Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Entangled Deceit

As Sophia sobbed in her room, a familiar voice whispered her name,

 "Sophia."

Startled, she turned to find her lover, Dave, standing at the door.

He came in, his concern evident, only to discover her enveloped in grief.

"Sophia, what happened?"

he asked, wrapping his arms around he, tears streaming down her face, and confessed,

"I don't know what happened. Levon is mad at me for something, but I don't understand what I did to upset him."

Dave gently stopped their embrace, looking into her eyes with a mix of pity and frustration.

"You really don't think, do you?"

he remarked, his gaze directing her attention to a security camera in the corner of the room.

Confused, Sophia asked,

"So? What's the big deal with a security camera?"

Dave sighed, moved to the side of the bed, and picked up his shoes, a sly smile playing on his lips.

"I forgot my shoes here last time,"

he said, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.

"Now, think, love."

Suddenly, the weight of realization crashed down on Sophia. Her eyes widened in shock as she understood what Dave was implying.

"He knows,"

she whispered, her voice tinged with remorse.

Dave nodded pointing at the blinking red light on the security camera.

"He's still looking at you right now,"

he revealed. Sophia broke into another bout of tears. She had betrayed Levon's trust,

and the consequences were unfolding before her.

Dave, seemingly indifferent to her sorrow, stated,

"You can't do anything about it, love."

With a cold look at the camera, he mutterd,

"Sorry, Levon. She's all mine now, b**ch."

Hours later, Dave left, leaving Sophia alone with the weight of her actions.

Determined to salvage what remained of her marriage, she wiped away her tears,

got dressed, applied makeup, and styled her hair, presenting herself as stunningly as she could.

As she waited for Levon to return, her heart raced with uncertainty.

When he finally entered the room, the atmosphere crackled with tension. Sophia looked into his eyes, waiting for the storm to unfold.
