As soon as Kenjaku stepped forward at the entrance of Jujutsu High, he was immediately struck by a nostalgic feeling, something rooted in the memories of his body that refused to fade.
No matter how much Geto had rebelled and gone against the decisions of the Jujutsu society, his feelings for this place were undeniable. For a long time, it had been his home, a place for those he loved… and at the end of the day, it still was.
Kenjaku was fascinated by the sensation that seemed to fight against his control. His body appeared to recognize his intentions and was actively resisting to prevent him from moving forward.
It might seem hypocritical considering what Geto had done during his attack the previous year, but his body seemed to care too much about the school.
A pointless battle, in Kenjaku's eyes. As fascinating as it was, and as much as it piqued his curiosity to learn more about the relationship between body and soul, it was nothing more than that. Geto could fight all he wanted, but his body now belonged to Kenjaku.
The slight loss of control in the subway during Shibuya was nothing more than a careless mistake. Now that Kenjaku was aware that remnants of Geto's will still resided in his body, he wouldn't let it happen again.
"I will destroy the place you hold so dear," he said with a small smile, indifferently raising his hand as cursed energy danced in his palm. "And there's nothing you can do about it, so give up."
His body seemed to react, his fingers trembling before quickly returning to Kenjaku's control.
"Just surrender already."
Curses emerged from the black shadows that formed on the ground, countless creatures of various sizes advancing toward the school's facilities with a single intent.
To destroy everything and anyone they encountered.
"Hmm…" Kenjaku, watching the curses advance, clenched his wrist with a small smile, satisfied when he no longer felt Geto's resistance. "Very well."
With a wave, he began walking among the curses, moving leisurely toward the Star Tomb, where the key to his plan lay peacefully, as if he were some kind of god who didn't care about what happened around him.
"I'm on my way, old friend."
.
In the training room, the residents needed no further explanation. Utahime, who had been the most confused earlier, immediately began preparing for the ritual. Perhaps she wasn't fully up to date on the situation, but she had stayed in touch enough to know about the plans to free Gojo and Kenjaku's identity.
Still, she wanted to understand enough about what was happening and what exactly she would be amplifying.
Her technique was called Solo Forbidden Area. Through a ritual, she could turn the area around her into an "enhancement point," maximizing and amplifying the efficiency of a cursed technique, as well as boosting the release of cursed energy from anyone in the area.
Dance, talismans, gestures, words, and even music all served to enhance the effect of the technique, but considering her surroundings, Utahime immediately realized this was more of an improvisation than anything else.
She needed, at the very least, to understand what exactly she would be doing.
"You must be confused," Yuji's clone spoke beside her, his eyes following the other girls who all seemed eager. "Sorry about that. I didn't know when Kenjaku would attack, so I ended up looking for you at the last minute."
Utahime's eyes narrowed, not in suspicion or distrust, but in curiosity. "What exactly are we doing?"
"..." Itadori watched as Nanako pulled out her phone and took a picture of the environment, her fingers tapping furiously on the screen as she seemed to begin her editing process. "My original body is too far away. Nanako will bring it here by editing an image to teleport me."
Utahime nodded, seeming to finally understand the purpose of her presence. With just a glance, she could see that Nanako lacked cursed energy, so it was easy to conclude that she alone would be unable to do something like teleportation. "But from what I know, Tsukumo is the one protecting Tengen… Isn't she enough?"
"...Kenjaku is a sorcerer with over a thousand years of experience. Even if he can't win, escaping is an option, and if we have the chance to end him here and now, I don't want to let that chance slip away.
With my technique, I'm the best option to stop him if he tries to escape."
"I see," Utahime nodded, her eyes observing the confident tone in Itadori's words. "If that's the case, then let's do this quickly."
"You're the senior here, so please guide us, Utahime-sensei."
"We'll need a few minutes, so I hope the clone outside can hold out until then."
.
Itadori's clone didn't know how much time had passed, but considering all the blood on the ground around him, it must have been a considerable amount.
He had already lost count of how many curses he had taken down, and yet they kept coming in relentless waves.
