Training Ground 3
3 days before setting of to Suna
"How was your training?" Kakashi asked.
"It provided much expected results for me as I was able to further develop my clan's ninjutsu." Shintaro was the first to reply with a generic reply.
"The same with me." Shoto commented then Kakashi looked at Osamu.
"Do I really have to still say it when you were the one who trained me?" Complained Osamu.
"No, but it would be fair since I plan on making all three of you spar today."
"I agree." Shintaro voiced out as Shoto nodded.
"Well, besides the fact that I can use chidori once and learned taijutsu under Gai sensei. The other progress I have would be the near Chunin level chakra reserves thank you very much and the only jutsu I can develop on my own, my Genjutsu: Nightmare Series!."
"Just don't use it on us, although I am curious as to how you manage to make anyone under your Genjutsu scream and piss themselves. I really don't want to experience it." Shoto simply nodded in agreement.
"Yeah sure, but we're going to spar today right Kakashi-sensei?" Osamu smirked and asked.
Shintaro and Shoto immediately showed a nervous expression but as a Shinobi, they shouldn't show such cowardice so they immediately masked it.
"Is it really okay for him to be using it in a spar Kakashi-sensei?" Shintaro asked looking for a loophole.
But he despaired as he saw Kakashi emersed on his book.
"Uh, Kakashi -sensei?!" Shintaro called for him.
"Huh? Ohh right. You can start the spar anytime, I'll be observing from a distance." Kakashi excused as he hid himself to enjoy the show or the book? Who knows?
The trio were left in the field but none moved and simply made eye contact.
As soon as wind blew and the leaves on the trees fell, Shoto and Shintaro deployed their jutsu. Shadow tendrils and kikaichus swarmed.
Their target?
Osamu of course.
'I don't want to know!' 2x Shoto and Shintaro were thinking the same thing.
Osamu receiving the attack from his teammates became a block of wood.
"When did he-" Shintaro was unable to finish his words as Osamu worked fast and cut him off by saying coldly.
"Horror Genjutsu: Nightmare Series." Shintaro felt cold on his back as he turned his head towards that dreadful name of jutsu Osamu uses often to punish bandits.
If it was just watching the the horror movies, it would not be so scary. But if you were the characters being haunted, pursued, or being killed? Then it's a whole different matter all together.
"The Nun." That was the last words Shintaro heard when everything around him turned dark and he found himself inside a house and haunted by a very particular creature in a Nun outfit.
In reality, Shintaro was already not moving.
Looking around, Osamu couldn't see Shoto anywhere.
"Sho... To... Come... Out hehehe.....I still have a lot in my disposal. Would you like to meet a Xenomorph or Freddy?" Osamu asked in a very slow manner.
Kakashi could only sigh at the antics of his students. While it's true that Osamu's Genjutsu is more potent than normal Genjutsu that even him couldn't detect it immediately.
Dispelling it actually requires the knowledge of what the Genjutsu was and the will to break it.
If it were the simple vanishing Genjutsu, it'll be hard to detect and know but easier to dispell once you knew.
However, the nightmare series, although you already know it's a Genjutsu. The problem is that the jutsu attacks your will and mind itself leaving you with less strength to break it.
Unless you are not affected by it at all then all is good and the illusion can be escaped. However, the nightmares he creates is not something normal that even some Shinobi might not be able to escape it.
He asked Osamu to use it on Gai and himself as one of Gai's challenge. And the challenge was who would endure the longest. It was a tie.
That was the day Osamu introduced both of them to Piranha 3D. It was all good when the scene was them in a lovey dovey act with a beautiful girl. Until something came out of the girl that bitten off their eggplant.
To say that they were traumatized for almost a week when they saw beautiful women was probably correct. But the due endured Shinobi wars so it was something they were able to cope with.
If he was using his Sharingan that day, there might've been a different result. The same with the bell test since the Sharingan makes him immune to Osamu's Genjutsu.
Osamu's Genjutsu would develop further depending on him alone. That would be the only time he might be affected even when using Sharingan.
