from me!" Katsuki said, throwing an explosion at him, this time for real. It was done out of reflex, but it was still enough to maybe even knock someone out! Yet, when the smoke cleared, there was no damage again. "H-how?"
"Ummm." Shit! He had read it on the Omnitrix's list of features, but he hadn't figured it was this sensitive!
"It is not. The Omnitrix has a failsafe function meant to protect itself and the user in case of an imminent threat." The AI clarified, and Izuku felt himself at fault for this now. He had to remember to learn more about this device, or else, who knows what kind of alien he might become! He had not yet checked the list of forms.
"Deku…" Katsuki growled, getting up by himself and standing before Izuku. "You fucking twig…" He balled his fist, and all the while, his other hand was popping with smaller explosions. However, despite his expression, Izuku was not as afraid. The explosions so far barely tickled him. This body he had felt hard and durable. "HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING YOUR QUIRK ALL ALONG?!" And that is when Katsuki Bakugou officially snapped, throwing a third explosion, this time on purpose, at Izuku.
Its strength was enough to shatter the windows this time and spook the rest of the class, but again, it left no damage. "Kacchan, calm yourself! Using your quirk like this will only get you in trouble and jeopardize your dream to-"
"Don't tell me what to do!-"
"What is going on here?!" Suddenly, a teacher, luckily one of the ones who helped Izuku graduate early, entered the room and saw the damage. He immediately zeroed in on Katsuki and, after he saw him turn back, Izuku. "Can someone explain to me what I just saw?! Izuku Midoriya, I thought you were quirkless!"
"I was!" Izuku replied, using the past tense. "I don't know, it just…happened last night. This thing appeared on my wrist, and ever since, I seem to have some kind of transformation-based ability." A lie with sprinkles of truth, but yet again, a necessary one.
"And this damage?! Who caused this?"
"It was Katsuki!" One of the other students said. He was no longer afraid of Bakugou because he saw his explosions rendered useless against Izuku. "He was bullying Midoriya with his quirk, like before, but then Midoriya turned, and he started throwing explosions left and right!"
"Why you-"
"Katsuki Bakugou!" The teacher shouted, getting his attention. "This behavior is not acceptable, and it will not be overlooked!" Bakugou clicked his tongue. Now that he was looking back at it, it was hard to ignore multiple windows being shattered and eye-witnessed. "As for you, Midoriya, why did you use your new quirk like that?"
"I didn't mean to! I have little control over it, and I don't know how to use it that well." Izuku replied, which was pretty much the truth.
"Very well." The teacher said, believing him. "However, Bakugou, you do not get to use the same excuse. I will see you after class, and your parents WILL be informed. The school will press fines for the windows."
"Damn you, Deku…" Katsuki muttered under his breath, and then the teacher continued.
"Now, due to the classroom being damaged, thankfully, it is the last day. I will speak with the principal and see about having you relocated to a spare room, if any, or the gym, where you can spend the rest of the day normally." The teacher said, but then he recalled why he was originally there. "Except you, Midoriya. I am here to deliver something to you." The teacher approached the boy, pulling out a certain piece of paper. "Congratulations, young man. You have managed to graduate early."
"Early graduation?!" The big-nosed boy gasped. "Hey, how is that fair?! Why does that nerd get to graduate early? He didn't even have a quirk until today!"
"What?" The teacher turned to the boy, who froze under the teacher's stern gaze. "This is not by any means a matter decided by a quirk, young man, but by individual achievement. Midoriya worked hard, and his hard work paid off."
"Impossible, Katsuki is top in everything!" The chubby boy shouted, arguing the decision. "He cheated! He has to have cheated!"
"Even so, you have no authority to change anything." The teacher pointed out, shutting up the group. "The decision was already made, and Izuku here is free to enroll in any college he wants early. He doesn't even need to stay here anymore." The teacher said, looking at Izuku. "You can leave for the day, Midoriya, and never come back. As far as the staff of Aldera is concerned, you are a good student who graduated early. Have a good life."
"Thank you, teacher," Izuku replied, offering a small bow out of respect to the teacher. Then, picking up his stuff, he left the room, leaving behind a fuming Bakugou to deal with his problems.
