Although the giant before him was towering in stature, Alaric knew full well that she was, in fact, a young girl.
She had a slender yet athletic figure, her bronze skin marked with strange white patterns.
Her eyes were a vivid crimson, while her hair was snow-white.
She wore only a simple white garment that covered her vital areas, and a white veil gave the illusion of long, flowing white hair.
Though her height was dozens of times that of an average human, she did not resemble the hideous giants of myth.
On the contrary, she was beautiful and serene. Her breathing, in her slumber, was so soft that Alaric might not have noticed it at all had he not felt it directly against him.
Yet despite her outward beauty, Alaric instinctively sensed an immense danger radiating from her.
This stunning giant girl lay alone in a stone cavern that, while not vast by giant standards, was still quite spacious.
She rested on a bed shaped like a temple, surrounded by untold treasures. The entire scene was both bizarre and inexplicable.
But Alaric recognized her identity at a glance, and from that, deduced his own situation and the world he now stood in.
The Predator Star, also known as the Harvest Star, is a comet that appears in the Milky Way once every 14,000 years.
Its appearance resembles a "weeping eye," but in truth, it is a terrifying force.
The Predator Star, more accurately, Velber, has a central comet core, around which multiple starships orbit.
You could imagine it as wearing armor composed of countless layered starships, that would be an apt metaphor.
If the core is seen as Velber's true body, then the surrounding cometary formations are the various invasion weapons it created, composite starship armor equipped with diverse forms of assault.
This form, both defensive and aggressively invasive, was Velber's optimal solution developed through eons of predation upon countless civilizations.
Wherever it passes, the civilizations of all intelligent life are annihilated.
If one were to compare it with an entity from another world, it would be akin to Galactus from Marvel.
Fourteen thousand years ago, in the prehistoric era, the Predator Star descended upon the Solar System, deploying three starships toward it.
Two of them vanished without a trace. Only one, Velber 02, successfully located its target: Earth.
However, though Earth was Velber 02's intended target, it never reached the planet. Instead, it landed on the Moon.
There, Velber 02 discovered an energy repository, Mooncell Automaton.
This was an ancient relic created by a non-human intelligent species, the oldest mysterious artifact in the Solar System.
Visually, it resembled a photonic crystal spanning 3,000 kilometers in diameter, a lunar-scale supercomputer that stored all of the past and predicted all of the future, with computational power capable of modeling an entire solar system.
Indeed, this was precisely where Alaric had ended up.
The comet released its scouts, known as Anticells or Star Soldiers, to infiltrate Moon cell and begin its invasion.
Simultaneously, it transmitted its data to Earth and created a physical form in the real world, a corporeal avatar.
Thus began its simultaneous assault on both Earth and the Moon.
On Earth, the comet's avatars wrought massive destruction.
This type of Star Soldier would absorb the civilization it destroyed as magical energy and grow in size without limit. Its initial form was already ten times the size of that civilization's average human.
With every convergence of spirit particles, it would grow even larger.
Eventually, it would self-destruct after reducing the civilization to ashes.
This kind of power utterly suppressed both the life forms and gods of Earth. The comet's incarnation became an unstoppable colossus.
Yet ultimately, whether on Earth or the Moon, the mighty Star Soldier was defeated.
On Earth, it fell to the Star-Forged Holy Sword.
On the Moon, after destroying nearly 80% of Moon cell's data, it was sealed away.
Since Moon cell could not annihilate the Star Soldier, it sealed the "Tear-Star" carrying the soldier whole, isolating it as an "Unknown Region."
However, both the Star Soldier and the starship itself remained formidable threats.
Thus, even while sealing the vessel, Mooncell had to guard against its potential corruption.
And so, both sides fell into a stalemate.
Mooncell blocked all connections to prevent further contamination, but could not purge the threat.
Meanwhile, the territory known to the starship pressed upon Moon cell's interior like a crushing void.
It was like a state of darkness before the sun of civilization rises, a time in which nothing can be born, thus it was named the "Uncharted Domain."
In the end, it became territory claimed by the Predator Star within Moon cell.
The troubling part was that the isolation was merely physical, just a blocked network. This meant that, in theory, anyone could still enter, if they tried.
At least, Alaric had entered it.
And the giant before him was none other than that formidable being from the Predator Star, a Star Soldier.
In the original work, she once appeared on Earth under the name of Attila the Hun.
She stirred waves throughout human history, known as the Scourge of God, building a vast empire stretching from West Asia to Russia, Eastern Europe, and Gaul.
Some even claimed that it was he who brought about the fall of the Eastern and Western Roman Empires.
In any case, the presence of the Star Soldier allowed Alaric to infer that Earth's history had at least progressed beyond the Neolithic Age, though the exact time remained uncertain.
Still, as was his habit, Alaric gave the giant girl a name, Attila. Or if he were being a bit more affectionate, Altira.
In any case, Alaric now understood exactly which world he had entered.
Type-Moon, also known as the Nasuverse.
Everything in this world traced back to the entity known as the Swirl of the Root.
Alaric immediately understood why the creation scene he had witnessed upon arrival was so strange.
He now understood why, after such a brief journey, he had found himself on the Moon, post-Neolithic era.
After all, this point in time should be at least 5.6 billion years removed from creation.
The real reason likely stemmed from the Swirl of the Root's nature, it existed outside the timeline.
Just as Alaric had once traversed the Sea of Chaos that lay outside all worlds and chosen a specific time to enter, so too could the Swirl deposit him into any era.
And as for why Alaric hadn't been assimilated or devoured by the Root...
Perhaps it was because he wasn't of this world to begin with. His origin wasn't from the Swirl of the Root.
That would also explain why the magic of the World of Warcraft worked perfectly here.
Perhaps through the triggered spells he'd prepared in advance, the Swirl of the Root had comprehended the principles of that magic and incorporated it into its own rules, somewhat akin to laying a foundation for a ritual system.
At last, Alaric had found answers to most of his questions.
Now, only one remained,
What should he do next?