Cursed energy still vibrated in his fist, but he couldn't deny that he was starting to tire. Unlike his original body, he didn't have a core capable of generating constant cursed energy. He had to work with what he was given, so besides worrying about fighting, he had to manage the amount of power he put into his attacks.
Most of the curses were weak, but he noticed that some of them would be impossible to defeat without cursed energy. Kenjaku really didn't want to leave a single trace of Jujutsu High, and he seemed to spare no effort in achieving that.
Bam!
With his fist exploding the head of a curse, he quickly turned to grab the neck of another creature that tried to leap at him, his fingers crushing it purely with the strength of his body.
Alternating between strengthening his body with cursed energy for stronger curses and using pure brute force for weaker ones, he seemed to be handling the situation well, as no curse had managed to get close enough to the training room yet.
Thud!
Turning to see a weak, vulture-like curse, he let the cursed energy in his body dissipate as he ran toward it, his fist raised ready to burst the avian curse's head.
!
But with his instincts screaming in his head, he barely managed to avoid an axe that threatened to split him in half, his head turning to see a massive curse that closed the distance between them in the blink of an eye.
Bam!
Hit by a precise blow, his body flew like a bullet, stopping abruptly when his back slammed fiercely against a concrete wall.
Damn! He spat blood, his hand gripping his side to feel clearly that some of his ribs were broken. Lucky me.
He stood up with some difficulty, his eyes rising to see the same curse that had attacked him staring at him with strange eyes.
With four eyes, two on each side of its head, and three dark horns on its head that matched the large nose of the same color, Itadori could confidently say.
This thing is ugly as hell.
And as if that weren't enough, the thick mustache under its nose made everything worse, even making the clone laugh internally, only to stop when his ribs hurt like hell.
A strange curse, but with just one look, he could tell it was undeniably powerful. Its appearance was comical, but the massive axe in its hands made it quite intimidating.
Itadori didn't know exactly what this creature was supposed to be, but he was absolutely sure it was something strong from Kenjaku's arsenal.
And considering the movement of its eyes, it seemed to be targeting the training room, where the cursed energy of his companions resided… which meant this was a fight he couldn't avoid.
The life of a clone was never easy…
!
As he reflected on his situation, his eyes widened as a strong gust of wind hit him with such force that it forced him to plant his feet on the ground, his eyes narrowing as he watched the curse take a step forward.
This wind didn't come from its movement… Is this its technique? Itadori wondered cautiously, his body coated in cursed energy as he took a combat stance. Without his techniques, he had nothing to rely on but his strength and combat skills. I need to figure it out before risking getting closer.
Being cautious of the curse's technique, Itadori stayed in place. His gaze met the curse's strange eyes firmly, which turned to him with hostility.
It's going to move! Noticing the curse raising its axe above its head, Itadori immediately prepared. Is it going to throw it?
But contrary to his thoughts, instead of throwing the axe, the curse slammed its blade hard into the ground, a massive stream of wind originating from the impact and traveling toward Itadori at a speed that caught the teenager off guard.
What is this?! Throwing his body to the side to let the wind pass by him, his eyes opened in shock as a cut opened on his cheek, his eyes following the wind to see it split the dormitories in two. Damn, this is-
Boom!
Before he could come to a conclusion about the creature's technique, Itadori leaped to the side to escape the axe blade that landed fiercely in his previous position, his eyes rising to see the curse's palm pointed at his face.
They better not take too long!
Bam!
A powerful jet of wind hit his face like a punch, his body spinning away until it landed hard on the ground.
Because I feel like I won't be able to hold this guy off for long.
Shaking off the confusion, Itadori stood up alert, his fists glowing with cursed energy.
But finding the curse already in front of him, Itadori had to leap to the side to escape the axe once again, but this time, he immediately charged forward with his cursed energy-filled fist.
Boom!
With a solid punch to the curse's stomach, he watched the creature fly a few meters back, his eyes wide in recognition of the young sorcerer's strength.
Never mind…
With a bloody smile, Itadori clenched his fists tightly, the cursed energy embracing him like a cloak as his eyes shone with intensity.
I'll hold this damn thing off for as long as it takes!