This turned out better than he expected! Well, maybe, except for the part where all the glass windows were destroyed, and he turned by mistake. That was a new form as well! First, the Galvanic Mechamorph, now the Petrosapien. It made him wonder how many kinds of aliens there are. But something else weighed on his mind.
The Omnitrix did say before he could apply some kind of identification to those forms, meaning something like names? Or tags to recognize them? It was certainly going to be hard to remember the name of every race. That much was for sure. He could name his forms.
With that being said, however, how should he name them? The first one could combine with technology and control it in some ways, even modify it. Maybe he will call that form Hack. It does allow him to melt with technology, and from what he knows, it may even allow him to do actual hacking. It was technology-related, and he kinda liked it.
"Tag saved: Galvanic Mechamorph - Hack."
And it seemed the Omnitrix agreed with him. As for the other one, he felt how his body seemed more durable than normal, but a long way too! He also noticed how he seemed made of crystal, and based on the basic information he was reading about that, he was! So, living crystal…Got it! He'll call that form Diamond Soldier!
"Tag saved: Petrosapien - Diamond Soldier."
Nice! For now, however, Izuku was rushing to get back home and call his mother, letting her know about everything that happened and that he was able to graduate early. This was also a surprise for her, so he couldn't help but think of the expression she may get when she heard about it! He always wanted to get to UA, and now, with the power of the Omnitrix, he feels it is not just possible but within his reach as well!
He has an entire year to train to master his various forms and abilities. He feels like he has only touched the tip of the iceberg regarding what he can do with those aliens! Oh man, he couldn't wait to get home and start preparing himself, as he knew UA is not an easy college to get into!
Still, his future never looked so bright.
Katsuki Bakugou hated everything right now. Not only did he get in trouble and have to pay for the windows, but he got grounded as well. One entire month, that is how much he got! He could only train, and that was that! Not to mention, they got an additional fine and a stain on his file for his, and this is how the teacher put it: 'abusive use of a highly destructive quirk within school grounds'.
They say he got lucky he didn't do this on public property outside of school. Otherwise, the authorities would have been involved since he used it on a person. Luckily, Deku didn't get harmed at all. This is also the shame in this, the very thing keeping Katsuki up at night right now.
What WAS that? One moment, he was his normal, scrawny, wimpy, and weak self, then a flash of light, and he was a hulking figure the size of All Might! Made out of some kind of hard stone that, and he saw it first-hand, was so hard his explosions did shit against it! That is what annoyed him the most, not him graduating early or anything like that!
The fact that he was able to brush off his explosions so easily is surprising. Sure, he didn't give it his all, especially seeing as he has yet to get his support item, but the nerd already had that MUCH power with next to no mastery of his quirk?!
BULLSHIT!
He won't accept such a thing.
He needed to figure out the weakness of that quirk of his, anything to get to be on top of the food chain again. People at school are already starting to say they can hit up Deku for protection and shit, but Katsuki knows that is all rumors and speculation.
Wishful thinking. Even when transformed, it was still the nerd under all of that. He knows it - he is SURE of it. He might change his body, but his mind doesn't, meaning he wouldn't dare fight him even if his life depended on it!
However, it was easier said than done. His outburst had other consequences, especially regarding his acceptance to UA. He needs to attend counseling and anger management now and every day until he is given the green light from them and the assurance that he is not a volatile threat to society.
Fucking Deku, this was all his fault! Who let him get his quirk?! He should have just remained the harmless nerd he always was and just taken the punishment!
What was worse? He will get to UA before him! Graduating High School early meant he could go to college early, and U.A. University is renowned for a reason! That nerd will eclipse him, removing him as the number 1!
He cannot allow that…He WON'T let it! But that being said, he knew when to stop. He was no villain in the making. He aspired to become a hero! He won't allow himself to be eclipsed because he will make sure to work ten times as hard to make sure the nerd can never get stronger than him.
He will be at the top, and he will be defeated! That will be his motivation.
Later that evening, Izuku had many reasons to celebrate. The entire day had gone perfectly for him, albeit with a few hiccups, but in hindsight, it couldn't have been better! Not only did he get a 'quirk', but he also graduated early and got to see his bully get in trouble for the first time! Most likely, the destruction of property is not something they can brush off easily.
He celebrated with a good meal, together with his mother. Tomorrow, they were going to register his newfound abilities as a Quirk. But other than that? Following his dream.