Back to the spar
When Osamu called out to Shoto, the latter surrounds Shoto with kikaichus. He knew Osamu doesn't have any jutsu to counter him.
As a swarm of insects surrounds Osamu, he didn't panic at all.
"Bring it!"
As if acknowledging him the swarm came after him. Osamu immediately ran towards the swarm.
"Konoha leaf whirlwind!" with a twisting kick strong enough to affect the swarm he was able to escape or got out of the swarm surrounding him.
He immediately used shunshin and went into hiding in the forest.
Meanwhile Shintaro was already out of the Genjutsu but he already down for the count as he sitting on the ground thinking of something deep.
'so that's how it felt and that's what he's been showing the bandits. If it was the normal creatures I often watched then it wouldn't be hard, however, how did he make an orphanage patron look like that?' immediately as he said the last part he subconsciously imagined it again and shivers upon seeing it.
Shintaro, gave up.
Meanwhile Shoto was very well hidden in the forest while scanning for Osamu using his insects.
Osamu himself was trying his best to avoid detection but it was only a matter of time for Shoto's insects to find him.
The forest side of training ground 3 isn't exactly endless despite its size.
Having no choice left, Osamu using his shuchu state and physical energy max to his feet along with body flicker went directly towards Shoto's direction.
Surprised by the sudden attack, Shoto scrambled on what to do. It's not that he didn't see Osamu coming, its just that if Osamu arrives and closes the distance between them, he's 100% sure he won't be able to react.
Using his insects he tried to slow Osamu down but the latter simply bursts through the blockade of insects in front of him.
"Ahhhhhhhhh.... Konoha leaf whirlwind!"
"Konoha leaf whirlwind!"
"Konoha leaf whirlwind!"
"Konoha leaf whirlwind!"
"Konoha leaf whirlwind!"
"Konoha leaf whirlwind!"
"Konoha..!!! haha..."
"Leafaaa!"
"Whirlwindoh!" Osamu shouts in annoyance just in time to see Shoto casually waiting for him.
"Time to finish this, Shoto!" Osamu declared then Shoto smirked.
"But its already over." Osamu was surprised to see insects attached to him.
'I became too focused on him that I failed to notice the insects he planted on me.' Osamu thought as he felt his chakra drained in an alarming rate!
He immediately weaved hand signs for chidori hoping it will be enough to take away the insects in time.
"Chidori!" He focused it near his body and saw insects dropping down.
Shoto seeing this focused, it seems the fight has not yet ended. Osamu is stubborn, however what will he do now with an exhausted chakra?
Osamu's Chidori immediately glimmered down and vanished while he was breathing hard due to chakra exhaustion.
"Even I can tell that you are exhausted, both physically and in chakra. Give up." Osamu just laughed at him.
"Hahahaha... You must be tired already to be proposing that. You see, I can still move. I am still standing. I can still fight!" he shouts with no uncertainty that Shoto believed him.
"Even an idiot can tell your bluffing!" Shoto tried to find out if Osamu was lying but he already believed him, he was simply trying to buy some time for his insects to surround Osamu stealthily.
"I didn't see it earlier because I was to focused on your location but I'm not letting your insects that's trying to surround me, get me twice!" Osamu used his remaining physical energy on sole of his feet.
"So what if I don't have chakra! My fists are enough!" Osamu disappears from his position and closed the distance in an instant.
Shoto was surprised to see Osamu suddenly in front of him. Relying on his senses he tried to block the fist coming to his face.
Only to be shocked by the sheer amount of strength coming from Osamu's fist.
'He might be clanless but both Shintaro and I knew how hard he works. And I think, Kakashi-sensei knows that too' he thought as the punch sent him flying.
Shoto can honestly say, if he didn't even tried to work hard and train a bit like Osamu did, he would be knocked out by now.
Forcing himself up, Shoto declared.
"I give up sensei."
"Well, that was certainly entertaining. Lacks more power but once you guys grow stronger, I bet you can entertain me even more than now." Kakashi said as he thought of something if ever he's going to handle another bunch of Genin.
He was thinking of having Osamu and his team conduct the bell test for him. And that is something in the future.
